Yeah sure. I simply don't think there WAS a story. It's made up shit - unless the met can provide proof they got such a letter.

Yes. Either or for sure!

It was clearly covered up.

It wasn't a UK case. And if it had been, the CPS need to be satisfied that there is enough evidence to bring about a charge and potential conviction. If they're not, then the case does not reach court. It's that straightforward. This isn't a question of elaborate cover-ups, it's the transparent way in which our justice system works.

Markle Sr. isn't a member of the anointed Windsors so there is no reason for the UK establishment to rugsweep this. It wasn't within their jurisdiction anyway.

She's handled herself so well. She has done the right thing and now the truth has come out, proven her right, ofc she is due an apology.

What about the children?

DarthVadersGlove · 23/10/2026 12:26

Are you saying that Harry shouldn’t have married who he wanted to marry because her family aren’t up to your standards?

Maybe he thought he could choose his own wife. Maybe he thought he could move to another continent and not be a working royal and then he would be OK marrying who he wanted. And then if his wife disassociated herself with her ‘not refined and classy’ family then people would not have anything to complain about.

What? Gary Goldsmith is Kate Middleton's uncle, not Meghan's. I was posting in answer to a claim that you never hear anything bad about KM's family because they're so refined.

The US has the death penalty, I think the Philippines might too. Nothing else is fitting.

People are vile. Always.

I doubt very much she would have been called a liar by the Met police if she had gone to them 8 years ago.

Im not talking about the Met. The Met came to her. If she had given the reason she kept her children away from her father. But you know that.

Benjithedog · 23/10/2026 12:50

Baldrapunzel · 23/10/2026 12:32

Can someone tell me why it would have been on the Met to investigate a US citizen living in Mexico? They would have had zero jurisdiction. I would think they'd have passed any info on to US/Mexican authorities to take it further.

Not true. In cases such as these where there could be child trafficking involved collectivise countries work in collaboration to bring these ring down and face justice.

No, I know it was not a UK case; the info was passed to the Met. Police and Royal Protection Officers because MM was living in the UK.

'no reason for the UK establishment to rugsweep this'; only the small matter of Meghan being married into the British RF!

Yes, but Interpol as someone pointed out, not the met. And even if the met were involved, they wouldn't have been leading an investigation in the US, Mexico or the Philippines.

Its not for Meghan to apologise on behalf of her Dad. Did you make any awful comments about her being estranged from her Dad - if you did are you going to apologise for it? No don't think you would

Janiie · 23/10/2026 12:24

Honestly. You'd really think they'd have got this either proved or disproved years ago.

There's no knowing they didn't, Janiie, or whether the story's been released now for other reasons yet unclear ...

AlonsoMosley · 23/10/2026 12:55

RedTagAlan · 23/10/2026 11:36

Yup. That statement makes no sense to me. This bit :

'In 2018, a letter was sent to the Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection. That letter was subsequently shared with me. It made troubling and disturbing allegations against my father and I was given assurances that these were being investigated."

Because to me, what cops got the letter ? The Met or the Royal Protection? And that leads me to wonder how many letters do the cops get with accusations anyway. Was it just this one, or is it a few per month ? I suspect more to the latter.

And next, I think he was in Mexico at the time. Then he moved to the US I think, then the Philippines. Or did he go direct from Mex to Phill? He had a stroke, had the press camped with him, has now returned to the US, and during all this time the Met was investigating him? The UK, The USA, Mexico and the Philippines are all members of Interpol. And if there were allegations against him, and investigations, for the past 8 years, the other countries would know.

And as you say, there was that stuff about the letter when he was sick last year. That would be 7 years after the letter to the cops with allegations that were being investigated?

What did that investigation say? There would surely be a result after 7 years. Especially if the stuff was in boxes being shipped around the world. And the internet too of course. Because if he had been downloading in that 7 years, or on chat groups, it would have been picked up surely? Especially given all the high profile operations that have been in the news.

But - none of that is on her surely?

No matter what we think of her, in the negative or positive, it would be very hard to imagine that she would make false statements about the police telling her about the allegations. There would be an easy to prove trail.

The questions are now of the police - not her.

No I didn’t and you really need to chill out. We are. not discussing you.

Stepsisterfromhell · 23/10/2026 12:56

I don't like Meghan and never have but I did have a bit of sympathy for her over this. Then I realised that the timing is probably quite convenient. She has just moved back to the UK, wants to regain public trust and sympathy, and lo and behold a story about her nonce father breaks, despite the fact that she has known about it since 2018 (advised by the Met that information had come forward) ! It is unreal.

Did I say she had to apologise for her father? No I didn’t but you all seem far more concerned with Megans’s feeling than you do of the children in those photographs

Oh so because you have made your statement about thinking about the children anyone who doesn't isn't thinking about them. We don't need to share a comment saying so to prove we do.

Greenseawitch · 23/10/2026 13:02

Some of the comments here are just batshit.

I am not a fan of Meghan & Harry but I don't understand how people can use this to criticise her!

She chose to be estranged from her father and that is usually not a decision that is taken lightly.

It makes sense that the allegations were a major part of why she did want anything to do with him and wanted to keep her own children safe.

As for a 'cover up' conspiracy that is again nonsense. He is an American citizen and the alleged offences happened in the Philippines so it was not up to the British police to investigate or charge anyone.

I think the hatred of this so woman is so all consuming in some people that they lose all sense of reality and common sense.

No, the Met received the letter and then shared it with her. I'm going to take a guess that it was sent to the Met ahead of the wedding to warn them that if TM Snr brought devices into the UK while staying here, he could be committing a crime on our soil. Worse still, he'd be doing it in palace residences.

Lo and behold, suddenly he's no longer coming to the wedding.

I mean you'd surely expect some kind of progression of an 'investigation' in 8yrs wouldn't you?

But, that is a police matter, not MM.

Totally agree with this. I have much respect and admiration for Meghan protecting her own children from her father despite all the hatred she got for cutting off her father. And that vile man was all over the British press with his sad face about not being able to see his daughter or go to her wedding 😡
