A LETTER sent to Met Police in 2018 warning them that Thomas Markle Snr was a child abuser DOES exist, The Sun can reveal.

Meghan claims she was shown a letter containing the allegations in 2018 Credit: Getty
However, the Met Police said on Friday they were unable to confirm whether any letter had ever been shared with her.
But The Sun has seen a copy of the bombshell letter sent to a specialist Met protection unit.
It is clearly addressed to the Met’s Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (FTAC), which deals with risks posed by obsessives to the Royal Family and VIPs.
The letter – which it’s understood has now been shared with police – alleges that Mr Markle had sexually abused a child.to confirm the royal protection unit passed on the letter .The author also claimed in the letter that Mr Markle had admitted going to the Philippines and Thailand to abuse children.

Yes, it’s going to be horrendous for her. She gets so much stick for no reason so unfairly and now this.

Edited

Yes gets stick for good reason. But yes of course if this is true then that's not great for her and unsurprised if this is the reason she's distanced herself

This is the one time that Meghan needed to stay quiet, instead she's had her PR race off to the media with an "I knew" statement and I have a feeling that this is going to massively backfire on her...

Agree 100%. Her statement was arguably out too quickly to be watertight from every imaginable angle. I can’t help feel that it’s got potential to seriously backfire.

PumpkinPieAlibi · 23/10/2026 20:08

Benjithedog · 23/10/2026 18:23

You don’t need to know her personally. Her numerous interviews have spoken for themselves.

I mean sure if that's what you believe, but if you're allowed to draw conclusions about her based on interviews why was I not allowed to make assumptions based on the same criteria?

Fwiw (and this isn't directed at you in aprticular) I think it's pretty parasocial to think we know people and their intentions or personalities from the little we see of them in the media and press. We are all projecting our own assumptions, biases and experiences unto them.

Damnedidont · 23/10/2026 20:10

Not sure what to make of this. Either she knew but did nothing about it , or she didn't in which case why is she saying she was protecting her children by severing contact?

As you say, they were rumours in 2018. Not allegations that warranted an investigation, just rumours. I'm not defending TMS in the slightest but he's being branded the very worst of criminals in the court of public opinion and we only have his dodgy son's word for what was found in those boxes that TMS hadn't had access to for two years.

Yes but if there was a letter in circulation then surely as journalists, especially journalists who have spent so much time endlessly scrutinising MM would have had an inkling. I agree. at the very least they look like idiots sitting by the bedside of this man

NautilusLionfish · 23/10/2026 20:11

StandingStones · 23/10/2026 19:03

'People' are held accountable? Surely it's only one person, if indeed the allegations are true?

The Met, if they were told and did nothing, should be held accountable. Those who knew within the Met.
And lets say the Met knew and wanted to investigate but Palace quashes it so they are not embarrassed, they they should be held accountable. Am not saying the Palace knew bu wouldnt put it past them given their handling of Andrew's behaviour

CoffeeCantata · 23/10/2026 18:38

Meghan has shown many times that she thinks the British population is stupid…well, peasants, really.

I know you don't like her but that's a pretty big leap and sounds a little bit like projecting.

If anything, it's the royal family who clearly believe in the concept of peasants and commoners 😅

What the Sun has just published is a bombshell - this happened when Meghan was inside the fold and I would have thought subject to Palace advice and discipline. If they suggested that this should be kept quiet then we know where the blame lies.

She did say she had no idea who Harry was, which given she was supposed to be obsessed (and still is) with Diana, seems strange.

I may be misremembering but I think she said she didn't know who Andrew was (and honestly that's pretty understandable, I'm from a Commonwealth country - most people here have NO clue about the royal family beyond the Waleses, Sussexes and maybe Charles).

As it relates to Harry, the full quote is "Because I'm from the States, you don't grow up with the same understanding of the royal family. And so while I now understand very clearly there's a global interest there, I didn't know much about him."

Also, why are we assuming she was obsessed with Diana? Because of the poster? Do we also assume Kate was obsessed with William because of the supposed poster in her room?

Because the MM haters have been "divorcing" this couple for many years.

People are crazy wishing them divorce. I always wish everyone has a happy marriage. Not realistic I know but would be wonderful.
Harry and Meghan always seem so in love and very much supportive of each other. Why do people think they should divorce. Its crazy

Are you suggesting that M has been lying in her many interviews and the NF documentary then?

I mean, if you say we cannot draw conclusions from what she said with her own lips? Call me stupid but I listened and believed she was telling me the truth.

Gosh!!

I don't know, they seem very well suited, and there are young children involved as well and they both like the same kind of lifestyle.

Mesky · 23/10/2026 20:05

They have confirmed they are looking for the letter, but they are not and never have investigated Thomas Markle.

A spokesman from the Met has subsequently told GB News: "We are aware of media reports that officers from the Met's Royalty and Specialist Protection Command were involved in the passing on of a letter in 2018.

"We are undertaking enquiries internally in an effort to confirm this."

GB News understands the Met Police has not and is not currently investigating Thomas Markle Sr.

Yeah. Thats very different from your earlier statement at 18:10 that Met had denied it

I don’t want them to divorce because they are parents to young children.

But I don’t fall for the lovey-dovey act either. M is way, way too performative with the PDAs and doe-eyed looks to be believable. I don’t buy that they’re blissfully happy, but that not the same as wishing divorce on them.

The only thing I would add about Andrew is that Meghan told us that she knew Eugenie before she met Harry, so she must have known who her Dad was?

Well as many posters like to proudly say the rf never complain never explain ....so it tracks

MerryAquaKoala · 23/10/2026 20:25

Ok so the latest is the letter is real ' and it had been sent to the Met’s FTAC stalker and obsessive unit tasked with dealing with deranged maniacs posing a threat to Royals and politicians' (the sun)

So an alleged deranged maniac sent a letter suggesting this and they informed Meghan as a matter of course. Obv decided it was a deranged maniac after looking into it, and it went no further. And Markle - all of the royals - must've been told this too.

Now the brother has made new allegations which have not been proven.

And markle made her weird statement today for reasons tbd..

No, I haven't said anything of the sort, you're making some very broad leaps and assumptions based on your own bias.

Where have I implied that she's lying? I have looked at the same interviews and have drawn different conclusions to the previous poster, so I think it's fair to say our own preconceived notions inform our opinions and conclusions.

I am self-aware enough to know that I don't know any of these people and never will but I don't enjoy seeing someone insulted, mocked and hounded for no reason. There are so many worse people and things out there to focus on and of all the things, millions of middle-aged women chose...Meghan Markle! She's not even that interesting.

That's why I was disputing someone who came at me saying only Thomas snr is accountable. No. If someone with power to investigate or push for investigation, whether Met or Palace failed, they should be held accountable too

Let's make an assumption that an obviously deranged letter wouldn't get passed on and that the Met would have assumed the information that had come into their possesion had legs. Otherwise they would have been delivering bags of mail to Meghan at that time given her heightened profile.

She has told ridiculous lies which any idiot could see through…yet she expects us to believe them.

She announced to the world that her wedding, which cost 3O+million was meaningless to her…it was just “a spectacle for the masses”.

Wish she’d said that in the first place instead of trying to demand as grand a wedding as WaC.

She thinks we’re as ignorant as she is.

I'd read it was Harry she didn't know of. And that the only thing she asked of her friend who was setting them up on a blind date was "Is he kind?"

Her childhood friend said she was obsessed with Diana.

Why are you bringing Catherine into anything?

CantBeArsedToThinkOfAName · 23/10/2026 20:44

This just gets more fishy.

So that reputable rag the Sun has seen this letter but the Met are still trying to find it, so whoever gave it to The Sun must be within the inner circle of the people it was shared with.

Meghan must have a copy as she said in her statement it was 'shared with her'.

Strange that it would be shared by the Sun only after her 'estranged' brother reported their father to the police in the Philippines in the presence of a Sun journalist 8 years later.

When Thomas Jr. reported the allegations to local police in Cebu, Philippines, The Sun was present to capture the moment firsthand. The tabloid published an exclusive, front-page story on the allegations alongside photographs showing Thomas Jr. physically signing his sworn police statement at the station.
