Masked men at Dover - KKK vibes

MumofCandR · Yesterday 11:53

They are utter cowards and hypocritical. The same ilk will state they're against the burkha and protests by environmental groups etc. but are happy to mask their faces in 'protest' the reality is they're just nasty specimens of humanity, full of people with self righteous white supremacy tendencies. AIBU.

Cuts are on their way. More taxation. We can't sustain a unlimited spend for asylum seekers or prison for non UK nationals.

We have just had a child benefits cap, but people will tie themselves up in knots to say it's fine for other cultures to not want to use contraception in war zones, climate crises, starvation, civil war situations and then run to Europe. We can't house Africa and the middle east. On the thread about more tax, most want cuts instead, absolute madness to take anyone in.

I don’t believe u reside in the UK -
therefore your take on the matter is not required

Perhaps it’s a country not experiencing the same issues… or maybe it is.

Neither does Tommy Robinson. And Ditto.

I don’t have a problem with protest or face coverings

😂
I did have to laugh at the clip I saw of the BBC reporter asking why they were there and one of them just continually telling the others not to talk. I suspect he was worried at what his fellow Mensa candidates would come out with!

Don't tell him, Pike!

KatiePricesKnickers · Yesterday 15:23

The pro Palestine protesters have shown them the way.

So nobody can have an opinion on whats happening in another country?
I don't live in America but I have plenty of thoughts of what happens over there with Trump, ICE, the gun laws and so on...

metameta · Yesterday 15:23

Presumably they are emulating Mussolini’s black shirts. It’s fascism loud and proud - I don’t really see how people can actually deny this now.

Tommy Rob’s opinion definitely not welcome

it’s so frustrating that concerns about the loss of control of borders and the repercussions of this in our communities are conflated with racism

Bollocks! I havent seen pro palestine demonstrators with balaclavas on. When the police are busy arresting 70 year old women who are sat on the pavement holding a piece of cardboard those women are definitely not hiding their faces - probably because they aren't cowards.

Those thugs in Dover dont dare show their faces - how very brave of them 🙄🙄

No, they tend to cover their faces with Keffiyeh instead.

Burnhamsmascara · Yesterday 15:24

Provided the protests are peaceful I don't really care. It's a dangerous game for people to make a stand against the government so I think I understand why they chose to cover their faces. It's not great, but it probably says just as much about the state of the country and the level of distrust that many people have towards the Establishment, as it does about the people on the protest.

seahorsessky · Yesterday 15:25

The KKK presumably wouldn't have anyone who isn't white (never mind a chairman/spokesperson)? While a lot of Reform voters aren't white.
A lot of people aren't against face coverings per se, and wore them from 2020-22, but object to just one sex wearing them, especially if forced to.

Sasha07 · Yesterday 15:25

They were peaceful, they left when they were asked, there was no arrests. How many protests can you say that about?
There faces were covered to protect their identities. We can't still pretend two tier isn't a real issue. We also can't pretend that there wouldn't be a tonne of weirdos plastering their faces all over the internet when all they're doing is a peaceful protest. They shouldn't have to hide from people just for having an opinion, but if it's good for the goose, it's good for the gander.

People don't trust the government, obviously they aren't there to protect us. Anyone see the news story about the newbie getting off with csa as he said he was sorry? People don't trust the men who are often filmed being naked/drunk/disorderly/intimidating in playgrounds and public areas. People locally are being stalked and harassed by the newbies. One was raped by four of them a few towns over from me.

They aren't there to say they hate and want all races but white to live here. They're saying their BEHAVIOUR and their ways aren't compatible with ours. Did anyone see the Ross Kemp interview? https://www.facebook.com/share/r/19SKgy9xkf/ THIS attitude is what's coming to our shores. This and everything else is what they were standing up against. I don't support Nigel Farage but it's a reel someone posted to his page, before anyone gets a fetish over thinking I'm a Reform voter.

I saw a stupid reporter on Sky news today referring to the men as "peaceful" because they were carrying bottles of water on a hot day! Despite the fact they're dressed as paramilitary in order to intimidate. How can people be so dumb?!!

Was there public disorder or not?

Having an opinion on world affairs is absolutely legitimate-
but saying people who are protesting for an issue in their community are thick is a stretch too far, when the issue does not impact you -

I used to be liberal and still have the same core beliefs and values. Apparently I am far right now.

People do this at the Pro-Pal marches too. They use face masks or keffiyehs. It's very apparent at the campus protests too.

I think they're far worse to be honest. Calling for the destruction of an entire country of 10 million Jews and Arabs.

Can you really be surprised at people are angry OP? Given that we effectively have no border and our government does nothing. Surely you read the news. Every week it's horrifying after horrifying story in the papers. An OAP gets sodomized by an Eritrean migrant in a church yard in broad daylight? What did you think was going to happen. As the old adage goes, of reasonable people won't manage the border, unreasonable people will.

Prepare for civil war, basically..

Rise of parties and politicians in the UK specifically to represent Muslim interests doesn't seem particularly helpful either. The Balaclava men also seem a few steps away from becoming something akin to the Brown shirts.

Politicians need to get a grip and sort this country out

If you’ve been anywhere near Dover, you would understand that the police /
council would never authorise a protest in that area-
the impact that holds up to flow of traffic in/ out of that area are renowned -
the ferries / HGV’s etc etc

i would expect they would have been some side streets to protest in, well away from
any areas that would attract attention such a outside the port of Dover as they did

you can notify the authorities of a planned protest, but you cannot have any location by default -

im guessing but I would assume that they’ve gone for what would have brought most disruption / attention - cause disruption at the port
a bit like farmers driving tractors on the motorway to London
or the oil protesters lying on the roads blocking traffic / ambulances etc ..

Yes, because blocking infrastructure is wrong.

Supersimkin7 · Yesterday 15:30

No different to the ProPally protesters.

OP’s KKK comparison is offensive - although the Pally lot might not think so with the anti-semitism similarity.

Madamefroufrou · Yesterday 15:30

Visiblyabove25 · Yesterday 14:59

To take this good faith - why then did they not give the police advance notice so that the police could adequately allocate resources to support their protest? That’s what peaceful protestors do.

At the very best, these men were ignorant about our laws - which are there to protect the British public.

you are answering your own question -
they would not have been given permission of any kind,
of course they wouldn’t
asking authoritative permission risks an authoritative No

Everyone knows that it is only people that are up to no good, wearing balaclavas. See the recent behaviour in Middlesbrough and the recent BBC documentary on Glasgow. Balaclava sales have gone through the roof.
