Which jeans & top?

Heading out for a few drinks next Friday evening. Just to a few bars in town. Want to look casual and not like I’ve tried hard. Plan is to add gold jewellery and probably a black leather jacket or blazer.

I prefer light blue ripped jeans as I think the dark blue ones are too baggy at the back? Help me decide!

I should add, I am just going outwith colleagues hence why I don’t want to look too dressed up!

Lighter ones definitely. Fit better, more on trend, more summery.

Thank you. Would you stick with the top I’m wearing too?

I agree ..lighter ones. Navy and black don't look good together.

Casceres · 26/07/2026 19:21

I agree lighter jeans, think I'd go for a lighter colour top with them though if possible

Saintsgirl7 · 26/07/2026 19:34

The lighter jeans with the top you have on with them look great

Awcw1234 · 26/07/2026 19:45

Thank you. I think I’ll just stick with what I’ve chosen then. I’m overthinking it!

Lighter ones

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 26/07/2026 20:22

I do think the neckline needs something there like a necklace.

RubyHiker · 26/07/2026 20:25

Going against the grain, I like the darker jeans. The lighter are giving millenial mum

ramonaquimby · 26/07/2026 20:36

Nothing wrong with a millennium mum of course
I think the dark jeans look nice
Navy and black are a good pairing

Aluna · 26/07/2026 20:37

In this case the darker ones are much more chic, The lighter ones look like 80s snow-wash mom jeans.

The pale jeans look much better on you. But are you wearing black boots with them? They don’t look quite right. Do you have any ballet flats or anything like that?

I was planning to. Would normally wear trainers with wide jeans. Would ballet shoes go? 🤔

Lighter. The top and the shoes are not right.

OwlCalledSage · 26/07/2026 20:57

No to ballet shoes.

bittertwisted · 26/07/2026 20:59

Lighter ones but I hate black footwear
maybe tan/ nude/ white/ metallic

but perhaps it’s just a me thing 🤔

Any suggestions? 🙈

The shoes/boots are wrong. The top with the light jeans and black boots looks very 90s/early 2000s. Change the shoe to a pointed shoe or sandal.
personally I would go for a lighter top, the light jeans and a light coloured pointed toe shoe.

I’d wear trainers. I think anything but trainers with wide legs looks daft. And black shoes are rarely good with anything.

Something like this?

Trainers in a bar though on a Friday night? Most of my boots and pointy shoes are black 😆

Prefer the darker jeans personally!

OwlCalledSage · 26/07/2026 21:11

Absolutely trainers in a bar. That’s what virtually everyone will be wearing.

You’d be surprised. It’s summer. You can also dress up a trainers look tbh and look pretty trendy and nice!
