AIBU to think of course all the anti-trans posts on this website and others are leading to real life harm?

Just seen a video of a trans woman minding her business in a train station getting horribly bullied by some Tommy Robinson wanna-be and couldn't help but think back to all the aggressive threads I've seen on Mumsnet.

Pages and pages of vilifying innocent trans people, calling them perverts and all sorts with zero evidence of anything of the sort of course would lead to people like this harassing and attacking trans people in public. I've see a few of so-called GC brigade say 'this isn't what we wanted' but it is the end, isn't it? If you do see trans people as disgusting abusive perverts trying to sneak into your changing rooms and hurt your daughter, you'd want them to be bashed in public yeah?

Am I wrong to think their chickens are coming home to roost and certain posters will want to claim they never had a hand in it all?

Parents of suicidal children don’t need to be told what the cause is they know. In the trans community it’s often down to bullying, mocking,discrimination- you know ,the behaviour you see on here.

Oh and there is no immediate psychiatric care. The MH system is broken and completely reactionary .

As an autistic woman and child abuse survivor who suffered from body dismorphia (as gender dysphoria was known back in the stoneage) i can assure you that the parents haven't got a clue what the underlying causes are (unless they are abusing their children themselves) as the children themselves often don't know/understand what the underlying causes are.
What you claim are the reasons and alleged bullying and discrimination on here are figment of your own imagination not facts.
I do agree that CAMHS is woefully underfunded

I have seen posts that have said trans people are all pedophiles and the gender ideology is a conspiracy to make sex between adults and children legal. I have seen posts mocking and celebrating when a trans child is murdered with comments that most certainly would have caused harm. I have seen posts that have called for mass detention and imprisonment in camps of trans people. I have seen posts that advise child abuse when a child is questioning their identity instead of educating them.

Oh, and I suspect that what you describe as posts saying "gender ideology is a conspiracy to make sex between adults and children legal" may have been referring to Queer Theory not gender ideology, although Genderism is one of the offshoots.

Queer Theory is an evolving inconsistent beast by its very nature so I don't agree that everyone who applies it today is trying to blur the sexual boundaries around children. However, one of the grandfathers of the theory Michel Foucalt was keen to show that the sexual barriers between children and adults were cultural constructs rather than innate or moral barriers. (And yes, he put that into practice at least with adolescents)

Off you go to X, then. Apparently the man involved is there so you can talk to him directly.

Well, quite. Scolding women on here is a little less daunting for the 'you're all such meanies!!' crowd than popping onto Twitter and actually addressing the man who was abusive. It's nothing but empty virtue signalling for the benefit of the 'those bitches just won't wheesht!!' crowd on Reddit et al.

I wait with bated breath to hear how they get on on Twitter...

It’s public knowledge that mumsnet has had problems with hate speech.
I am not some random making a spurious claim.
It’s even in published scientific studies and numerous books.

Or you can go to other parts of MN where mumsnetters openly discuss the hate speech they have come across on here.

But anyway take the book recommendation or leave it.

It's well known that people who don't think women should be allowed to say no to being required to submit to the pretence that some men are "really" women say MN has problems with hate speech.

However, these are people who think refusing to put a trans person's self actualisation ahead of ones own self knowledge is an act of "hate" so I'm afraid they are unreliable narrators.

Nothing warrants calling parents in this situation child abusers for supporting their often suicidal children. Nothing.

Oh you’ve fallen for the ‘suicidal’ schtik. That’s been thoroughly debunked.

The Swiss cheese I see is usually the result of a TRA losing their shit before flouncing.

That said, I think you genuinely believe what you are saying, but what you are actually seeing is people saying some, maybe even many trans identifying men are X,Y or Z rather than all.

The only posts I ever see saying "all" trans people are X,Y or Z are

1 posters like you complaining about FWR and applying their own hyberbole about what is really being said. (FWIW, these posters say "all trans women are predators" a lot. It's their favourite accusation to claim we say.)

2 posters saying any trans woman who knowingly comes into female -only spaces is acting like a predator or at best is someone who will ignore women's boundaries if they conflict with his own desires. The former I disagree with, but the latter is undeniable.

3 me saying all trans people are sexist because a pre-requisite of believing in trans identies is believing that some ways of thinking/feeling/dressing are allowable for one sex but not the other. And that I stand behind.

I won’t post them, but I do have some humdinger TRA on MN screenshots however “mental” that poster thinks that is. Including many that go on an impotent rant about what ugly dried up old women we are, one which (I quote) “I genuinely hope everyone on here dies the slowest, most painful death imaginable”, another one “will be supportive of unisex toilets if only to make sure that these women spend their days cowering in fear of people who don’t even notice their pathetic existence” said “most of you can barely get your husbands to put their dicks near you” and literally signed off with the words “long live the penis” 🤣

Yuck. Yet, TRAs wonder why women don't want males in females spaces. 🤔

That is true.

Categorically: not all trans identifying males are fetishists, but some are. Not all trans identifying males are predators, but some are. And some have used 'trans' as a way to access women/children.

Males as a sex class commit 99% of all sex crime. Single sex spaces is not bulletproof but provides a modicum of protection for women.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/09/2026 20:10

Then there was the time when a bloke called Stephbunchofnumbers accused me of being directly responsible for a fight between the Proud Boys and Antifa outside a women only spa in California. I’m sure op and others will sympathise.

ArabellaScott · 15/09/2026 20:13

I don't accept that women must stay quiet about male abuse in case other males fight over it.

They came all fuck off, frankly. And leave us to get on with building our Tunnock-based womens lib forts.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 15/09/2026 20:14

ArabellaScott · 15/09/2026 17:23

😖Ouch. How depressingly fucking true. And what is worse - women attacking other women for not playing men's games on their behalf.

I'm honestly sympathetic. We all have to live in the world. We normalise the cultural values of our upbringing and our environment.

I won't repeat the posts I've made on this before, but powerless people finding relative power and therefore some (maybe imagined) safety in the existing structures that overall hold them down rather than risking everything on a challenge they will probably lose is a very usual pattern. There were more slaves driving slaves for their masters than leading rebellions against them, and it's often women who police the social norms day to day, even as far as holding the blade for FGM, exactly because they don't have the power to exist outside them. Plus if they have to face up to what they really are what does that mean for their own lives lived inside the rules?

I've quoted several on this thread that have said

''a lot of chaps are well aware that public cross-dressers are compulsively displaying a fetish. Not everyone is prepared to accept that.''

@IHaveQuestionsLotsOfQuestions said 'I've seen that video and as far as I'm concerned, all it shows is two men being twats in different ways.
One is indulging his fetish in public and co-opting non-consenting onlookers as his fetish props.' and 'Most men who pretend to be women are fetishists. They are straight men who have wanked themselves into autogynephilia.
I said what I said.'

And as stated above, this KJK said, "I don’t care if perverts are treated badly by others in public. The more torment and shame the better, if you ask me."

As for her being banned, I don't know, maybe she is secretly one of the first two posters because they all appear to be saying the same things. Than anyone deemed to be wearing feminine clothes when you think they shouldn't is a dangerous perverts who want to hurt women and children. How you can say those things and no expect people to eventually take matters into their own hands is beyond me.

I don't think it's an extreme view that most people believe paedophiles should be immediately jailed if not shot in the street. To continue to tar an entire group of people, with absolutely zero evidence, is incitement. The same as saying all immigrants are rapists. If you go around spouting that you can't then be shocked when they try to burn down the hotels.

Firstly, let's differentiate between men wearing women's clothes because they like frills or breezes round the nethers or are making a statement that clothes shouldn't be gendered or had a laundry disaster and had to borrow their mum's t shirt and jeans, and men wearing women's clothes specifically because they are women's clothes and that meets a need for them.

Now, of the second lot, what percentage roughly do you think are doing it for a fetish?

0%? - we know it's not that since plenty of these men openly acknowledge it. There have been clubs for it. It's a thing.
10%?
20%?

More?

At what point are women allowed to say "hang on, this is problematic?"

backformoreofthesame · 15/09/2026 20:30

The other thing is that why should women care about transgender people when they don’t care about women ? It’s a bit one sided isn’t it?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/09/2026 20:31

Good question, and @helpfulucy- a question: where do you think all the transvestites have gone? As opposed to transsexuals, for the purposes of argument.

Blanchard suggested around 75% of trans identifying men were motivated by paraphilia.

To use the old terms: Transexualism is rare; cross dressing is comparatively common.

It is quite amusing when people say they dont want perverts on the streets and other people wail 'thats transphobic'...erm you made that link mate.
