@RedTagAlan - "She had a platform to tell people, to warn people, to educate people. But now, for some reason, going by her statement today, it appears she decided to lie about it for 8 years. Her story about going NC I mean.

Surely, if she had this information while she was advocating for child online safety, to protect children from sexual expolitation, she would have used it. Because what a powerful bit of information to get her message accross."

  1. If it was being investigated, she would have been advised not to talk about it
  2. People would have 100% crucified her for talking against her father, especially about a topic like this. They'd say she was milking it for attention, let's not pretend otherwise. I mean, just look at this thread. She's being treated as though she's culpable despite having nothing to do with the man for 8 years.

I wish people would just be honest with themselves and admit they hate her (which I suppose is their right) rather than twist themselves into knots pretending that their hate is justified because of something she's done.

Lampzade · 23/10/2026 17:45

It is all beginning to make sense now . Thomas Markle snr did not attend the wedding because he was concerned that the UK media would find some dirt on him.
He conspired with the UK media to destroy his own daughter because he didn’t want anyone poking into his business and discovering that he was a pervert .
His supposed heart attack gave him an excuse to avoid the wedding .
Karma may be delayed but it never forgets an address

MerryAquaKoala · 23/10/2026 17:45

IdaGlossop · 23/10/2026 17:36

They cut him off in 2018, the year of the wedding. @MerryAquaKoala has got her facts confused.

😆sorry yes- 2018/ When she also wrote her dear daddy letter for the eyes of the world.

If it was your Dad what would you have done...

It was my late and very unlamented father in law in my case. There was no actionable proof and I was not having my tiny 3 year old child questioned. DH informed his siblings and cut off all contact with him immediately. My children never met him, ever.

Snowyowl99 · 23/10/2026 17:46

OrangeFlower14 · 23/10/2026 01:06

Imagine finding that out about your dad… worse than the situation for Prince Andrew’s kids

But her sister also had her children taken away, didn’t she?

WTF is going on with those two. Feel really sorry for Meghan.

Eh...what about innocent until proven guilty. There was a terrible case in our town, man accused of similar, it was all a hoax in the end but some people just immediately jumped to conclusions til it was all sorted out
So let's see how it goes evidence wise
This guy local to me had a mental breakdown. It was awful for his family too

Nanny0gg · 23/10/2026 17:47

For the first time ever I feel sorry for Meghan. He is not her responsibility

? Where is it stated that there was a 2018 investigation?

MM's statement included the following:

"In 2018, a letter was sent to the Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection. That letter was subsequently shared with me. It made troubling and disturbing allegations against my father and I was given assurances that these were being investigated."

StandingStones · 23/10/2026 17:47

toiletpaperthief · 23/10/2026 17:40

I don't believe for one second this very very famous person would go out in public and state she had been contacted by the Met police if this was not true.

Well for one, she publicly stated that she'd not collaborated on the 'Finding Freedom' book but then had to admit in court that she'd 'forgotten' that she had briefed the author.....

Lampzade · 23/10/2026 17:48

Btw has anyone heard anything from Lady Colin Campbell?. The self same person who referred to Thomas Markle snr as a ‘decent’ man and accused Meghan of not taking care of him .

MerryAquaKoala · 23/10/2026 17:48

MerryAquaKoala · 23/10/2026 17:24

'If she knew about these allegations in 2018, why hasn’t she spoken before? '

She didn't know any such allegations in 2018. Made up to give herself the NC excuse. She didn't want him at her wedding in 2016. They cut him off in 2016.

*2018 obviously sorry! (when they got married)

Oh you believe what Meghan said? The met police said no such investigation. Shocker.

PumpkinPieAlibi · 23/10/2026 17:51

Benjithedog · 23/10/2026 17:38

Have you met her?

That's your rebuttal to my question? I mean, don't get me wrong I agree. I don't know her but neither does a single detractor here. Might as well shut the whole royal family forum down then.

Why don't you ask the poster I was quoting if she met Meghan, since she knows enough to call her a 'vacuous fool'?

Or is it a requirement to know her personally in order to give her the benefit of the doubt but insulting her requires nothing more than reading a DM article?

😆Tis but a detail...

Like the fact she said she had no idea about the royal family but then we see a photo of her and friend outside BP - and an ex friend tells us MM had a photo of Diana on her bedroom wall.

Butteredtoast55 · 23/10/2026 17:53

BoreOfWhabylon · 23/10/2026 16:57

It's being reported (LBC & BBC) that Met Police say there is not and has not been any investigation into allegations against TM.
They are now investigation the whole story of the letter, who received it and whether it was shared with MM

Maybe the Archbishop of Canterbury dropped it off when he conducted the real wedding in their back yard?

Her exact words were “Because I'm from the States, you don't grow up with the same understanding of the Royal Family.”

She never said she had 'no idea about the royal family'

Tis but a detail after all...

She said she'd never heard of Harry and didn't know who he was. And we all know that many Americans are obsessed with the RF, much more so than the british

I don't hate anyone. I am looking at this objectively and applying logic. But it appears you are using emotive terms in your reply to me.

To reply to your points, Quote : "If it was being investigated, she would have been advised not to talk about it"

An 8 year investigation? A high profile one at that, on one of the most high profile crimes ? While he changes countries, shipping boxes of evidence?

Quote " People would have 100% crucified her for talking against her father, especially about a topic like this."

Nah. I can't see that at all. I would imagine there would be loads of sympathy.

OkHog · 23/10/2026 18:02

MyPurpleHeart · 23/10/2026 16:37

Imagine knowing your father watches child abuse material and saying absolutely nothing about it for 8 years

and then making an entire Netflix series about how your mean in laws didnt teach you to curtsey

I think not speaking on it directly was the right choice if it was under investigation. She’s not obligated to speak on her estranged father, she’s made it clear she doesn’t want anything to do with him.

But yes, it makes slagging off the in-laws seem petty and trivial.

I do feel for her, I wouldn’t want to join the RF and I’d be ashamed to be part of the Markle mess also.

JuliaBraverman · 23/10/2026 18:03

PumpkinPieAlibi · 23/10/2026 17:38

Was this another docuseries? Because in the Harry & Meghan Netflix series, she made a joke about herself - specifically about how she didn't know how to curtsey and how she felt like she mucked it up. The exaggerated curtsy was a comic reenactment of her own confusion at the time. She was essentially saying, “I had no idea what I was doing and I'm suddenly expected to curtsey to the Queen!”

Yet you turned that into being 'outraged about having to curtsey to the Queen'? What? You people will find fault in anything she does because you have made up your minds to hate someone you've never met.

I didn’t see it like that

IdaGlossop · 23/10/2026 18:03

MerryAquaKoala · 23/10/2026 17:45

😆sorry yes- 2018/ When she also wrote her dear daddy letter for the eyes of the world.

That letter demolishes the assertions in today's statement. Her main difficulty is that previous lies have been discovered.

PistachioTiramisu · 23/10/2026 18:06

None of this changes my opinion of her (or Harry) in the slightest. Awful disrespectful people.
