"It's almost certain the Met shared the info with her because after her wedding, she was a member of the royal family. If she had been Meghan actress, they wouldn't have cared shit."

Why would the Metropolitan Police of London notify an American resident - as Meghan would have been if she hadn't married Harry - of allegations against her father?

"Meghan has no relationship with her father or siblings from before the wedding. How on earth could she kept quiet about allegations she didn't know about?"

So, the breakdown in her relationship with her father has nothing to do with the 2018 letter then. But she implies in her statement that it is the reason why she is estranged from her father.

Are you daft?

Why would the Metropolitan Police of London notify an American resident - as Meghan would have been if she hadn't married Harry - of allegations against her father?

The Met wouldn't have notified Meghan if she was just an American actress. Police don't notify relatives of investigations about people. They notified her because she became a member of the royal family when she married Harry. It's part of the security services information the royal family receives. Which makes the looking the other way with Andrew for decades even more damning

I’ve not actually read a harry and Megan thread before as I thought it would be batshit

it is. Wow. How are there so many posters with such an absolute blind hatred of them (well… Megan) that there is absolutely no logic to the twists and turns they make to have her be to blame, at fault and just an awful person.

it’s absolutely wild.

It’s actually insane isn’t it? I’m not even a fan and think some of their actions have been stupid and naive but I also don’t see them on a level with say Ian Brady and Myra Hindley.

No, I'm not daft. But, perhaps you could tell me what happened with the 2018 investigtion that Meghan had put so much trust in. There was no arrest of Thomas Markle, no issue of an extradition warrant for him. Did the 2018 investigation conclude, then, that he was innocent of the allegations?

threetrainers · 23/10/2026 15:58

We can take Meghan at face value, however, and believe what she said. In that case, what happened to the investigation of the 2018 allegations that she spoke about? Thomas Markle was never arrested, no extradition warrant was issued for him. Does that mean the 2018 investigation concluded that he did no wrong and the allegations were false?

Are you expecting Meghan to answer the above? If so why? She won’t have being carrying out the investigation will she?

You also do not have to be a fan to disagree that she facilitated child abuse 🙄

why wouldn’t she trust the investigation? The investigation isn’t her responsibility & why on earth would you expect a poster to inform you about the investigation 😆

You are missing point entirely so I will reiterate what I said before you better make sure your own family is beyond clean before you critique another. And there was no proof of Harry’s claims which he kept changing the narrative of and then denied the RF were racist. His words not mine.

You think she can’t say her husbands family had concerns about their child’s skin colour because she knew her dad might be a paedo? Of course she can. She wouldn’t have been able to reveal the information about her father as it was a police matter and she’d have obviously have been advised not to. You can’t just go around accusing people of crimes unless you want to potentially be in a lot of trouble yourself and ruin any potential case against him.

Talking about her husbands family having concerns about her own baby’s skin colour is nothing like comparable to the other situation.

It’s madness that you think it is, but maybe that’s your own agenda, to make Meghan the bad one?

There is a group on here that spend their days slagging Meghan off about jam and other silly things. Maybe you are in with them?

Making Meghan the bad guy on this issue isn’t going to work. She’s done nothing wrong but people will do the mental gymnastics to make it fit. As I said, it’s madness and some people are showing themselves up today.

Yep, I've always seen it as a coverted combo of racism and misoginy. Besides giving her diamond studded middle finger to a very British institution and not feeling one once bad about it I don't understand what else she's done to turn her into public enemy number one in the UK. This woman really came from nothing and has really done well for herself which is something I applaud frankly, it does seem bother the English a lot. I guess people here are pissed because she should have "known her place" and dedicate her life to being pretty and smiling (like Catherine?), become some sort of tragic figure like her deceased mother in law but instead she decided to take control of her own narrative, how dare she?!

Dumbest post on the thread up to now.

Came from nothing? Privately educated, given a leg up into her chosen work via firstly her father, then the various partners she used.

She has brought nothing but trouble to her in laws and has carried out a character assassination on the woman she had in her sights before she even met her.

Horrible person - you will never convince me that Meghan is a good person - she creates pain, embarrassement, upset and drama everywhere she goes.

"Horrible person - you will never convince me that Meghan is a good person - she creates pain, embarrassement, upset and drama everywhere she goes."

When someone is so entrenched in their views that they admit no new information or facts can change their opinion - especially about someone or something they have NEVER met - it really does underscore how much of a witch hunt this woman has been subjected to.

And who's the woman who endured the 'character assassination'? Kate? Because Kate couldn't have possibly been the one to instigate the crying nonsense? Even though Meghan called Kate 'a good person' and tried to clear her own name? I guess Kate's way is better - brief the press nastily about your SIL instead. Covert character assassination is preferable.

I am an not a particular fan but Meghan cannot win. One day, when a nuclear bomb is detonated, someone, somewhere will link it back to Meghan.😂

Meghan didn't put any trust in any investigation. When she married Harry she received information from the Met regarding her father, a man she had not invited to her wedding and cut the relatioship with prior to the wedding and the Met allegations.

Some of you need to stop the hating Meghan. It's become a pathological issue in forums and social media.

No, I'm not expecting Meghan to answer what happened to the 2018 investigation. I also have no idea why you're alleging I implied anything of the kind in your last sentence.

What I'm asking is: if there was an investigation of Thomas Markle in 2018 then what happened with that investigation? Because the fact that no action has been taken against him suggests that the investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing on his part.

The only reason we know about this 2018 investigation that seems to have led nowhere is because Meghan mentioned it. What were the findings of the investigation? Why is Meghan mentioning an investigation that appears to have found nothing? Was he cleared?

I always wondered if there was CSA around him because the cut off was so total. However, she did - perhaps with pressure from social media - write to him after him amputation. She has now released a statement that she was made aware in 2018 and thought police were investigating. Questions should be asked about what the Met have been doing since they knew. Others will question and perhaps rightly so, why she was happy to accuse the RF (rightly so) of racisms or unconscious bias but never said a word about what her dad might be doing wrong. Because it didnt affect her? Because he could have been continuing to offend in the last 6 years especially given his locales: Thailand, Philippines, Mexico. A difficult position for her to be in in any case. Kudos to Thomas JR for dobbing him. At the very least, it pushes an investigation and hopefully the truth will come out . However, him accessing the files could compromise the investigation. Hopefully the truth!

Hahaha as if you lot would believe her. Very serious allegations which shee could even have been a victim of and yet here you are still trying to blame her, beggars belief? You do realise her father was the alleged perpetrator not her?

Dweetfidilove · 23/10/2026 16:05

Noodledog · 23/10/2026 13:20

She doesn't need to apologise for him, obviously. What she should have done is try to protect his potential child victims. She did not. She's culpable for that total failure.

What do know of her knowledge and actions?

What did you expect her to do differently?

Given she's declared an evil liar who tarnished family reputations and is monstrous towards her father and his ither (seemingly) ill-bred children, how would she have delivered this message to the public?

Would she have been correct/believed then, given people are arguing now about whether her brother is being truthful in his allegations?

Janiie · 23/10/2026 16:10

'She will have been advised, legally, to not put it into the public domain. It is for the police to investigate. We can’t just go around accusing people of a crime because a random person said so. We all have to rely on the police to do their work'

She could have said 'there are reasons I'm nc but restrictions in what I can say'

Nothing happened after the 'letter' in 2018 did it?

These recent allegations by her batshit half brother are yet to be investigated let alone proven so maybe stand down?

She has jumped a bit too quickly on this convenient excuse to be nc with her df.

How would you feel if your child had been abused and then you discovered that someone had known they were likely a danger, known for 8 years and had nothing other than keep their own kids away. Someone with a lot of power and influence who prides herself on 'calling out' or 'shining a light' on anything she sees as wrong including things as petty as unenthusiastic lipgloss sharing. How would you feel?

She reported it, do you want her to arrest him herself, people like you would say she's a liar! I love the way people like you are blaming her instead of the actual perpetrator absolutely shameless!

The wife beating coke head went on Big Brother. 😆

I refer you to my previous response to the mention of this relative.
As I said then we all have more distant relations who may not be as we’d wish them. My very respectable professional and caring friend has a cousin who murdered a disabled person.

Yeah, you're right, Meghan didn't put any trust in the investigation because she seems to be ignoring the fact that the investigation took no action against her father.

Commenting on a statement that someone put out and wants the world to hear is not "hate" or "pathological".

It was 2018. There was a letter, that was all we know.

The sussexes would have been very able and I dare say quite happy to say 'there is an ongoing investigation so we cannot comment on why we are nc with TM'.

IdaGlossop · 23/10/2026 16:22

I doubt that Meghan's statement was run by a lawyer. It assumes her father is guilty.
