AIBU to think of course all the anti-trans posts on this website and others are leading to real life harm?

Just seen a video of a trans woman minding her business in a train station getting horribly bullied by some Tommy Robinson wanna-be and couldn't help but think back to all the aggressive threads I've seen on Mumsnet.

Pages and pages of vilifying innocent trans people, calling them perverts and all sorts with zero evidence of anything of the sort of course would lead to people like this harassing and attacking trans people in public. I've see a few of so-called GC brigade say 'this isn't what we wanted' but it is the end, isn't it? If you do see trans people as disgusting abusive perverts trying to sneak into your changing rooms and hurt your daughter, you'd want them to be bashed in public yeah?

Am I wrong to think their chickens are coming home to roost and certain posters will want to claim they never had a hand in it all?

Good stuff this.

A Labour MP is going to ask the Labour PM to change the equality act so men can access women's spaces.

In order to do this, there will need to be a vote in House of Commons and a majority of MPs will need to support such a change.

Labour has a majority of MPs and are left wing, so changing the Equality Act will be an absolute doddle. Won't it?

And any MPs of any political party who fail to support such a move will obviously be automatically Far Right cos this new bill will be so easy to pass. Won't they?

Of course the chances of this getting anywhere near a vote are slim to none because the Labour party knows it's nonsense that will blow up in their face and make them look like a bunch of idiots who don't like safeguarding.

So all those Labour MPs that know that this is a disaster zone with the general public are also Far Right.

Cos Everyone Is Far Right who doesn't agree with Nadia. Nadia is the One True Leftie and Saviour of Transpeople.

I hope she volunteers to prove her cause by spending a week with the transwomen detained by His Majesty. Including showering with them. We want the receipts (all tastefully shot without any nudity showing) proving she is willing to do this rather than merely blowing hot air and insults about.

Oh, bring it the fuck on!

Seriously. Let's have a bill debated in the Commons that posits opening the category of 'woman' to men who feel like being included in it.

I'd love it personally. To see them all squirming. They couldn't miss such a vote either, because if it passed they'd be still held responsible.

Let's get this out in the open.

This is also precisely why the Labour whips will never allow such a debate and vote to happen. Because they know just how badly it will go down in key constituencies.

But then why does that mean they get to use women’s spaces? Why do trans activists not do a whole campaign on getting men to budge up, be kind and accept their GNC brethren? Why should women give up single sex spaces because of men? What benefit do women get out of this?

Well exactly. It's not a problem for women to solve, is it?

blacksax · 15/09/2026 12:25

ThreadGuardDog · 14/09/2026 16:54

Then they should understand that women have the same fear of being attacked by men and that allowing men into women’s safe spaces exacerbates that.

Yes.

I have never seen anyone, not a single one, here or elsewhere, claiming all transmen (or even any transmen) are dangerous perverts. Mr Menno once voiced the opinion that it is intrusive and inappropriate when gay men's spaces and events are used by young women identifying as transgender, but I have never read a suggestion that they are dangerous.

There is undoubtedly a culture, represented by you, @helpfulucy among others, of ignoring women.

Trans men just get infantilised and painted as vulnerable little girls who don't know their own minds instead. Even if they're grown adults.

It’s a puzzler!

These are not "misogynistic men." There are very few people less misogynistic than trans men. People are being directly unpleasant and abusive to them, and mumsnet has helped normalise that abuse.

No one here thinks people should abuse anyone, but will stand up for themselves. I’m sure some people with fragile self identity experience disagreement and being told no as abuse.

Or it could be that none of the TRA give a shiny shit about TIF, because TIF are female. They are wheeled out as a gotcha every now and then, but nah, TRA don’t care about them. The SC protected TIF by affirming their rights to abortions, pregnancy care and sex relevant screening. Why are the TRA not celebrating this? Surely that’s a good thing for transpeople right?

The SC judgement also prevents TIF from being out in male prisons, psych wards and allows them to access female only RCC provisions. A TIF was put in a male psych ward and raped twice within hours of being there. That can’t happen now. So tell me again why the SC judgement should be reversed?

Its part of being a woman for people to treat us like that. Regardless of gender identity.

Should we let gay men or old men or small men with glasses into the female toilets too, just in case some Neanderthal arsehole decides to pick on them?

Well quite, and I never suggested that allowing them to use the ladies was the solution. I used to work with a lovely gay man, and he'd been assaulted by straight men more than once.

puppysleepdeprivation · 15/09/2026 12:34

No, I don't feel guilty for seeing reality or refusing to say the impossible is possible or that it's a good idea for men to be allowed into women-only spaces. Nor do I feel responsible for the actions of others that have nothing to do with me.

I think this poster is imagining the person they were replying to was talking about women, not men. I doubt even they’d make the claim that most men who identify as women are not misogynistic.

Well, at least you're not denying it happens in here as usual I suppose .
If that's how women are treated, it's ok for us to do it to trans men as well. Ok 👍🙄

Well, as “transmen” are not men, I’d say there are very few people less misogynistic. “Transwomen” on the other hand are mostly on an Andrew Tate level of misogyny.

Everyone does it to women and girls. Including those who try to identify out of it. It’s baked in. It’s nothing to do with “here”. I am not required to approve of every poor decision or life choice other women make though. I don’t have to agree with women to support their sex based rights.

StSpiridian · 15/09/2026 12:40

This thread moves fast! Above Mouldemort accused mumsnetters of being abusive to women/ transmen - but M didn't provide evidence!

Maybe this helps? A mum/ transman/transparent being cruel/abusive to her kids reported on mumsnet - backed up by multiple court rulings confirming it. It was a mum who Ids as a transman - she tried to remove her child's right to know who their mother is/ parental origins, which is against international human rights/child protection laws. The UK Supreme court found it is against Uk law, international human rights, UK laws including the GRA (protecting kids from parental trans fantasies) and the Children Act (protecting kids from emotional abuse).
childrenoftransitioners.org/six-children/
childrenoftransitioners.org/paperwork/

She then took her case to the ECHR which ruled to protect the kids from her abusive demand, citing the UN Rights of the Child.

Trans ‘woman’ has no place in women only spaces but otherwise leave them be.

GailBlancheViola · 15/09/2026 12:41

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/09/2026 11:54

A man, who identifies as a woman and who used to be on Mumsnet regularly telling women what to do, and campaigns for “trans rights” on other platforms said he’d like JKR to be raped with a splintery rolling pin, @helpfulucy- what are your thoughts on that?

Edited

The response to that question will, as always, be deafening silence.

By being silent the OP and other posters who have swung in to support the OP are not only condoning but supporting these threats, evidenced by the fact that not a single one of them has condemned or even shown a modicum of disapproval of all the instances of violent threats made by trans activisits documented on this thread.

It is the same old same old misogyny, we've got look what women on Mumsnet made that man do we also have in the respect of trans activists threats and indeed violence against women well, they deserve it and not a dint of shame from OP and supporters for believing and espousing those sentitments.

StSpiridian · 15/09/2026 12:47

Most of us are happy for anyone to ID as whatever they want- as long as they don't try and force others to go along with their fantasies of being what they're not.

The main issue here appears to be that some (many?) transpeople don't like the fact they can't force others to submit , don't respect the human rights of others, and want to force everyone else to lie. And when the rest of the world say NO, they say it's anti trans.

I see the issue and yes, some women feel threatened by trans women. But I have never considered toilets to be a safe space. I don't believe there are any safe spaces. Even in our homes we are not .' safe". I find any talk of safe spaces infantilism.

Sorry but I'm not going to get into a debate about this..I would like to think we can all respect each others views..

Except when it comes to transwomen, then you do clearly care very much, so much that you’re happy to give womens spaces to them. Now why is that, because it sure smells like flat out misogyny?

Yeah. This is what got me kicked out of the genderborg. Stating I could see some benefit to the judgement for TIF. Well that and refusing to call myself a lesbian because my P decided he was a woman.
