Oh damn! Forgot about the time difference!!

In the words of Maxwell Smart "Sorry about that, Chief"!

Guess I'll have to watch the news and add my own 'silent snark'.

I do plan to have CNN on my car radio (Sirius XM stream) as I'm running errands so I may catch some of Scrotus' bullshit, depending on where he's placed during the service. Does he want to be the 'opening act' or the 'big finish'?

I wonder if the Graham family truly wants him giving a speech or if it was presented to them as a fait accompli. I doubt very much if they were given an opportunity to say "No, but thank you anyway".

I have never heard him give a eulogy.

And there is no young widow here. I can't see what his gain will be. But I think maybe his TRUTH storm the other day is indicative of his own mortality hitting home. This was someone 10 years younger than him, probably with a golf meet arranged. And boom... gone.

Most of us would consider how Graham went to be maybe the best way. Decent age, good life (for him anyway), then quick and fast.

Trump will want to go out in a blaze of glory I reckon. But here, one of the very few he could maybe call a "pall", just keeled over and went plop in a very ordinary way. That must scare Trump.

Oh, any news on men with Russian accents and pointy umbrellas yet ?

Bugger. Just remembered there will be a will. Just have put that on the card.

"Lindsey left it all to me. Everything. He said to me, "Sir, if I go before you, I want you to get everything that is coming to you""

" I will take his golf clubs, but I don't want his dirty book collection. It's amazing. Nobody has ever seen anything like it. I never even knew men done that to each other"

How much of his eulogy will actually be about Graham? 20'%?

TY 4 new thread @Spandauer
Going back to the post about the US mission walking out in response to the French speech at the UN where the US voted in line with Russia and North Korea. What nerve. No one is more "disrespectful" to everyone, than Trump.

If he does speak, I'm expecting it to start off scripted and somewhat reverent but will then veer off course (as per) and descend into off colour or disrespectful remarks in the same way that his brain and mouth couldn't engage at the fallen service members dignified transfer at Dover last week.

@RedTagAlan

I have never heard him give a eulogy.

Now that I think about it, neither have I. But then I can't think of any 'notable Repugs' whose funerals I actually watched. I'm only watching Lindsey's to see what Scrotus comes out with.

Just googled. I guess he gave a eulogy at Charlie Kirk's funeral. Must not have been very entertaining notable.

And there is no young widow here.

He's probably glad. No one to take the spotlight (or the camera) off him.

And I can't help but wonder if somewhere there is a heartbroken man sitting in a living room watching it all on TV.

Had a breakdown between appointments so watching now...I guess Scrotus doesn't know the words to the hymn and can't be bothered to read the order of service. PS Where's Waldo Melania?

dapsnotplimsolls · 28/07/2026 19:24

Actually, one of my favorite hymns.

Oh God, and away we go!!!

dapsnotplimsolls · 28/07/2026 19:29

He's still on script so far.

dapsnotplimsolls · 28/07/2026 19:32

Great Big Beautiful Bill - was that on the bingo card?

dapsnotplimsolls · 28/07/2026 19:40

And he's done. Melania must have threatened to cut his balls off if he started campaigning.

DuncinToffee · 28/07/2026 19:46

At one point he veered off (not watched so there could be more moments like this)

Trump takes issue with the Lindsey Graham eulogy he's reading: "Virtually everyone liked Lindsey. Well, not everybody. But it sounds good. I have to be honest. I have to veer from this for a second."

dapsnotplimsolls · 28/07/2026 19:58

Towards the end, he said something like 'no other man has (something or other) than this man sitting ... um ... lying here ... um ... wherever he is.'

So my Bingo scored a big fat ZERO. Oh well. next time.

But checking through the transcripts, see what I found from yesterday.

Interview: Donald Trump Calls In for a Live Interview on Fox News' Fox & Friends - July 28, 2026

The discussion is about Lindsey Graham, then Iran is mentioned and how Graham was against Iran getting nukes. That leads to this :

"AINSLEY EARHARDT 00:04:36-00:04:44 (8 SEC)
Satellite imagery, and intel indicates that Iran is actively constructing and fortifying Pickax Mountain. How will we respond?"

"DONALD TRUMP 00:04:44-00:05:03 (19 SEC)
Well, I don't need Bibi to tell me that. Bibi is telling me that because he wants me to stay involved. I mean, I don't necessarily we have the finest because of Space Force. We have the greatest cameras in the world focused on we know exactly what's going on. But no, I heard Bibi announce that. I said why don't you just tell it to me? Why do you have to announce it to the world?
I know exactly what's going on at Pickax, it's not a big problem. We took out their nuclear sites, and we'll have to take out Pickax if we don't make a deal. If we don't make a deal, we'll take it out very easily."

The Fox presenter had not mentioned Netanyahu. But Trump immediately volunteers what must be part of his discussion with Netanyahu.

"Bibi is telling me that because he wants me to stay involved."

"Why do you have to announce it to the world?"

So it appears Bibi wants him to stay involved, and that Bibi is trying to force Trumps hand by announcing thing Trump would rather not be mentioned.

Now see what Steve Doocy of Fox says "

"STEVE DOOCY 00:05:15-00:05:34 (20 SEC)
So, Mr. President, Netanyahu, as you said, you know exactly what he's going to say Mr. President, we've got to keep this war going. At the same time, I know that there are Republican officials in Washington, DC, who have an eye on November and they're going, Mr. President, you've got to wrap it up. So, you've got two different messages wrap it up, keep going."

Yeah. Fox news said :" Mr. President, we've got to keep this war going."

So he has Netantahu at him to bomb, and Fox news. And one thing we know about Trump, he can't keep his mouth shut.

Trump did make a big point in his LG eulogy that Graham was very instrumental and recognised as the main driving force in Congress in getting Kavanaugh (who he also praised) confirmed to SCOTUS.
Bastard.

The Third World breathes our air tomorrow
We live on the time we borrow
In our world there's no time for sorrow
In their world there is no tomorrow

Lines are drawn upon the world
But before we get our flags unfurled
Whichever one we pick
It's just a self-deluding trick

So this FIFA thing that is in the news. The thing where Infanto wants to sell off a chunk of the "competitions". Guess who is behind it and wants to buy it ?

Joshua Kushner. The brother of Jared.
