I don’t think she did it at all. I think he did it. He never expected her to survive.

You shouldn’t make sh*t up like that.

She’s confessed to murdering her children. The case isn’t about who murdered them. It’s about whether she was suffering with psychosis and therefore wasn’t in control of her actions.

Ive worked on a psych ward. People experiencing active psychosis dont run around foaming at the mouth, arms flailing and screaming gibberish.

Ive known many a psychotic patient who managed to hold it together for a ward round and flatly deny they were hearing voices and managed to be very calm and rational but challenge them in any way and it would be obvious they were responding to hallucinations etc

Many people experiencing psychosis are able to hide it for short periods of time out of fear

If only Wayne Couzens had thought of this defence and every other murdering fucker.

After all, he was flashing his penis for days before he killed Sarah...surely evidence he was off his head. He didn't have to foam at the mouth or talk gibberish-it was happening internally.

What a load of dangerous hogwash,

You clearly don’t understand mental illness then.

many people who commit suicide are outwardly happy the days before because they know their anguish will soon end. Lots of suicides take a lot of planning but it doesn’t mean the person was of sound mind.

Planning and “acting normal” are not signs that the person was ok - quite the opposite.

Surely acting normal suggests you are of some sound mind? It doesn’t mean you’re not suicidal or significantly depressed, because you hate your life but you don’t want other people to know so you pretend all is well. That’s not my understanding of psychosis.

Pushingback · 04/09/2026 20:56

Makkka · 04/09/2026 20:50

Why though?
Wasn’t he out the house when it happened?
How would she not know he had done it?

Apparently yes, but many, many inconsistencies in what happened, how it happened etc etc

I know everyone reacts differently to grief, but who goes hiking three weeks after their three children are murdered and writes a review complaining about a 17 dollar fee? Hiking yes, clear your head, find peace with nature, but a review and a complaint? He was also with the woman he is now married too.

That’s just one example of his very strange behaviour. In my opinion.

Getalittle · 04/09/2026 20:56

KellyK2026 · 04/09/2026 20:43

But I think that is what people aren’t understanding. She has already been found guilty of killing her children, that’s not up for debate. The question is whether she is guilty of murder, in which case she will spend her life in prison, OR will she be found guilty of killing but not murder due to mental health, in which case she will spend her life in a mental institute. No way is she wanting to or can get out of it. The question is where she will be spending her time. In a place with people like Watts or in a place where she can receive help.

Edited

That’s not true though. If she is found not guilty of first degree murder she will go to a hospital, however, she could be out in a year or two. She definitely wouldn’t be there for life.

I understand it perfectly well- I’ve watched the whole trial from start to finish. There is no misunderstanding here.

Agree. The conspiracy lot are out in force.

She sent her husband out on a fool's errand-an errand that she had earlier timed by looking it up on her phone.

She then led her her three children down into the basement.

Were they frightened at this stage or had she told them they were going to play a game or look for something?

She took the first child, while the other two looked on and strangled the child with an exercise band.

The child must have been terrified, begging and she carried on while the cries of the two children who were waiting their turn to be murdered, cried and screamed .

When she had finished and knew the child was dead, she moved on to the second child and, with an exercise band, strangled the child.

She then took the terrified third child and strangled them with an exercise band.

All this shit about about whether she was evil or mad. She may have been both.

It doesn't matter a shit and, if it is found to matter a shit, then a lot more women and children will die at the hands of men who offer up the same defence.

I find it interesting that she is in court trying to defend herself.

I, and I imagine many many mothers who, if they had done this evil act, would have no interest in defending themselves; would just want to either die or wouldn't care about the rest of their life.

She does.

She is a cunt. An evil cunt. She may be a mad, evil cunt but cunt is what she is and I wouldn't give a toss if her arse was introduced to the electric chair and, if she is repentant, nor should she!

Edited

What an odd take!

no one is condoning the act and saying it’s fine but it’s pretty clear she wasn’t an ‘evil’ person. Although the term evil has no place in a court of law. She’s not denying what she did.

the reason the case has resonated with so many women is that so many women (myself included) can see parts of our own story in hers, how many women have begged for help from partners and then to shrug and walk away, begged for help from health professionals to be dismissed, expected to just get on with it etc

Getalittle · 04/09/2026 20:23

It’s equally tragic as 3 children being strangled? No.

Its all tragic. Its not a competition.

BoredZelda · 04/09/2026 20:59

ModernV · 04/09/2026 18:05

I think it can be both. I don't doubt she had mental illness but I'm not convinced that's the reason for her actions. Millions of people suffer mental illnesses but we're not all out there killing children.

It’s almost like things affect people in different ways. Because some women do harm their children due to post natal depression. And some people with other mental illnesses do harm other people.

That’s like saying “I had a cold and never had a headache, so nobody with a cold can have a headache”

jesus. No, it isn’t all tragic. Not all tragedies are equal and trying to compare LCs mental health plight with the strangling of 3 children who were awake and knew what their mother was doing, is a really good example of the complete detachment LC supporters seem to have from what happened here.

Her husband did not just shrug and walk away FFS.

You haven't seen the endless youtube videos, tiktoks etc from (mostly) women who are obsessively trying to twist any and every fact of the case, and/or outright fabricate stuff, into an indication that it was the husband who either killed the children himself, got someone else to kill them, or somehow influenced Lindsay to kill them?

No. I don't do YouTube, TikTok etc.

BabyCat2020z · 04/09/2026 21:08

Her family/ partner were aware of her illness and levels of medication, yet she was left alone with her kids. Very unfair to blame her. There is no motive, no would ever want this to happen, it's a tragedy.

Conundrummum123 · 04/09/2026 21:09

IronEverything · 04/09/2026 21:05

Her husband did not just shrug and walk away FFS.

You can see in the clips who is the parent carrying the mental load.

he was told she was having thoughts of harming the children, she shouldn’t have been left alone with them

but my shrugging and walking away comment was a more general one about women/ mothers who often reach out for help in various places often a partner to not have the partner step up, it’s all over MN women struggling with sleep deprivation and the man saying he needs his sleep because he’s working, or won’t look after the children, won’t cook won’t clean etc

I don’t think she did it at all. I think he did it. He never expected her to survive.

I'm edging this way. Lots of dubious evidence. One example - she couldn't speak for days, yet when he found her, she told him the kids were in the basement.
She had a crushed thyroid - not usual with trying to cut the throat, but usually due to strangulation

Men commit 95% of family killings, and violent crime in general. They’ve got the reasoning down to a fine art, they also get lesser sentences than when on the rare occasion women do it

I think a lot of women see parts of their own story in hers (not the fall extent of course) but parts.

im happy to elaborate further on the personal aspects for myself but I don’t want to derail the thread and make it about me

I wonder how the jury was voting. Was the majority for guilty or not guilty?

And what are you basing your opinions of what psychosis looks like on? Because you made a very strong statement that she wasnt psychotic before or after. After working in psych hospitals for over a decade, I can tell you that the things being put forward here are not reliable signs of psychosis. And killing children in the grip of psychosis has been documented since we have had notions of mental health itself.

@CapeMylar - not guilty by reason of insanity is what we usually see represented in films, but it is incredibly difficult to get this - less than 1% of people who claim this are given this sentence. And in that case, they are likely to be hospitalized for an indefinite period. There is a plea of guilty but mentally ill in most states which is more likely. And no, it does not give you carte blanche to do what you like, because it still finds you guilty.

Where’s the evidence of any diagnosis of psychosis of LC either before or after the murders? As far as I’m aware, there is none. Have you seen otherwise?

Sewingbeedamned · 04/09/2026 21:13

Makkka · 04/09/2026 20:54

Surely acting normal suggests you are of some sound mind? It doesn’t mean you’re not suicidal or significantly depressed, because you hate your life but you don’t want other people to know so you pretend all is well. That’s not my understanding of psychosis.

A lot of people with psychosis have persecution themes so will be very motivated to keep things to themselves. But they usually cant keep it up over time, and if you are watching you start to see them responding to things, or they let stuff slip about what they are thinking. This is why you ideally want them in an inpatient setting with round the clock observations.

However, in this case she was very open about her MH struggles. To the person saying she was evil, and could have killed herself, she tried. And asked not to be resuscitated at the hospital.

And @Getalittle - the tragedy is that those deaths would not have happened if she had been taken seriously and given proper treatment. Hope that explains it clearly enough for you.

CloverAndGrass · 04/09/2026 21:15

StraightTalkingTina · 04/09/2026 19:28

Both of you think this because you have zero experience, qualifications or clinical exposure to actual psychosis generated from post partum
misdiagnosis and as a result prescribing medications that actually make this type of patient significantly worse.

Her mind was not her own. She had hallucinogenic delusions. Her behaviour was entirely symptomatic of a patient exposed to inappropriate meds and treatment that should have been detected.

whilst she carried out the actions, she wasn’t independently, determinately and autonomously responsible for those actions.

You are stating supposition as fact. But that doesn’t make it fact.
