I keep getting reminded of Pizzagate – the US conspiracy theory later turbocharged by QAnon which claimed there were child-sexual-abuse rings among the elite, centred around the Democratic Party.

When Epstein was finally convicted, people started saying, "Look, Pizzagate conspiracy theorists were right all along: there was an elite child-sexual-abuse ring."

What they fail to add is that the elite involved was that around Trump, the president fielded twice by the Republican Party and supported by QAnon. (Edited to add: I know all sorts of people had connections to Epstein, but Trump's were prolific and long-lasting, and he is believed to have appeared very heavily in the Epstein files. Trump's general poltical guru Steve Bannon was making a film with Epstein about Epstein, and from the clips I've seen Epstein's sexual behaviour and his value as political fixer were not secret.)

So I've long thought the point of Pizzagate was to get out of ahead of the story and tie it in people's minds to the Democrats: win-win for the Republicans, who get to deflect from their sex-offender president AND smear the other guys.

The story being pushed on me about foreign influence taking over my country feels very similar.

Lots of noisy shouting about not particularly powerful groups of foreigners or simply people who are not white British-born Christians. Barely a whisper about the extremely powerful and well-funded foreigners backed by billionaires and nation-states who have stated that they intend to roll-out their cultural influence in my country and who are trying to support their pet political party into government.

It's all starting to feel like Germany in the 1930s. I wonder when we're going to get the Night of the Long Knives .....when they all start stabbing each other in the back......oh.hang on a minute.......

I think a diagram- like an ecomap of all these people and their links ( did a Freudian typo kinks then - political obs.) would help.explain it to people. I might attempt one
But isn't there a big question about how Orr was maintained by Cambridge? And a lack to of rigourous as oversight? He seems to have not been fulfilling duties whilst basically facilitating an extreme right power grab.
Think for me it's too loose to attribute it to an ideology. The money trail ^^would explain it all I'm convinced.

i am baffled by all the under informed and badly briefed people who’ve appeared on Television for Reform today. Not least Laila Cunningham, the rabbit caught in headlights Reform candidate for London Mayor. Why does she think “I haven’t seen the video” is a sensible response to Matt Chorley? And how is she a lawyer? And the Muslim child of first generation immigrants? And (irrelevantly but fascinatingly) the mother of 7 children?

I've noticed ' I haven't seen the video' coming up and it's literally the only thing one could sensibly say and still support Nigel Farage and his party. Course she's seen it. And understood it.

Did you see the assembled crowd chanting of "boring! boring!" led by Farage in reaponse to a protestor challenging him on his £5M bung? Horrible, like a cult...

And THEN the crowd set on the (female) protestor and had her on the ground, kicking and pulling her hair, hitting her etc. With Farge looking on delightedly.

Absolutely chilling. That along with the terror march in Dover yesterday - with apparently no arrests?

I saw it and dragging a woman off by her hair is appalling and unacceptable. Grim reality where we are going.

The masked thugs, all in black again a sign of how organised the far right are and why we shouldn't be tolerating it. How did this organised group arrange this without our counter terrorism knowing about it. It means it wasn't organised through telecommunication or social media....this is a far right under the radar operation. Tommy Robinson was involved.

Reality it was an illegal gathering/protest and it should have been dealt with as that. But the police simply didn't have the numbers

What needs to happen now is raids on these groups homes, they need to seize electronic equipment, interrogation of those they believe are involved and hold them under counter terrorism laws. They are dangerous and they need to be treated as dangerous.

The funding for the Roger Scruton Legacy Foundation, of which James Orr is a director, comes almost entirely from Hungary, from Viktor Orbán’s think tank Mathias Corvinus Collegium.

The Curious Case of James Orr
https://21percent.org/?p=4327

Cambridge has serious questions to answer about James Orr's ongoing safeguarding breaches at his 'community'. As I have shared before, the student newspaper Varsity have published concerns, so has the Byline Times here, and they have highlighted the invited speakers, and professors, linked to eugenics - hosted by Cambridge and James Orr.

Thanks for saying, but it has been good - at last - to have these issues highlighted and reinforced. I particularly was interested in your insight:

It's a multinational project by the new billionaires, using the old grifters as their current front guys. Hence Trump and Farage.

I would normally find much of this far-fetched, and as @RedTagAlan said steer away from conspiracies, but we have been linking to long-term careful articles on Orr and his sponsors and invitees to Cambridge. One of the most disturbing is Charles Murray, author of The Bell Curve.

@CurlewKate ”And how is she a lawyer? And the Muslim child of first generation immigrants?”

i’m not sure I understand the questions. What do you mean? I’m going to assume that some of her seven children are stepchildren I don’t know.

I thought they’d finally found a palatable candidate but actually, she’s quite rude, I do wonder if that is a deliberate policy because they have a lot of people representing them who are downright rude

How very peculiar. And yet, a 5 minute clip of him demonstrates how easy it would be to identify his ethical problems. Also his adoption of Christianity being a control thing.
His peers would have seen that. His supervisors would. Hell anyone can see it.
It must have been the donation then.
And his wife is a vicar?? How does that all work?

Thanks. I'll catch up on Charles Murray – yet another person whose name I've heard but whom I haven't delved into.

Yes, to us 'the uninitiated' it is all incomprehensible. My take on this is that James Orr has been valuable to Reform - his networking, he is a smoothy who purrs in ears. I think they will try to throw Jukes to the dogs but try to get Orr back on board.

The reason? He gets things done. Think Mandelson - this is why, also incomprehensibly, Mandelson was re-engaged a few times. I understand that Mandelson was so impressed by Orr that he was set to host a reception for him in the US. Very useful to both I would imagine - not sure if it happened. And then Peter got exposed .... followed by James. 😵

The arrests will follow. It would have been neither safe or wise to make arrests at that time.

I must finish watching The Tech Billionaire Takeover myself.

The problem is I'm finding the tech billionaires themselves surprisingly boring.

They're just same old same old. Old wine in new bottles.

They want a world of non-democratic rule by an elite. But they assume, as such people always do, that THEY will be the nobility. There's no chance their Royal Specialnesses would be plebs.Hmm

They bang about "creating more freedom" but they mean freedom for themselves. (We plebs are permitted roles like faithful retainer or favoured hanger-on. So that's great for us, right?)

They just sound like C19th railway barons getting in a froth about their new-found wealth and power.

I've learned that whenever these folk say things like "radical" and "new", they almost always mean "just like the old times when power rested with People Like Us, ie rich, mostly male, and mostly white."

They also continually try to distract by waving around words like "technology" and "blockchain" – as though these are somehow the electorate or forms of governance in themselves. Rather than acknowledging that technologies are tools, which voters and governors can choose to use.

It was like listening to Uber insist in court that it isn't a ride-hailing company it's an app. And that therefore centuries' worth of legislation built up to protect both passengers and taxi drivers shouldn't apply to it. Courts across the world have gone, "Ha, nice try. No."

Of course the tech bros have long tried to focus on "the technology"... to deflect attention from the actions of the people behind the technology. Basically "A big app did it and ran away."

Sorry, I'm rambling on. These things have been on my mind for a while, as you can tell! Grin

Hmm maybe- personally I think it's more likely to be the money.
So there's no focus on who are the people in his house - also no focus on what work he is actually supposed to be doing there.
One of the women who complained- wasn't awarded a PhD role- does that mean the other ones in his house were?
And what sort of stuff are they producing?

I thought he'd been suspended what is the focus of Cambridges investigation - or are they just awaiting police outcome?

And given his religious agenda Id hope the church might comment.
Something about the money lenders in the temple pretending to be religious leaders.

By the way, do you have any links supporting this story about Orr's collaboration with Mandelson, please?

I won't hold my breath waiting for Reform to publicise such minor detail.Grin

Yes, it is linked below. And just to say to @Warmlight1 - I agree that it is about money (I just find that boring, like as above was said about the techies). I know a bit more about the divinity, philosophy and links to people.

Now, a very different type of ‘dark enlightenment’ has descended on the world-renowned university. Powered by US money and far-right European think tanks, Cambridge has recently become an outpost of a peculiar blend of national conservatism and apocalyptic Christianity, through the figure of James Orr

Thanks. Gosh, I've even read that before and failed to remember Mandelson. It's such a long list of movers and shakers with whom Orr cultivates connections and who he invites to his Cambridge not-a-college on the river.

From that Byline Times article:
After Orr’s appointment as head of Reform UK’s policy think tank in September 2025, his work even attracted the attention of New Labour grandee Peter Mandelson, who was apparently planning to “hold drinks in honour” of him, according to a source – just before his sacking as UK Ambassador to the US, after the extent of his relationship with the late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein was revealed. (Neither Orr nor the Foreign and Commonwealth Office would confirm or deny that this event actually took place).

Indeed, Orr’s lawyers have consistently refused to go on the record in response to this publication’s queries.

You're welcome to pick out the time-stamp in the C4 film for me, Clav.

I just remember the image of the text message to or from Jukes stating they were planning to helicopter Farage to the "donor" in London, or the "donor" to Farage in Clacton.
