This is. without a doubt, one of the most revolting threads I've been unfortunate enough to read on MN. You're right, would have been difficult for an adult married to a Prince to try to take action protect children from a potential paedophile. Who cares about the children, right? Won't someone think of the Princess!

If it was your Dad what would you have done...

toiletpaperthief · 23/10/2026 13:49

Ickkkkkk · 23/10/2026 13:31

The really awful thing is that I’m not shocked. Meghan will ALWAYS be wrong on this board.

Yep, I've always seen it as a coverted combo of racism and misoginy. Besides giving her diamond studded middle finger to a very British institution and not feeling one once bad about it I don't understand what else she's done to turn her into public enemy number one in the UK. This woman really came from nothing and has really done well for herself which is something I applaud frankly, it does seem bother the English a lot. I guess people here are pissed because she should have "known her place" and dedicate her life to being pretty and smiling (like Catherine?), become some sort of tragic figure like her deceased mother in law but instead she decided to take control of her own narrative, how dare she?!

PrincessScarlett · 23/10/2026 13:49

All those saying Meghan should have done something, how do any of us know what she has or hasn't done? She could have been trying to bring this to light but without proof she would have been advised not to. Particularly being a member of the royal family they would definitely not wanting her shouting from the rooftops about child abuse. The police may have assured her it was all all being investigated and for her not to do anything as it might jeopardise any court case.

LifeIsTooShort247 · 23/10/2026 13:48

She should of single handley dismantled the pedophile rings around the world, its only way she could protect all the children. Then just like in Minority Report she should of been able to read peoples minds and go stop them before they commit any child abuse offences. Even then it would not be enough for some people.

No she didn't have to do any of that but the Dear Daddy letter the year after, really? Sound convincing to you?

threetrainers · 23/10/2026 13:50

@PrincessScarlett but you are bringing logic into the equation whereas some just want to use as an excuse to bash her.

Well you said she should of done more, then you responded saying you don't know what more but then keep going on she should of so nwo I am asking you what you would do in that situation because surely your actions would be a good example..

threetrainers · 23/10/2026 13:51

@Noodledogi'm curious too, if you knew it was being investigated what would you have done. How would you restrict his travel for example?

did nothing about it when she was in a position of power and influence.

Back that up please?

The fact that you find positives in her behaviour is evidence of a complete inability on your part to empathise with victims of CSA.

Massive reach, based, like the above, on what exactly?

I do not find negative or positive in MM behaviour; your posts on the other hand ...

Your standard for evidence is very poor.

Fuck off

No.

Last engagement from me to you @Noodledog . I have to respect myself.

@LifeIsTooShort247 there won’t be an answer obviously

GoodGirlFaith · 23/10/2026 13:52

This story was always going to whip up hysteria online but anyone accusing TM of being a wrong-un at this stage is massively out of order. Anyone criticising Meghan for 'not speaking out' on it needs to think that accusation through.

All allegations and investigations at this stage. This story will all go away, anyway as the allegations are not true IMO.

Well seeing as though the press never reported anything, then I can assume nothing much ame of said investigations that were taking place. The media complicit in all the awful headlines about her going NC then when its reported about his health piling on with more, the comments you would see on social media, seems like a person would feel alot of pressure to write a letter. Grind someone down enough...

I’m actually shocked at the depths people are going to today, it’s embarrassing to MNs

Nobody is a mind reader. What has shocked you ?

threetrainers · 23/10/2026 13:55

Anyone criticising Meghan for 'not speaking out' on it needs to think that accusation through

it’s the thinking bit that some struggle with.

Lockupyourbiscuits · 23/10/2026 13:56

I don’t think we will ever know what Meghan did or didn’t know or her reasons for the initial estrangement the leaked letter muddied the waters - I don’t feel I need to know

However years ago Markle Senior did an interview and said something like “it’s time to look after daddy” he seemed like a bad un

There will be more to come out and best for Meghan to let justice take its course as it should have in 2018 - why wasn’t it investigated then before more harms to children - I’m not laying this at Meghans door but I hope there is more clarity to emerge

I don’t think any of this cancels out all the harms Harry and Meghan have done and their ruthless behaviour- that is a separate issue

threetrainers · 23/10/2026 13:57

@RedTagAlan how quickly the narrative has switched to blaming Meghan for facilitating child abuse.

MerryAquaKoala · 23/10/2026 13:57

Do you remember when they said they'd had nothing to do with that book that the Scobie wrote all about how wonderful they are? It turned out that they'd had sort of full involvement didn't it?

Do you remember when MM pretended she'd written that sickly letter in 2018 just for her daddy, but then it was proven in court she knew it'd be made public?

@Noodledog nice deflecting again

TarraDiddles · 23/10/2026 13:59

My sympathy is 100% with the child victims of this case, regardless of the paedophile perpetrators.

Mr Markle is innocent until proven guilty. If this was all known about 8 or more years ago, why hasn't due diligence and investigation been done and concluded after all this time? Why does it take more than 8 years for computers to be forensically examined and yet nobody charged with an offence? Why has it taken so long for it to get 'out there'?

Megan says she knew about it at the time. Why on earth then would she be happy to so publicly throw shade on the British people and the Royal Family, knowing that her own father was alleged to be involved in something far worse than an argument over a tiara, or a bridesmaid dress, or excited conversations over who a soon to be born baby would most closely resemble - would it have his father's ginger hair, or it's mother's shade of skin?

Why on earth would you criticise other families / nations, in the full knowledge there were worse shadows lurking within your own family?

It is so completely irrational it has to be paid for. The pivot is too unified and too thorough, and the talking points and rationale too in sync.
