Lindsay Clancy, what do we all think? Pure evil or mentally ill?

Malpractice!

I am again reminded of your earlier statement

I’m not a LC supporter, but I do acknowledge the legalities behind it.

You certainly are doing a good impression of a vehement LC supporter. Everyone is to blame (they should have known she was lying to them, and they should have guessed she was doctor shopping) except LC for the hideous, terrifying deaths of her three little children.

You haven’t engaged at all with the fact that PC blames the medical community that treated LC and not LC herself.

Who knows how he really feels. I think his feelings must be complex and contradictory and I have no desire to pretend to understand the enormity of how he really feels about the mother of his children tricking him into leaving the house, speaking on the phone with him mid-murdering them as if nothing was wrong, and leaving their bodies for him to find. He can cope with his torment and conflicting feelings however he wishes.

PC is not a qualified medical expert. I do not think his case will go anywhere as the opinions of the psychiatrists who saw her before at leading up the deaths all align. Jennifer Tufts did give her psychotherapy.

You stating that PC is suing for malpractice does not mean that malpractice has occurred. You have fallen for Reddington's theatrics by the sounds of it.

She was dishonest to her Drs about the treatment she sought, and seemed to think she was entitled to immediate effects from the medication despite the fact that she was told some of them take weeks to work.

Whatever PC's positioning on this, I could not state. The man has been through hell and he can feel how he wants.

And he has said very clearly what his stance is on it. The man is educated and articulate. He knew his wife better than anyone. He attended appointments with LC and was well aware of what was happening. You’re not a medical expert either but seem to have strong opinions. Don’t make the fact he’s been through hell and back be a reason to make him child-like and unable to make reasonable decisions or unable to challenge the medical community which he saw fail his wife first-hand, that’s offensive. He has his facilities and has stated repeatedly that he doesn’t blame LC. Either you’re a hypocrite, or that also makes him ‘shameful’.

A man in severe trauma who has lost his entire family does not and should not form the basis of an informed opinion in this case. Which is why you started the thread. Why are you getting angry when people don't agree with you?

I am sorry your 'LC is NGRI' house of cards is falling down around you. But that is what happens when you murder your kids and then lie about the fact that an unknown voice told you to do this. The lies are easy to unravel when you dissect the case.

Unfortunately, you and many others have become so invested in this emotive and heart breaking case that you have overlooked the pertinent facts. Reddington is muddying the waters, that is his job as a defence counsel. It does not mean we should believe it.

Well he’s made his opinions really clear and has said repeatedly he doesn’t blame LC and blames the people who treated her, so much so he’s suing them. You can’t get much clearer than that. It’s interesting that you believe LC was culpable although her motive was unknown, but when someone tells you exactly what they think you’re quick to say ‘who knows what he thinks’… everyone does because he’s said exactly what he thinks.

Not doubting he knew her. I said he is not a medical expert. He is a software salesperson. I have strong opinions on people who murder their children and try to lie their way out of it, yes.

I see you have not engaged with the mention of this earlier statement of yours either. Wouldn't this be what you might refer to as a "bare-faced lie"?

So now you’re speaking for PC saying he doesn’t have capacity? What?! That’s one of the most offensive things I’ve read on here regarding PC. You’re infantilising him and making is sound that because he went through something traumatic he doesn’t know what he’s talking about but a stranger on the internet who didn’t know LC does?

Are you OK? I said he is not a medical expert and his experience of the trauma he lived through should not be the basis of the case.

That is why there were approximately 80 witnesses who gave evidence, not just Patrick Clancy.

What a bizarre statement to imply that I think PC does not have capacity. I think you need to find a few more straws to clutch at.

Oh, so we can agree then that PC knew his wife, witnessed her mental decline and does have the capacity to attest that the medical community prescribed drugs that made LC worse? Great, because then we can move away from the whole ‘he’s so traumatised, who knows what he really thinks’ narrative.

And actually his testimony mattered a lot in the case. So much so that it was the prosecution that asked that he take the stand and it ended up being a goldmine for the defence.

But the statement stands, if you think I’m shameful you must think PC is shameful too as we agree on the cause.

Explain to me how that’s an illogical statement? Neither PC nor I blame LC, but the medical professionals who treated her. Yet I’m shameful because, apparently, that’s defending a child killer but PC isn’t? And it’s weird you keep adding these little comments without providing an intelligent argument to go with them.

How did they diagnose her with ppp after the event, presumably she was in no fit state to be interviewed so were they only backtracking and concluded she suffered with ppp based on opinion ? It was too late by then, and couldn't be proven either way surely.

So we also need to take into account the other facts and witnesses in the case, yes?

You somehow think because your biased and ill informed opinion aligns with the feelings of Patrick's, this therefore trumps all the other evidence in the case. It simply does not. But whilst I can accept his trauma leading him to this conclusion, the same cannot be said of you.

Despite all the evidence to the contrary, you simply want to believe that she was in psychosis. You ignore important details and testimony to support your viewpoint and it comes across as rather ignorant unfortunately.

Lindsay Clancy, what do we all think? Pure evil or mentally ill?

Why did you even ask this question if we are not allowed to think she is a low empathy person who murdered her children, and that mental illness does not excuse that fact?

Why ask this question if what you actually wanted was a bevy of not very bright handmaidens supporting LC? And also only those who had "watched the trial" - and somehow not managed to grasp what the trial was about...

It doesn't matter what anyone says, you just twist it to suit your agenda. And it is abundantly clear that despite saying "I’m not a LC supporter" that is all you are and a blind and rather uninformed one at that.

Neither can be proven indefinitely. Having a mental health disorder isn’t like having a broken leg which you can prove with an x-ray. That’s why it’s so complicated. She’s been getting treatment at a mental health facility since the killings and a few psychiatrics did diagnose her with PPP after the fact. I haven’t had a chance to watch their full testimony so I don’t know what process or perimeters they followed to do that, I just know that she had been formally diagnosed with PPP.

They were witnesses for the defence. That's just their opinion, and it is contradicted by the prosecution's psychiatrist witnesses, and also all the psychiatrists who actually treated her.

I'm not interested in that question. Is this this parasocial thing I keep hearing about? You don't actually know this man at all. Not sure why you're so obsessed with claiming to understand what he is really thinking and feeling.

And you haven't answered my question. You stated -

Isn't that a "bald-faced lie"?

All the psychiatrics involved in the case were either a witness for the prosecution or defence. And everyone of them based their diagnosis on professional opinion. I’m not sure what your point is.

I don’t need to try and understand what he’s thinking. He’s said what he thinks multiple times and it’s been well reported. There’s no second guessing going on.

So basically the diagnosis of ppp was retrospective and disputed by both sides, it can't be proven either way which is the crux of the whole case isn't it?
