When it's busy I might grumble to myself about wrapping separately.. the waste of paper annoys me, one sausage etc but I just smile and do.
New potatoes are a bugger and I usually wrap chips without anything else.
In all the years I've worked there we never have any chips left from lunch to use. We are very busy.
Fishcakes - two slices of potato with minced cod in-between. Usually sell 150 upwards a day.
Nope, not veggie friendly. Pure beef dripping.
Yup to battered mars bars and anything else lying around at quiet times! Cake/mince pie/choc bars.

Oooh baby that's a real fishcake Grin

Chipshop123 · 01/07/2018 17:56

I've seen cod worms 😷 Nope we don't sell much haddock, but when we do it's beautiful.
I've never worked with Elvis, missed a trick there singing and serving!
Whoever said about the battered Bounty- don't do it. Coconut is the devil's food!
Nah, please don't eat floor chips..kick them to one side until I have chance to sweep them up!

Most definitely a real fish cake.. it's an art form to make them!
Sorry forgot the chicken nugget Q- same at our chippy shouted when you walk in. They don't stand well in the top box.

Is the vinegar watered down?

Snowysky20009 · 01/07/2018 17:59

Why is Irish curry more expensive?

LapsedHumanist · 01/07/2018 17:59

You got a cheese savoury ready?

CremeEggThief · 01/07/2018 17:59

Aw, that's a shame/pain that you use beef dripping.

flopsyrabbit1 · 01/07/2018 17:59

tell more about the fish worms

Snowysky20009 · 01/07/2018 17:59

Bugger I want a chip supper now 😫

Danceintherain2018 · 01/07/2018 18:00

Do you change portion sizes a bit for different customers. I always order the small chips but sometimes get loads more chips depending on who is serving.

BonnieF · 01/07/2018 18:00

Do you peel and chip your own spuds, or do you buy them in ready chipped?

Chipshop123 · 01/07/2018 18:01

Vinegar comes in concentrate and is watered down.
Cheese savories done to order ( they don't hold well).
Fish worm are tiny weeny worms. Grim but I've only seen one or two.

a,whole bag Shockwould you pop in a bit of gravy too? and where are you Grin

Chipshop123 · 01/07/2018 18:02

We don't sell Irish curry so no clue, sorry.
Nope each portion is measured and counted- actually counted. If my count is up or down I get a telling off.

Fishcake is a giveaway, gotta be south Yorkshire.

Chipshop123 · 01/07/2018 18:04

No-one peels spuds they get 'rumbled' and 'chipped' by machines. We really busy so wouldn't have time.
Yup a full bag of scrapsmy love and our gravy is legendary 😀

Justanotheruser01 · 01/07/2018 18:06

What are scraps? They sound yummy!!

LookingforHope · 01/07/2018 18:07

Do you have pickled onions or pickled eggs in a jar on the counter? Also when I ask my local chippy for a small portion of chips they charge me accordingly but still give me shedloads and I feel guilty wasting them! Are you just all super generous folks who want to share the joy of chips?

TheQueef · 01/07/2018 18:07

Scraps are the truffle of the north.

Chipshop123 · 01/07/2018 18:08

They're the bits of batter from the fish. We've been known to have people waiting on scraps. Delicious with salt vinegar :)
