Tiba + Marl Elwood Backpack review

It's so simple and stylish, you won't mind using this bad boy even when baby isn't around – making the hefty price tag feel even better value

Tiba and Marl changing bag main

Tiba + Marl definitely wins the fashion prize. If you're looking for something practical, complete with all the extras you'd expect from a changing bag, but don't want to sacrifice your style, check out the Elwood Backpack.

These bags are undoubtedly cool, offering something different with their funky prints and on-trend styles. The Elwood bags are rucksacks which leave your hands free to tend to your baby or push the buggy. The design of the rucksack is simple, with one main compartment and two smaller outer zipped pockets. We tested the Goth Floral backpack which was a great size (not too big, not too small) and made from 100% Nylon, a fab wipe-clean material that can withstand an enormous amount of liquid spillage (of course, we checked).

We appreciated the padded lower back panel, which offered added comfort when carrying the bag on your back. This proved important, as the downside of the rucksack is that you can’t really attach it to the buggy; the straps slip off the handle easily, which is a shame. All too often changing rooms are tiny, so trying to get a rucksack off your back and unzipped while your baby is on the fold-out changing table is not ideal.

However, we did love the cross body bag/wallet that comes with the rucksack. This handy little bag can easily hold a nappy, wipes and nappy cream. Tiba+Marl provide beautiful extras with their bags; the matching changing mat felt very luxurious, although it is hand-wash or spot clean only.

I have an Elwood, it's awesome. Go for it!
