Can we talk about Laura Gallacher

Ineversaidthatactually · 22/10/2026 10:15

Recorded 4 days ago, a youtube video with the 2 of them sitting in dressing gowns, chatting about their week, complimenting each other on their court appearance outfits and telling each other how good they looked in court, quoting a friend who complimented them on dressing well in court, sharing a laugh together about the week they've had (in court). Laura smiles and laughs.
Something I picked up on, at 3 mins 50 secs, RB says "On Sunday blah blah blah". Laura corrects him and says "Monday". RB says "Did I say Sunday?" Laura says "You did, yeah" RB says "But didn't I say you're watching this on Sunday" Laura says "Oh, maybe you did, sorry" RB says "I'm a pro" Laura laughs and says "ok".
But he DIDN'T say "you're watching this on Sunday". He said "On Sunday" and she was right to correct him.
So here we have a recorded dialogue between the 2 of them where we see RB tell Laura that he just said something completely different to what he actually just said, and she instantly pacifies him by saying "oh maybe you did" (but he didn't) and then she quickly apologises to him and he reminds her that he's the pro. Yet he has just blatantly lied about what he said on film in front of everyone viewing it but cleverly covers his mistake up in a nanosecond and makes her believe that she made a mistake, she is wrong, and she should be reminded that he is the pro (thereby asserting his power over her). This exchange all happened so fast that I had to rewind it and watch again because I thought "Hang on a minute, you did say Sunday, you didn't say what you're telling her you said, you're lying in a split second response, and she's going along with you saying something you didn't say!".
RB covered his mistake up so fast and turned it round on his wife and made her look stupid for getting it wrong and then reminded her he's better than her ("I'm a pro" subtext "You're not"). If he can lie and cover and confuse and coerce this quickly whilst he knows he's being filmed, then no wonder he is easily lying about his crimes.
As females, can we have a discussion about Laura?
Personally, I have been upset and confused to see her walking in to court hand in hand with RB, or with his arm around her shoulders as they walk in. Her display of loyalty is huge. How can she put on such a display of belief in him when he's on trial for rape and sexual assault of 6 women?
Whilst watching this video this morning (filmed on Sunday), I felt a rising anger at her for laughing about the week in court and flattering him with compliments about his court outfits and how good he looked.
But that quickly turned to concern when I saw her accept him telling her she'd mis-quoted him when she hadn't, and then swiftly apologised to him.
So now I don't know what to think about her but I do think there needs to be a discussion on a female forum about this woman supporting her husband on trial for alleged sexual crimes against women.
Even if you can't watch the whole video, please watch the first 4 minutes:

Even with 6 complainants who don’t know each other or their allegations all saying the same thing?

Yes, it's not: he said she said.

It's: he said she said she said she said she said she said she said

I won’t be watching his YouTube channel but I fully believe you that he behaves that way towards his wife. Men like that gaslight women around them so easily and readily it’s like breathing to them. It’s their kids I feel most sorry for (other than his victims of course) as they will be growing up thinking this dynamic in a relationship is normal and so the cycle will continue. I really hope that once he is (hopefully) banged up for a long stretch Laura comes to her senses and protects her children.

It was a mad crazy watch. She is pacifying him the whole way through. He looked really pissed off at her. She just ums and yeses through the whole thing. Completely in bad taste too. Shouldn't be allowed whilst you have an active case.

Totally agree, his trial is still ongoing. Generally really inappropriate.

Have a glass of water, touch grass, talk to a human. This is bonkers.

Why is it bonkers? Presumptuous to assume she doesn't leave the house or talk to anyone.

I would absolutely support my DH if I had no evidence of guilt. Allegations are just that.
I assume she believes him.
If she doesn't, then that's a different story. Driven by fear, money, protecting their children?

6 allegations...I think the statistically that's something like one in a million that he didn't do it. Don't fancy your chances...

I wish Katy would too.
She said she has a secret about him that she's saving for a rainy day (or words to that effect).

Katy Perry who groped Justin Bieber when he was a teenager? Confused No doubt she has got dirt on RB, but she’s hardly squeaky clean herself so there’s mutual convenience in not actually saying outright whatever it is

I don’t know how she can stay with him. I often thought both with her and her sister there was something a bit dark going on? And I’m not sure what.
Maybe there is a clue in their childhood somewhere, I’m not sure what. We will never know.

I thought similarly re her childhood... I'd be surprised if there wasn't someone then, that makes Brand feel familiar.

She’s either completely deluded and stupid or scared stiff of him. I do wish Katy Perry would spill the tea on him as well.

I suspect the defence will be gaslighting the women, saying they don’t remember, they wanted it. They’ll bring up inconsistencies in their stories to discredit what they’re saying. I’m keeping up with the trial on a podcast, but I’m actually dreading the defence. It’s going to make me so angry. The defence are cross-examining the women as they give their evidence for the prosecution. They won't be recalling them @blankittyblank . The defence don't actually have to produce any evidence - RB can choose not to testify and may well be advised not to. He doesn't have to prove anything - the defence may just give a closing speech saying the testimony of these women proves nothing.

The thing to remember about a robust defence is that it’s part of what makes our adversarial criminal system one of the best in the world. Without proper defence lawyers we don’t have convictions.

Although it makes for uncomfortable listening in the case of complainants in sexual offences it is actually necessary for them to be challenged. The defence is not “gaslighting” someone by testing their evidence even though it can be very distressing for a victim of course.

Defence questioning in such cases has, as hard as it is to believe, moved on quite considerably in the last twenty years in not going quite as hard on complainants. Some of this is calculating - juries can take against a barrister who harangues a woman in a rape or other SA case.
Their sexual history as a whole can’t be brought in as of right. There are screens when giving evidence and more people are allowed to have recorded evidence adduced. Still a long way to go sadly.

Ahh that makes sense. Interesting - I wonder will happen next then. Thank you for the clarification :)

That selfie photo posted by @Klippin at 23:12 hrs yesterday - just a bit upthread from here.
If you enlarge the photo and look at both his eyes, then cover one of his eyes with your hand and look at each left and right eye on its own, what do you see?
When I did this, before any words came to my mind, my instant reaction was to feel nervous by what I see in his eyes. I had an instant instinctive feeling in my chest of hating what his eyes show, before any words kicked in to my brain. I think his eyes look utterly chilling. And that's for a supposedly happy, smiling family selfie.
You can tell so much from someone's eyes.

She was fairly young when she first met him but much older when she actually got together with him and started a family and there’s no way anyone on earth could not know what he was like by then. He’d been very open about his addictions, his disgusting sexual practices and his attitude to women.

I think she totally believes all the Sunday service stuff and the social media stuff they do together. If he gets convicted and sent to prison she’ll see him as a martyr Jesus figure, it’ll be the equivalent of the crucifixion and I honestly think she’ll stand by him.

Poor kids though.

I met him in 2023, at the festival they put on. He is a character. Larger than life and believes his own hype. I think he's probably different now to the earlier period of his fame.

I think the underlying belief system is the same. That he is smarter than just about everyone and can produce something that the public want to buy into.

He’s the most phenomenal grifter. Before he decided to monetise his mish mash of Christianity - he was selling a repackaged twelve step recovery programme via a paid membership website.

This goes against the absolute fundamental tenets of twelve step recovery - that they are free to users and other recovered addicts give their time and guidance for free. He’s deeply odious.

People love to blame a woman or examine their role in proceedings.

Depressing.

Edited

Maybe.

But maybe not.

Last week, a Northern Irish politician who was found guilty of raping two young girls. His wife came across him doing the crime and ... closed the door.

Unfortunately, many of these men use as a cover the "family man" thing. Or, maybe they are family men and also that man. The wife/woman in the relationship does bear scrutiny as people try and injure out what was/is going on.

Edited for spelling.

RB definitely bonkers. OP’s analysis is sound.

Though bothering to do the analysis is maybe a bit wacky!

Rule #1 of misogyny: 'women are responsible for what men do'.

I think most people are saying she’s been brainwashed and needs help

FiloPasty · 22/10/2026 21:25

Allthebookszerofucks · 22/10/2026 18:23

The misogynistic tactics of the defence are nauseating, I'm surprised that it's even allowed nowadays. Although without it, what defence do they have I guess..desperate measures and all that

I've been thinking about it alot today (mostly because its all I keep seeing in my newsfeed 🤦‍♀️), and if the tables were turned and a man went to meet a woman for consensual sex, and she then flipped him over and anally raped him with a sex toy/strap on with no warning and left him in pain and bleeding..would anybody say he asked for that? That he should have expected that when he turned up for sex??
Its crazy when you look at it like that

Also, sidenote, the amount of men sticking up for him in the comments on social media and saying they asked for it is enraging me!!

Exactly this and I hope that one of the jurors puts this to the room when they are deciding his fate.

I’ve done jury service, I think cases like this must be horrendous, really feel for them all.

Darkershadeofpink · 22/10/2026 19:46

Her sister has said something like shes keeping a close eye on her. Which feels like we know you know, but Laura doesn’t. Family sometimes hsve to tread carefully because otherwise they will me cut out for raising any concern.

i was a victim of domestic abuse. Hard to say that out loud. But I don’t see it until after he’d gone. Not on this scale, but it’s really possible shes been brainwashed and is in too deep for her to see it (3 kids, coercive controlling etc)

The women sticking up for him on social media is driving me mad

theyre after compo
they waited 20 years to speak up
there’s no evidence/ innocent until proven guilty etc
they are trying to silence him

I hope they do silence him. His voice drives me mad. And he talks utter drivel.
