AIBU to question a pool asking my four-year-old daughter to cover up?

If paedos in the pool are “affected” by children’s bodies I’m sure they will be equally affected by a boy since their torso looks the same.

I don’t think any of us normal people can understand the inner workings of these terrible people. They are everywhere. Someone I went to uni with has been arrested for child offences with a 10 and 12 year old. I’m sure many parents of boys put little tops on their boys in public pools also. Once you’ve had some experience of the darkness of some humans it makes you much more wary. Perhaps the worker knows differently and is trying to protect the young girl. It’s sad but many small children have been prayed upon and many adults have been those children. It’s a public swimming pool with indiscriminate access to little children. They are only small children in our eyes but their are many other eyes in public.

4 year old girls and boys are obviously very distinguishable. Nobody would look at my 4yo boy and think with his very short hair, boy features and boys clothes that he is a girl. Nobody would look at my 2yo daughter and think, with her long hair, female features and girls clothing that she is a boy.

Sadly in this day and age no way would I let my girls in a public pool wear no clothing on top. Prefer to be safe than sorry.

Actually Id rather they not oggle them at all. But Im not prepared to prevent my kids from swimming to ensure it and I dont think that the type of swimwear they wear makes any difference at all.

So now you're just being deliberately obtuse because you have nothing better to say. How expected. Yes most boys have long hair and wear pink and most girls have short hair and wear blue. Just as boys develop breasts which is why they're expected to cover their top half, while girls don't develop breasts and as such are not typically expected to do this.

Yes, obviously. And no, don't prevent them from swimming, obviously. But yes, ensure they are clothed, to discourage your child from being the easy target, obviously. Really is not hard to put appropriate swimwear on your children, I'm quite frankly stunned that so many people seem to struggle with this.
