Tiba and Marl bags for 'everyday' and not a nappy bag? Any suggestions?

Hi everyone,

DS is now 4 so I don't need nappies etc when we go out, just snacks, suncream etc. I've got my eye on this bag for everyday use

Do you think I would be a bit tragic using this for work? I'm a teacher so need something for my planner, laptop etc too. I've always (read - when I had money, pre-child!) bags like Mulberry ones but now I just want something that I can throw everything in, will look good 'dressed up' for work but will also work for jeans and a hoodie at the weekend..... Any suggestions/reviews of the Tiba and Marl etc appreciated! xx

Teaching work bags and handbags aren't compatible, leaky pens, stretched handles from carrying a stack of books ..wrecked.
Most teachers I know have a virtually disposable work bag..and a nicer personal bag. Which would seem to suit your style likes to.
Stops all the repacking as well..fwiw.

I have an Elwood, it's awesome. Go for it!

I like the floral, black or camo look naf.

I have a mi-PAC which is cheap and cheerful for carrying all the shit that comes with a child, decided to take a Mulberry messenger bag today (vintage 80s cross body bag type thing) and it was so heavy!

I have to say though, maybe not great if you're thinking of putting quite a few heavy items in as I'm not sure the straps could take a lot of weight. Maybe something more robust, like a Herschel backpack would be better.

Thanks ladies! I think I'll go for the Elwood... although I was looking at the camo, CowParsleyNettle! Just because the colours go more with my wardrobe.

I completely agree about the workbag thing though.... over the years I've tried lots of different 'systems'! Luckily I do have a shared office near to the classrooms I tend to teach in so I'm not traipsing around school with bags and boxes like some poor souls have too! One of my new academic year resolutions is to not bring as much home ..... have cancelled two short breaks this half term so that I can get through all of my marking. (So I definitely deserve a new bag treat!!!)
