Which jeans & top?

Heading out for a few drinks next Friday evening. Just to a few bars in town. Want to look casual and not like I’ve tried hard. Plan is to add gold jewellery and probably a black leather jacket or blazer.

I prefer light blue ripped jeans as I think the dark blue ones are too baggy at the back? Help me decide!

Depends on the bar and where you are in the country but I agree on trainers. The smart shoes look exactly like you've made an effort, which isn't what you want.

First photo, bag from last photo (assuming that’s a different one with strap not chain?), blazer, trainers. No belt. Haven’t seen jeans with rips for years!

I have only just bought the jeans! Brand new.

Trainers are fine if they are like the photo - spezials or sambas that type. Definitely not chunky running trainers.

Pointed shoes look best with wide leg no round toe. The boots work if the were a light colour not black and pointed toe but really the length of the jeans should be cropped and the boots have a tight shaft which goes underneath the hem.
Black boots would be ok with a black top and blazer

I like the dark jeans and I would wear with a slightly cropped boxy white t-shirt. I don't think the light wash do anything for you. They look dated but not in a.good way.

They are from River Island. I got them ages ago and still haven’t worn them. Feel like they are too baggy at the back? Unfortunately the size below was too tight 🙄

Definitely the darker ones. I’m not keen on the light ones (and I usually prefer light denim), I agree with the comment above that they look dated and not in a purposeful way.

The lighter ones are too tight especially around the crotch. Have to agree they look dated.

I agree with this. The light ones look dated.

Ideally the jeans would be a shorter length and the pointed boots need a tight shaft around the ankle (no gap between the top of the boot and hem)
but try the pointed shoe and see what it looks like. The top will look ok with a blazer over it but maybe not on its own with the light jeans.
Try the pointed shoes/boots with the dark jeans as the style can pull off that kind of top on its own more.

edited to add - shorter length is quite cropped above the ankle don’t wear boots with ankle length trousers

Much prefer the darker jeans. Think you need a wider belt. I don’t like black and denim but the 20-30s at work wear it all the time.
Trainers are fine unless you’re going to nice bars. Mary Jane flats seem to be popular if you're buying.

Jeans and black shoes (especially with heels!) look very dated together. The skin tight black top with jeans also doesn’t work. Looser clothing with flats/ trainers gives a much more current look. A nice white boxy t shirt under your jacket would look great.

Can’t imagine ever wearing boots in July!

The belt is too thin and ripped jeans are really dated.

What other tops do you have OP?

Personally I’d wear the wide legs with sambas and a more cropped body style top, accesorising with a chunky necklace or earrings (not both together)

Or I’d wear the lighter jeans with mesh type flats, an oversize shirt and some gold accessories. I would potentially turn up the bottom of the jeans to get proportions right.
Oh and no belt with either jeans!

I agree that the dark jeans look too baggy. You will get so many differing opinions on here OP, really it's best to just go with what YOU think looks best. No matter what others think, if you don't really like what you choose you won't feel at your best, no matter how "trendy" the clothing.

I think the darker jeans in the first pic are nicer! (The lighter jeans look a bit tight around your hips/groin)

Top is fine.

Shoes - nope! Trainers if you’re going to casual pubs. But if you’re going to more fancier bars then I’d wear some heeled sandals.
