AIBU to think of course all the anti-trans posts on this website and others are leading to real life harm?

Just seen a video of a trans woman minding her business in a train station getting horribly bullied by some Tommy Robinson wanna-be and couldn't help but think back to all the aggressive threads I've seen on Mumsnet.

Pages and pages of vilifying innocent trans people, calling them perverts and all sorts with zero evidence of anything of the sort of course would lead to people like this harassing and attacking trans people in public. I've see a few of so-called GC brigade say 'this isn't what we wanted' but it is the end, isn't it? If you do see trans people as disgusting abusive perverts trying to sneak into your changing rooms and hurt your daughter, you'd want them to be bashed in public yeah?

Am I wrong to think their chickens are coming home to roost and certain posters will want to claim they never had a hand in it all?

I know a lot of transgender people with trans men and non binary people in the majority, and the level of abuse and hatred they receive has increased. They cite Mumsnet unprompted as an influence on this. “Sex realists” like “race realists” give people permission to express their bigotry.

Is it bigotry to say that sex is immutable and that no human being can change sex? Or is that an uncomfortable fact that trans identifying people find hard to hear?

In my case it's not just that they are men, it's that they are men who are deliberately and willfully transgressing boundaries. I view any male who starts crossing boundaries as a risk, not least because of the evidence that it escalates.

Exactly. It is a red flag. They absolutely know many women (it’s actually the majority) don’t want them there. Men who don’t respect women’s boundaries are not men I feel safe with.

So who are you blaming for the thousands of sexual and violent crimes committed against women and girls annually across the UK rail network? Is transport- based safety a genuine concern, or have you just popped in to blame women for men’s crimes?

Yes, respect for women and girls as human beings probably isn’t helped by the type of misogynistic rhetoric that men including TRAs and their male allies engage in with gusto.

Who has mocked trans people committing suicide?
I've read this entire thread and not one post has done so. As such I suggest that you quote the posts or it didn't happen

I absolutely think @helpfulucy should say who she is referring to or withdraw the false accusation. I can’t see anything of that nature.

Unprompted perhaps, but also unevidenced.

Clearly I've underestimated how much time other posters spend here if just going to sleep and getting the day started is too long of a break. How do any of you get anything done? 😂

How dare you go to bed! 😂 You're supposed to be on here defending your position all night long to certain posters.
(Just checked, it was just gone 11 o clock last night that you last posted before coming back here. That's clearly unacceptable. Do better. 😁

Exhibit B for anyone still claiming that there is not a culture of deeming all trans people dangerous perverts. Do you really not see how this inflammatory language is leading to real life harm?

I suppose no man should care about women and girls being harmed because if he didn't do it and it's not his wife or daughter, not his problem, right?

My God, this and the posters mocking trans people dying either by suicide or otherwise are despicable. You callousness is genuinely disturbing.

Who has mocked dying trans people??

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/09/2026 10:54

It’s so predictable when people start goady threads and then mock other people for posting on them. 84% of 1059 posters now.

It just confirms so many TRAs are delusional. We 'all hate trans people' apparently except we don't we just do not want them in women only spaces. We now apparently have mocked suicide expect we haven't we've said women are not responsible for men's mental health problems.

Trans people and their allies just twist everything to desperately blame women. It's all very tiresome and of course misogynistic.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 15/09/2026 10:56

EmailsaysOOO · 15/09/2026 09:04

Yes I'm sure you really do see it that way..

Yes. To believe the fundamental, defining difference between men and women is mental, and that this difference is so great that it overrides any consequences of the difference in our bodies despite the millenia of female-bodied people being manifestly abused, exploited, sexualised and even treated as literal propery entirely because of our bodies and how that history has shaped our social existence even today IS sexist. Absolutely. I'd be astounded to see someone think they can argue it isn't.

Similarly, I find it very hard to see how the belief that the female (and indeed male) halves of the human race aren't important enough to deserve have their own name, legal recognition or even the right to say we do not see ourselves as whatever it is that trans people believe comprises a "woman" can somehow be considered not sexist, assuming you consider sexism to be disadvantaged, disempowering or stereotyping someone based on their sex. (And if a person doesn't think that is what sexism is, if they think sexism follows the word "woman" rather than the people, all they've done is proved beyond a doubt that they are indeed shitting on female people regardless of what label they act under).

helpfulucy · 15/09/2026 10:09

Oh I believe you really think that and thank you for being one of the few honest posters on your side.

I have every confidence that your view is what most of them secretly believe and they are just too cowardly to own it.

Why do you think transwomen say they’re women? What makes them women? Why can’t they just be men with a preference for wearing clothes and having tastes usually targeted at women?

FreshJalapenos · 15/09/2026 10:58

EmailsaysOOO · 15/09/2026 10:12

Yes I agree that how I feel doesnt reflect the majority of female views. Also I'm not sure the pages of Mumsnet will necessarily reflect the majority of female views..

It certainly does for the many women I know. Nobody wants men in their spaces. How these men identity is nothing to do with us and shouldn’t be imposed on us

They do, and then their pop up pals come to hi five their posts as if they’ve done something noble and important by slagging off other women standing up for women’s rights. Yet they don’t have a convincing argument between them, it’s all just smears and insults. It’s like primary school.

Clearly I've underestimated how much time other posters spend here if just going to sleep and getting the day started is too long of a break. How do any of you get anything done? 😂

I am interested in your solution, is it to just shut up and let men do what they want, when they want and forget all about any sex based rights women and girls need? Or just the men who say they are women?

And what is the difference between a man who says he is a woman, and man who is a woman and men who do not say they are women?

If you believe that women are different from men then where is the line?

I pop in and out regularly, so no need to stress about getting back to me quickly, I can pick this up any time.

FrippEnos · 15/09/2026 11:01

@helpfulucy

"It's not trans people hurting them, it's not even men pretending to be trans hurting them."

How very transphobic of you.
Don't you believe in self ID?

MiggyWoods · 15/09/2026 11:03

The fear of being attacked by men is one of the reasons transwomen don't feel safe using the Gents

Same reason women don't want men in the Ladies. Any men. Even men who are dressed up as women.

FreshJalapenos · 15/09/2026 11:03

Mouldemort · 15/09/2026 10:17

Is it mums who are physically targeting them, or is it men?

And please tell me, in simple terms, what is bigoted about women wanting single sex spaces without men in them? The law has given us that right - why is it to wry hard for men to follow it?

RedToothBrush · 15/09/2026 11:05

Good stuff this.

A Labour MP is going to ask the Labour PM to change the equality act so men can access women's spaces.

In order to do this, there will need to be a vote in House of Commons and a majority of MPs will need to support such a change.

Labour has a majority of MPs and are left wing, so changing the Equality Act will be an absolute doddle. Won't it?

And any MPs of any political party who fail to support such a move will obviously be automatically Far Right cos this new bill will be so easy to pass. Won't they?

Of course the chances of this getting anywhere near a vote are slim to none because the Labour party knows it's nonsense that will blow up in their face and make them look like a bunch of idiots who don't like safeguarding.

So all those Labour MPs that know that this is a disaster zone with the general public are also Far Right.

Cos Everyone Is Far Right who doesn't agree with Nadia. Nadia is the One True Leftie and Saviour of Transpeople.

I hope she volunteers to prove her cause by spending a week with the transwomen detained by His Majesty. Including showering with them. We want the receipts (all tastefully shot without any nudity showing) proving she is willing to do this rather than merely blowing hot air and insults about.

AIBU to think of course all the anti-trans posts on this website and others are leading to real life harm?

The level of abuse and hatred women receive for not enabling men's delusions by allowing access to women's areas has massively increased.

Dress as yuu wish but you cannot change sex. The sooner the trans community and their allies accept this the sooner we can all move on.

The SC ruling made it clear, though the non-deluded among us knew - women are women because of biological sex. These men should NEVER have been invading our spaces. They should be apologising for spending the last 15 years or so pushing their way into our spaces but they’re tantrumming they haven’t got their way (like so many men do when it comes to women’s rights) and I’m amazed handmaidens come on here blubbering that we’re sooooo mean to the lovely men who simply just want to get their penises out in front of my teenage daughter

What I don't understand is how people can say "Yeah, society redefining women as a type of personality isn't great but it's not that important compared to the other things that happen to women so meh, we're gonna let one go".

Can't they see that if we start letting society, which is still at the end of the day focussed on men's perspectives, start to pick and choose which bits of being a woman matter and which can be handwaved away, we lose the ability to fight for women as we actually are?

This is it. It all matters. And every time we give in and take a step back, the misogynists take a step forward to claim that bit of territory.

We can’t afford to let go of one thing after another, each one perhaps seeming trivial, but all adding up to erasure in the end.

Early on, it may have seemed harmless to call men “she” if they wanted that. But, step by step, we’ve reached a place where men take women’s sports medals, men are applauded for ‘lactating’ when they express chemically induced secretions into a baby’s mouth, men take places in rape crisis centres and women’s wards and women’s prisons ….

It all started when we agreed to ‘be kind’ to male invaders.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/09/2026 11:07

Mumsnet has absolutely been instrumental in the resistance against the overreach of trans rights activism both in the U.K. and abroad. Women and girls are in a better position thanks to the U.K. Supreme Court judgment, the Forstater ruling and activism started and supported on Mumsnet. I am proud to have played my own small part in that, as I believe we all should be. Obviously not great news for misogynists, but there you go.

I didn’t know men were allowed in women’s toilets? I have never seen a man in there apart from a cleaner.
Are women allowed in men’s toilets?

A quick google search says they are not.

Edited

No, but many people think they should be and that women who object to this are “bigots”. Until the SC ruling men were allowed to barge their way into our toilets and safe spaces, and if we complained we’d get kicked out ourselves, called bigots, doxxed and even sometimes arrested

MiggyWoods · 15/09/2026 11:09

I’m so glad the likes of Ru Paul’s Drag Race has been binned

That's news to me. Excellent.

FreshJalapenos · 15/09/2026 11:10

Also @Mouldemort massive LOL at the “well trans people say mumsnet is to blame” - of course misogynistic men who are having big tantrums because women won’t do as they’re told, are gonna blame women. Why do you believe them?!
