@Worrall20
Here is a thought experiment I done.
I travelled on a city bus in China. And it was a flat fare of 20 pence. Get on the bus, pay 20p no matter how many stops. Changes busses, another 20p.
And I got thinking, where does that 20p go?
The buses were all made by BYD. And at that time, BYD 40% owned by Buffet. So that means Buffet got my 20p. Then add in the driver, cleaners, maintenance etc, and they are all employed by the state owned bus company. But maybe the bus company makes a loss. So the guv subsidizes it. And that is no problem. Because the passengers on the bus are workers going to work (many of them), or they are going to the shops to spend money. All adding to the GDP. And in all that, the only part of the 20p not paying for a function, was the bit going to Buffet. And we can say that is lost money to the system.
Compare that to the UK. Private bus company. A different private cleaning company, a different private maintenance company. And the bus company might be using a private HR company, a private recruitment company, private training company. Now that 20p looks totally different. Because now almost every part of each needed function has money going to shareholders.
The shareholders are bleeding the UK bus passenger dry. And the Government, the taxpayer, still has to pay the bus company subsidies.
It is crazy. And Reform want to make it worse.
Farage want's to flog off as much as he can to his mates. Including, apparently, the NHS.
I am on the verge of waving my red flag :-)
