1. Best overall Tassimo machine: Tassimo My Way 2 Coffee Machine

Tassimo My Way 2 machine

Price: £79 | Buy now from Amazon

“I love my Tassimo. I've got a 'My Way' and it allows you to set profiles and adjust the heat and strength of the coffee. The drinks are the same no matter what machine you use. The Costa range is nice, so are some of the hot chocolates. As I said, I love mine and use it daily.” (Vetted by Mumsnet user Redglitter)

The Tassimo My Way 2 is the most expensive machine on our list, but it’s also the most customisable.

You can adjust the intensity, temperature, and volume of every drink you make, so it’s always just the way you like it. If you like your coffee the same way each time then you can also save up to four sets of choices using the ‘my memory’ function.

The My Way 2 also comes with integrated Brita water filtration technology which helps prevent limescale build up and releases the full flavour of the coffee, so you get a great tasting drink each time.

  • More expensive than other models

2. Best value Tassimo machine: Tassimo by Bosch Suny Coffee Machine

Tassimo Suny machine

Price: £34.99 | Buy now from Amazon

“Had three Tassimos over the years (only replaced due to upgrading each time). I love them, and LOVE my current one. Before you use it for the first time, you will need to ‘clean’ the machine – you should have a yellow or orange T Disc, put this in the pod compartment and run it four times. There are hundreds of Tassimo drink flavours available, my fave one at the moment is Costa Latte, then Monin Cinnamon Syrup squirted in – it is as close as you will ever get to a Costa at home.” (Tried and tested by Mumsnet user e1y1)

At a fraction of the price of the My Way 2, the Tassimo Suny still delivers perfect hot drinks every time.

It’s also incredibly easy to use, so it’s perfect for when that need for caffeine hits. All you need to do is put in your T Disc and then press your cup against the smart start button when you place it on the cup stand. And that’s it, just two quick steps to your perfect drink.

If you don’t want to use the smart start button then you can always pop your cup on the cup stand and press the start button when you’re ready.

What are Tassimo coffee machines?

Tassimo coffee machines use pods called T Discs to prepare one-cup servings of hot drinks to enjoy at home.

The T Discs have a barcode on the top which is read by the machine so it uses the precise amount of water and heat needed to produce the perfect drink.

Tassimo machines are all made by Bosch and are available in a few different styles and sizes.

What are the main differences between Tassimo machines?

The machines all have the same main features like Intellibrew technology and they all use the same T Discs to create the drinks.

The main differences between the machines are the design and the precise way they work. Some of them are more compact than others and the size of the water tank varies between models.

Some models are also customisable, so you can alter the strength and heat of the drink, and even save your favourite settings. These are more expensive than the more basic models, however.

They also range in price from around £28 to nearly £100.

How much should I spend on a Tassimo machine?

Most Tassimo machines offer a great range of drinks with similar operating systems, with prices starting at around £30. These machines are perfect for families who want to make their favourite drinks quickly and easily at home with no messing around.

If you want a lot of control over the way your coffee is made though, then it’s worth spending more and getting the My Way 2 which offers smart ways to customise your drinks.

How to choose the best Tassimo machine for you

If you’re not sure which Tassimo machine to go for, here are some things you might want to consider.

  • Size - Most Tassimo machines are pretty compact but some are smaller than others and will fit more neatly on your kitchen counter. The water tank size varies slightly too so consider how often you’ll use the machine and how often you’ll have to refill the tank.

  • Design - This is where personal preference really comes in. Do you want a coffee machine that’s monochrome and sleek, or something colourful, curvy, and fun?

  • Customisation - If you want to be able to customise the temperature, strength, and size of your drink you’ll need to go for the My Way 2 machine. However, a cheaper model, like the Suny, is best if you want to make the most of the Intellibrew system, where the heat and volume of water are predetermined to make you the perfect cuppa.

What’s the drinks range like?

There are over 40 different drinks available in the Tassimo range so there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Coffee drinkers will be spoilt for choice with the range of espressos, Americanos, flat whites, and cappuccinos available from well known brands like Costa and Kenco.

There are even delicious options like Baileys latte macchiato and iced caramel latte in the range for a real coffee shop experience.

For the non-coffee drinkers in the family, there are hot chocolates from brands like Cadbury and Suchard.
