It doesn't matter what the slimey little toad does, his supporters make excuses for him.

Yup.

A decade of small boat migrants - how did it begin? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy0w9zw57glo

Your link supports what EEexpat posted:

BBC South East first reported on a handful of boat arrivals in 2014 and 2015

Former coastguard Andy Roberts remembers in 2015 first hearing news about a small inflatable boat arriving with a few people on board - without life jackets - at Kingsdown beach, near Dover.

David Raynes, former assistant chief investigation officer, HM Customs and Excise, National Investigation Service...
"As I recall, the first boats in 2014/15 were making it across and hitting the beaches," he said.
"There was a gradual transition from hiding in lorries, as that was made more difficult."

@DuncinToffee

What will remain do if the conclusion is not what they want?

DuncinToffee · 04/10/2026 18:10

What has the decision got to do with Remain?

It's just as stupid to ask what Leave will do if they don't get what they want.

You really need to get over Remain/Leave. There's no such thing any more. We left. End of story.

At present there are people who would like some form of closer collaboration up to and including Rejoin, people who don't care, people who don't think about it and people who still think leaving was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I suggest you adapt your posting accordingly.

@DuncinToffee

As per pointy,

We left. End of story.

I would say that until UK leaves the ECHR, UK has not yet fully left.

As for “end of story”, I don’t think that’s correct as demonstrated by the number of threads on Brexit, Farage, Reform, etc,. That it appears in some form or another on almost every episode of BBC Question Time is further evidence I would say.

DuncinToffee · 04/10/2026 18:58

You are in a EU country, your human rights are protected.

Again it has nothing to do with the investigations into Farage and Reform.

What has QT so say about all these investigations?

Just that, or do you have a list. Should we have all BS standards again and dump all the other ones ?

For example, today I was looking up Engineering cap screw dimensions. DIN 912. German. Or should we insist on using BS4168 ? Oh look, BS4168 1981 has been superseded. The world uses that DIN.

How about this one.. this EU standard.

Bananas.

I trust you do know that the ECHR has nothing to do with the EU?

What has QT so say about all these investigations?

It was mentioned on the first episode of this seasons QT. The Reform representative stated that Farage position was that the £5m was a gift, but ultimately the investigators will decide.

The Labour representative said that we don’t want foreign money coming into UK politics, but there should not be a cap on donations from unions I remember.

DuncinToffee · 05/10/2026 08:57

Robert Jenrick’s handling of donations to his failed 2024 Tory leadership campaign has come under fresh scrutiny, after the UK donor at the centre of the row claimed that the politician and his senior campaign staff knew about the involvement of an overseas donor.

I don’t like Jenrick. When speaking, he comes across as, arrogant, condescending, nasty and rude.

Yes, he would probably say: "Oh, boohoo" to your response.

Reform's internal investigation clears the party of wrong-doing, using arguments that are entirely inconsistent with the documentary: that Reform chief of staff Jukes was not commissioning the poll for the party, but for himself!!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckly020edl45o

In the undercover film however, the Reform contractor says it was for the party. The fundraiser tells the donor it was for the party. The pollster says on camera it was for the party - but he is concealing that from media. The leader is told it was done & thanks the donors for doing it for the party.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage and Dan Jukes pictured in the undercoverfilming by Verbatim Investigations and broadcast by Channel 4 News.

Reform internal inquiry says party did not break law over donations sting

Officials were recorded by undercover journalists discussing a potential way to secure foreign donations to the party.
