I think it’s 4 on the very last menu (at the point when 2 is something to do with checking the status of a current claim).

SD 10/08

awarded today 22/10

LRC and LRM.

Relived but at the same time I’m a bit disappointed as I was expecting higher rate for the care component.

I rung telling them my post wasn’t very good at the moment and could I make sure I was receiving text notifications and she took me through security and then told me it had been awarded (and when it was awarded until) and what the backdated amount would be and the ongoing payment dates.

She wasn’t very friendly.

My original scan date was 19/08 however I had to send an extra page I missed - called today and the lady asked if I meant my claim from 15/09. (When they received the additional page)
does anyone know if this has set my scan date back :( thanks

Oh no, bless you. Did they say why it was low rate when you expected higher?

No. The lady’s voice was so faint I could barely hear her. But I imagine the reasons will be in the written correspondence. Spending this evening collating things for mandatory reconsideration. But I don’t have any new evidence but maybe I played down what care she requires. I will try advocate for her until I’m blue in the face but it’s exhausting.

What evidence did you send hun? Has your little one got a diagnosis xx

Honestly so much evidence. Maybe too much, and I should have highlighted relevant parts. We have an autism and adhd diagnosis and ocd and anxiety reports from an nhs provider. Plus psych education reports from a private company. She doesn’t have an ehcp (because diagnosis is relatively recent) but does have an iep which I think is pretty comprehensive. I also had a separate letter from the advocating for her.

Each diagnosis report is around 20 pages and the psych education reports are 40-50. I probably sent close to 300 pages of supporting docs 🙈

Mummyto3bx · 22/10/2026 19:19

I have sent my sons Autism diagnosis report which is about 40-50 pages. Speech and language reports, sleep diary and obv filled out the forms stating the support he needs. I’m hoping that is enough! You have sent a lot so surprised with your rates xx

I suppose it’s not all about diagnosis. Maybe I didn’t advocate very well in the form 😔

don’t let my report stress you. Hopefully you have the outcome you wanted xx

TheRarePanda · 23/10/2026 07:24

Scan date 6/8. Received money in my bank account this morning for what I’m assuming is 10 weeks MRC. When they write to you do they tell you their thinking for the award? My son has 2 conditions and I’m interested to see if one weighted more heavily than the other

Thanks hun I’m calling again now. Don’t know what to say haha as only called Monday but seeing loads of people getting decisions and being told on the phone xx

Mummyto3bx · 23/10/2026 10:22

Got through to a lovely man it’s gone to a decision maker today so hopefully I hear something soon! Xx

Joysof3boyss · 23/10/2026 10:38

Scan date 19/08 decision made yesterday got through to a lovely person who told me my son aged 6 had been denied due to no diagnosis so I’ve done an MR over phone and stated that dla is not about diagnosis and it goes on care needs which my son needs a significant level of care and supervision and that they didn’t read through the evidence properly as I send physio therapy letters. Paediatrics letters, orthotics, proof of nurturing course completion certificate and sleep course certificate.
good luck everyone
