Can we talk about Laura Gallacher

Ineversaidthatactually · 22/10/2026 10:15

Recorded 4 days ago, a youtube video with the 2 of them sitting in dressing gowns, chatting about their week, complimenting each other on their court appearance outfits and telling each other how good they looked in court, quoting a friend who complimented them on dressing well in court, sharing a laugh together about the week they've had (in court). Laura smiles and laughs.
Something I picked up on, at 3 mins 50 secs, RB says "On Sunday blah blah blah". Laura corrects him and says "Monday". RB says "Did I say Sunday?" Laura says "You did, yeah" RB says "But didn't I say you're watching this on Sunday" Laura says "Oh, maybe you did, sorry" RB says "I'm a pro" Laura laughs and says "ok".
But he DIDN'T say "you're watching this on Sunday". He said "On Sunday" and she was right to correct him.
So here we have a recorded dialogue between the 2 of them where we see RB tell Laura that he just said something completely different to what he actually just said, and she instantly pacifies him by saying "oh maybe you did" (but he didn't) and then she quickly apologises to him and he reminds her that he's the pro. Yet he has just blatantly lied about what he said on film in front of everyone viewing it but cleverly covers his mistake up in a nanosecond and makes her believe that she made a mistake, she is wrong, and she should be reminded that he is the pro (thereby asserting his power over her). This exchange all happened so fast that I had to rewind it and watch again because I thought "Hang on a minute, you did say Sunday, you didn't say what you're telling her you said, you're lying in a split second response, and she's going along with you saying something you didn't say!".
RB covered his mistake up so fast and turned it round on his wife and made her look stupid for getting it wrong and then reminded her he's better than her ("I'm a pro" subtext "You're not"). If he can lie and cover and confuse and coerce this quickly whilst he knows he's being filmed, then no wonder he is easily lying about his crimes.
As females, can we have a discussion about Laura?
Personally, I have been upset and confused to see her walking in to court hand in hand with RB, or with his arm around her shoulders as they walk in. Her display of loyalty is huge. How can she put on such a display of belief in him when he's on trial for rape and sexual assault of 6 women?
Whilst watching this video this morning (filmed on Sunday), I felt a rising anger at her for laughing about the week in court and flattering him with compliments about his court outfits and how good he looked.
But that quickly turned to concern when I saw her accept him telling her she'd mis-quoted him when she hadn't, and then swiftly apologised to him.
So now I don't know what to think about her but I do think there needs to be a discussion on a female forum about this woman supporting her husband on trial for alleged sexual crimes against women.
Even if you can't watch the whole video, please watch the first 4 minutes:

She's obviously another victim, she just doesn't realise it yet.

That’s a really interesting observation OP. He is so manipulative I find him chilling to watch

But also the fact that he "corrects" her, but then refers to the "Sunday thing" time and again in the form of 'wit" and "jokes." Nasty man.

"My Lord, Jesus Christ..." really? Are we buying that??

He is clearly a controlling man imo and no doubt that she is victim of that control. However she did choose as an adult to resume their relationship knowing his history(his lifestyle was all over the press) so presumably she wasn’t that concerned about his sexual history etc.
And now we have these allegations against him and the trial, the allegations are not that much of a shock to most people so they can’t have been that shocking to her either. Maybe she just isn’t that bothered? Or she is so deep into the whole conspiracy theory thing that she can’t see it.

It will be interesting to see what happens to their marriage going forward.

Maybe she believes it's not her role to judge as only God can do that? The role of their new found faith will hold some weight here. Well, his, no idea if she has always been a christian, but he's certainly extremely conveniently new to it.

It’s the most transparent nonsense. He can embrace a new religion at any time but to make it his whole schtick is so obviously calculating

Empress13 · 22/10/2026 13:11

lord knows what Kirsty thinks !

Kirsty very publicly came out in support of him when the whole “my wife doesn’t let me change our girls nappies for their safety” saga happened a while back.

She also posted a supportive message right after the channel 4 documentary and then deleted it (id bet on the advice of her PR folks). Given her first thought was public support it rather suggests private support as well.

JustAnotherWhinger · 22/10/2026 13:36

The other thing to consider is that they have young children and he is wealthy.

Family courts are absolutely shit at protecting children from nasty parents.

She may also be committing to staying with him until her children are old enough to protect themselves. That’s something many many women do.

Tortephant · 22/10/2026 10:49

I was thinking about her and this trial yesterday: I can understand that she would want to be in court to hear all the evidence for herself first hand, as painful as it may be. I seriously admire her for that.

I also respect that, publicly, she is seen to be supporting him through the trial. What she does if found guilty will be more interesting, and perhaps concerning.

This is not easy for her at all.

Why do you respect her publicly supporting him?

If I did support my husband who was accused of multiple rapes, I think I'd much rather be doing it pretty flipping privately?

MaggotDonkey · 22/10/2026 13:43

I feel like I've seen more threads dissecting Laura than about her husband who is actually on trial.

Elsvieta · 22/10/2026 13:44

Yep, your analysis seems spot on. He does it like breathing. And any woman who contradicts him on anything at all is to be slapped down hard and fast.

She's married to the guy, with three children. She doesn't want to believe he is what he is. Think of the person you love and trust the most in the world, then imagine they're accused of rape or murder or child abuse or anything horrific. You'd probably work very hard to not have to believe it. Most of us would.

Hopefully when he's jailed she will see sense. Maybe she has already and she's just waiting until he's actually out of the way to end it. We don't know how scared of him she is.

As pp say, he's the one on trial.

She was like a wife not trying to rile her drunk abusive husband. Walking on eggshells and keeping everything nicey nice.

Reminds me of my poor mum.

Gengha · 22/10/2026 13:21

Even with 6 complainants who don’t know each other or their allegations all saying the same thing?

Yeah it’s a good point. I hope that would make a difference. And I’m also aware that this would have never got to trial if there was no chance of a conviction. And I really what him convicted.
I just imagine, on a jury, being told you have to believe this to be true without a shadow of doubt - how can anyone say that? I guess I’m after insight from anyone who knows about this stuff to explain.

I think it’s because no one is surprised he’s on trial. But it’s surprising why she chooses to support him.

IHeartDancing · 22/10/2026 13:58

Jeez, what an insufferable twat 🙄

I don’t think it is without a shadow of a doubt is it? It’s beyond a reasonable doubt or “sure” of their guilt.

I have a feeling he’ll get off anyway, 8 men on the jury.

Have a glass of water, touch grass, talk to a human. This is bonkers.

No, it isn't. It's completely relevant!

DoubleShotEspresso · 22/10/2026 14:02

I think LB faces far bigger issues than getting days of the week confused (or not?!).
She appears disturbingly utterly tsken in by RB and his pathetic “Temu Jesus” act. You can see she kind of freeze frames whenever he challenges her on anything, it’s a sea of red flags. This coupled with the fact any sane woman being asked to do video broadcasts, designed to look like she’s just rolled out of bed, against the backdrop of what has been alleged and graphically described in court would tell RB to jog on, but she’s complied is concerning.

All of this said, her father is a wealthy man and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s got Fiona Shackleton ready n waiting on speed dial for when the inevitable happens to RB. For the sake of their kids, I hope this goes that way.

This is reality, unfortunately. Men like him, out there, doing the things they do. We’re allowed to be concerned about their partners.

People love to blame a woman or examine their role in proceedings.

Depressing.

Mangelwurzelfortea · 22/10/2026 14:04

Not the first woman to stick by her dodgy millionaire husband and she won't be the last.

That sounds harsh. She is also likely in a coercively controlling relationship. Katy Perry said he was controlling and did a bunk from their marriage pretty quickly. I do think the OP's point is a valid one.

TurquoiseDress · 22/10/2026 14:04

YANBU

I’ve been following the trial

Their relationship certainly comes across as massively weird (to me)

Cherrytree86 · 22/10/2026 14:06

ewww
🤮

Galexia · 22/10/2026 14:07

blankittyblank · 22/10/2026 13:07

I’ve also been wondering about her and how she can put up with him. But I also think he’s dominant and she is passive to him, and probably been groomed.

something I can’t understand with the trial. I’ve been listening to a podcast where they report back each day going over the witness statements. Obviously all of this is a case of the girls words against his. There no actual evidence.

So how can be deemed guilty? The jurors have to be sure in order to convict, and I don’t see how anyone could be with no evidence?

to be clear, I absolutely think he is guilty and I believe the women. But I’m confused how he can ever be convicted.

Witness evidence does count as evidence, fortunately.

I thought that too, when I saw it was 8 men. Thanks for explaining the beyond reasonable doubt thing too.

Cerisequeen · 22/10/2026 14:10

I am not sure why the focus is on her, this has nothing to do with her.

It is interesting that she comes from quite a well off family. Yes Brand is wealthy but she doesn’t come from poverty herself.

Utterly bonkers and inauthentic.
Why did I waste my time even writing this comment?
