So now the Met have disputed Meghan’s claims the Met police said her father was being investigated. Hopefully the Met police can find the letter because otherwise it means her whole statement is incorrect rather than just 50% of it.

@RedTagAlan - "She had a platform to tell people, to warn people, to educate people. But now, for some reason, going by her statement today, it appears she decided to lie about it for 8 years. Her story about going NC I mean.

Surely, if she had this information while she was advocating for child online safety, to protect children from sexual expolitation, she would have used it. Because what a powerful bit of information to get her message accross."

  1. If it was being investigated, she would have been advised not to talk about it
  2. People would have 100% crucified her for talking against her father, especially about a topic like this. They'd say she was milking it for attention, let's not pretend otherwise. I mean, just look at this thread. She's being treated as though she's culpable despite having nothing to do with the man for 8 years.

I wish people would just be honest with themselves and admit they hate her (which I suppose is their right) rather than twist themselves into knots pretending that their hate is justified because of something she's done.

Edited
  • There was no investigation
  • She never followed up to see if there was an investigation
  • She hasn’t provided any evidence that she had legal advice that precluded her from speaking out
  • She had millions in the bank to hire the best lawyers if she did get sued

It is all beginning to make sense now . Thomas Markle snr did not attend the wedding because he was concerned that the UK media would find some dirt on him.
He conspired with the UK media to destroy his own daughter because he didn’t want anyone poking into his business and discovering that he was a pervert .
His supposed heart attack gave him an excuse to avoid the wedding .
Karma may be delayed but it never forgets an address

The guy was actually in a US hospital. We don't have NHS in the US. No hospital is going to keep him in if he doesn't need treatment as his health insurance won't pay for it. I know it's hard to believe but US doctors are capable of diagnosing two heart attacks.

The thing is I don’t really care what you think, asking questions isn’t being disingenuous, time wasting? That’s a new one. Still waiting for an answer though.

Wafflesandcoffee
It would appear you do care.

Your posts are boring and repetitive. We want to read the thread, not your utterly time wasting posts.

Btw has anyone heard anything from Lady Colin Campbell?. The self same person who referred to Thomas Markle snr as a ‘decent’ man and accused Meghan of not taking care of him .

She is hideous. I expect Paul Burrell will be making a statement soon.

TheTwerkingDuchessOfMonteshitshow · 23/10/2026 18:17

@BemusedAmerican hi there, I meant to say in the other thread that in the Phillipines we even had to pay for the cans of oxygen my friend needed. She had to be in the little house we had, there was no other place for her, but we had to pay for her big canisters of oxygen all the same. It’s very hard place to live and die.

An old white man living in the Philippines or Thailand is always an immediate red flag to me. Sorry but it is.

The press are reporting on this story in a very restrained way. I have a feeling something big and nasty is brewing. Meghan should not have prematurely released a self serving statement. If she thought her father was a child abuser to the extent she cut contact, she should, as a member of the royal family, have been asking questions and ensuring an investigation proceeded and the queen/king/palace machine should have been informed. At first I thought this was just more Markle drama but now I’m unsure. This is potentially a scandal that exceeds Andrew.

For the first time ever I feel sorry for Meghan. He is not her responsibility

So do I. She must have died a hundred deaths the day the police visited her. But should she try to muddy the water with her timeline every bit of sympathy I have for her that day will go right out the window. It’s still sticking in my throat that she left the RF without a name yet all the while there was a personal situation that could easily have caused the depression she’s mentioned.

And to the poster who commented on Thomas Markle/Lady Campbell - we don’t know that Thomas Markle isn’t a decent man. Innocent until proven guilty and all that.

OrangeFlower14 · 23/10/2026 01:19

Yes, it’s going to be horrendous for her. She gets so much stick for no reason so unfairly and now this.

Edited

I have already seen criticism of her online over this (for not denouncing him.)

They’re even doing it here 🙄

BemusedAmerican · 23/10/2026 18:22

For us it really depends on your health insurance plan. My father got a great plan through his job when I was in college so my sister actually saw a doctor when she was sick. For me, my mother just shipped me off to school since she could not afford the doctor visit. My school nurse had a few arguments with her.

An investigation was ensuring. Apparently she was told about such claims about her father in 2018 and was told it was being investigated. What more is there for her to do at that point.

That's your rebuttal to my question? I mean, don't get me wrong I agree. I don't know her but neither does a single detractor here. Might as well shut the whole royal family forum down then.

Why don't you ask the poster I was quoting if she met Meghan, since she knows enough to call her a 'vacuous fool'?

Or is it a requirement to know her personally in order to give her the benefit of the doubt but insulting her requires nothing more than reading a DM article?

You don’t need to know her personally. Her numerous interviews have spoken for themselves.

PumpkinPieAlibi · 23/10/2026 17:57

Her exact words were “Because I'm from the States, you don't grow up with the same understanding of the Royal Family.”

She never said she had 'no idea about the royal family'

Tis but a detail after all...

She did say she had no idea who Harry was, which given she was supposed to be obsessed (and still is) with Diana, seems strange.

But was it being investigated? This is as yet unproven. But either way, all these years later and she doesn’t ask for an update or consider using her power and influence to protect babies from sexual predators? She just protects her own children? Are we being spun more lies?

I’m not a police officer nor is she so how would I know. It would only be based on what the police share. If the police failed to do their job that’s on the police.

How can it be a scandal that exceeds Andrew, unless the RF told the police not to investigate it? Which is quite likely since they clearly didn't bother investigating Andrew, despite having access to decades of information about him. She may be lying through her teeth but maybe she thought that as nothing had come of it there was not enough evidence. It's not her job to play poirot with her father. It would have been the US authorities.

I am referring to the British justice system and the way in which that operates.

But you already know this.

What has the British justice system got to do with this? It has nothing to do with this.

I don’t think that was what you were referring to, actually either.

The palace don’t have that authority to do that and I highly doubt they would have stopped any investigation in to Thomas Markle

nocoolnamesleft · 23/10/2026 18:32

Okay, I owe Meghan an apology. I thought it was a bit cruel the way he was cut out. But if she knew about this, she was right to choose to protect her children. Safeguarding should always be a priority.

Really? They managed to silence any investigation about Andrew for 20 years and would have continued to do so if they hadn't been forced to act by the US release of materials about him.
