"But I do remember asking myself if he ever abused her or someone she knew and that is why she never let him meet?"

Meghan's statement strongly implies that he didn't. The letter sent in 2018 (although it's not clear whether it was before or after her wedding and just when it was shared with her) appears to be the first time that she had been made aware of Thomas Sr's alleged proclivities.

yeah. What I mean is I always wondered why such a strong cut off just for pics. Years after when he started his media interviews, THAT WAS horrible. Good and lucky for her if she wasnt abused. What a horrible, horrible this for the kids. And also terrible for her to deal with. Part of me hope the RF as individuals not as an institution will reach out privately to her (and her family) with a word of kindness. But wont count in it .She must be in tears today

Yeah I could have sworn he was dead too!

Same ??!

Maddy70 · 23/10/2026 12:27

She has put out a statement.
The police knew about it. She wasn't hiding anything

No one can know when or how Markle first became aware. Either way, she isn't culpable. Rule #1 of misogyny: 'women are responsible for what men do'. Except that we're not. They are.

You can predict the two main lines of protestation. 1, how can an 'elevated' Windsor marry someone from such a degenerate family? I give you Louis Mountbatten and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

And 2, that old Meldrew parrot cry: 'I don't believe it!' Given some people insist that every word coming out of the Sussexes' mouths a lie - the Windsors can't possibly be racist even though they have a written, pixillated track-record of just that - any insinuation that Markle Sr. might be a wrong 'un will be lies too. At present this report appears unsubstantiated, so presumably no one yet knows that he is.

The Windsors are like King Midas in reverse. Everything they touch turns to shit, or perhaps it's just a case of people mirroring each other.

It was clearly covered up.

Erm - by who?

What are you suggesting?

MM says the Met contacted her.

Why didn't the met investigate?

If they did what are the results?

If they didn't investigate, why not?

'THIS changes everything.

And maybe, just maybe, we all owe Meghan Markle a collective apology.'

Clemmie Moody, The Sun

The timing of the release of this story is not a coincidence.

The fact that some online hate Meghan so much they are suddenly pedophile (alleged) sympathisers - shows how deranged some are. I’m not Meghan’s biggest fan but the obsession with hating her is mind boggling.

Have you really never hard of a media blackout, not allowed to report on? Meghan Markle married into the British Royal Family...

Almost like, it wasn't happening at all, isn't it. If there was such a letter sent to the police in 2018 - they would have investigated it, if he was guilty it would have been known by everyone by now. But the fact is we have MM word that the police received a random letter (one of thousands if it existed at all), and now it's only known because her brother announce some accusations to the world, for which he was paid.

What we need is for the police to refute or not what she said. And if they did indeed receive such a letter, what happened next? Are they liable for doing nothing about alleged child abuse or is it made up, like the we got married before the wedding / the rf is racist crap.

I do not believe this MM bs for one minute. It's a convenient story for her to justify her actions (and for her brother to make money from his dad after his dad stopped funding his lifestyle).

They are desperate remember. Absolutely desperate.

there is no way she could make up a letter from Met knowing they can refute. What we need is a response from the Met about what they have been doing about the allegations. They hold a lot of responsibility. And if the RF stalled the investigation for fear of embarrassment, we need to know. If they passed the info on, lets say, because the crime did not happen on UK soil, we need to know. Ultimately this is about horrible crimes against children and there needs to be responsibility taken by the right authorities and people

(I do wonder still, in the two years prior to 2018, why was there estrangement. Why did Harry not meet him. There must be something else). Horrible all around

Passingthroughagain · 23/10/2026 12:30

Those saying the Met shouldn't have taken eight years to deal with it – the most they could've done was pass the letter to the authorities in Mexico and America. They can't investigate a crime that's been committed abroad, it's out of their jurisdiction.

I think M has been a bit premature mentioning the letter and throwing the Met and RPS under the bus by implying it's on them that her dad's been scot free all this time. It's in the Met's interests now to come out and confirm what was in the letter and how they dealt with it, including any conversations that were had with H&M in the aftermath.

It was clearly covered up.

I could not imagine being told of something incredibly serious 8 years ago, do nothing and only when the press got wind of it say 'oo yes poor me I knew all along'.

I'm not quite sure why some are feeling so sorry for the Sussexes. Share truths about sausages and dog bowls but not actual alleged very serious crimes?

hotmumshit · 23/10/2026 12:32

She's handled herself so well. She has done the right thing and now the truth has come out, proven her right, ofc she is due an apology.

It may not have been her decision. She would have been surrounded with Palace advisors.

Baldrapunzel · 23/10/2026 12:32

Can someone tell me why it would have been on the Met to investigate a US citizen living in Mexico? They would have had zero jurisdiction. I would think they'd have passed any info on to US/Mexican authorities to take it further.

I think it says the info was passed to the Met.? Meghan was living in the UK then, I imagine.

Baldrapunzel · 23/10/2026 12:34

So nothing for the met to do then? Other than inform Meghan and the RF.

Yes if true and he is charged and convicted her df needs to apologise to his family of course.

Why has this come out now who has released the allegations to the press do we know?

That still doesn't make it a Met case. The crime has to be committed on UK soil. If TM Snr was downloading images, he wasn't doing it here.

No, it is not a Met. case.

'In 2018, a letter was sent to the Met Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection. That letter was subsequently shared with me. It made troubling and disturbing allegations against my father.'

Passed to the Met.. Not the Met investigating.

Meghan was living in the UK. The info was passed to the police in the UK. Hope this helps.

Oh so you are saying The Media covered up her dad's child abuse accusations, since 2018? The police would have still investigated - where is the evidence?

All we have so far is son saying in 2026 he found child abuse stuff at his dads (following his dad cutting off his funding)

And daughter saying she was told about this by the police in 2018. And did nothing after that, and nor did they it would seem.

Both siblings need money and this story (with no evidence so far) suits them both.

Do you not think the media would have been ALL over this story, if they had been allowed to publish it at the time?

Yeah sure. I simply don't think there WAS a story. It's made up shit - unless the met can provide proof they got such a letter.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 23/10/2026 12:41

Just my personal opinion, but if I was in this situation in addition to saying how these allegations are horrendous, hope any children involved are ok, I would also add something but about how we should wait until the results of the police investigation are made available (if there is one). At present, all we have are a set of accusations

Don't risk bringing common sense into it, @BunnyBunbunbun!!

Whatever the truth about today's reporting, Meghan has a long history of clutching whatever might show her in a decent light or as a victim - even downright lying in some instances - so it follows that any idea of waiting for the facts to emerge may come a poor second

Same goes for all those naming Thomas a paedophile when we don't actually know that yet. Personally I believe there's a LOT more to come out on this yet, so will go on avoiding assumptions

Even if she had have said anything she'd have been called a liar. Like she was about her depression and miscarriage. Her and Harry are far from perfect but nor are the rest of them (and us) you can have compassion even if you dislike a person.

I doubt very much she would have been called a liar by the Met police if she had gone to them 8 years ago.

Interpol. They do a lots of this investigation, because it is international and crosses so many borders.

Uk, US, Mexico and the Philippines are all members of interpol. If uou think back to all the high profile investigations, operation ORE for example, started in the USA, expanded worldwide. Tracking down customers of a website I think, where images were downloaded from.

It's an international crime, and it has international forces working on it. That is why it is so odd, to me, that this guy was apparently being investigated, but he was changing countries, shipping boxes of stuff around the world, and was never caught. Esp if he was downloading.
