It seems that a transwoman was asked to leave the women's changing room.
Now it has emerged that this person has a 'comedy act; where they talk about being a schoolgirl and playing with themselves.
Please support the DP worker - who I believe has been suspended.

I just don't believe this happened. Darcie looks feminine enough to pass as a woman - I don't believe a member of staff would have refused them and said it's only for females.
It's one thing thinking that someone looks a bit like a man, it's another publically accusing them.

Darcie has locked Darcie's Twitter account it seems. Not surprised as when I saw it briefly earlier, the comments were nearly all critical, or supporting DPs.

I would also not be surprised if Darcie in real life looks quite a bit different to the profile pic Voice.

There is a clip of Darcie here. I didn't find Darcie funny, but I don't like stand up comedy so don't actually find any stand- ups funny.

I don't think I would have noticed from that clip if Darcie hadn't mentioned it right from the start.

Patchy and unpolished, but genuinely very funny.

I don't really understand the inverted commas or the opprobrium. It certainly is a comedy act and it's absolutely fine that comedy involves talking about taboo things, that's the nature of the joke in this act.

All that said, if DP actually have single sex changing rooms- great. Hopefully this thread will continue to focus on that. From the video and the fact that she's pulled her twitter this person seems potentially vulnerable to me.

Darcie has a small number of videos on YouTube. Most of them are the same jokes which were in the clip I linked to.

I really don't know if I would have recognised she is trans but she makes it her usp right from the start.

From the YouTube videos Darcie is either an excellent actor or quite vulnerable.

The unfortunate thing for Darcie is that up til now she has probably been able to access the changing rooms

Partially because she is obviously a transwoman and also because women were trying to be polite and it didn’t happen very often

Now self id has been proposed and we know men will take the piss so some of us are much more alert

And darcie looks lovely in her photos, and all suited and booted may still have been ok

But if she was having a dress down day, because a lot of people do, it might have been more obvious. Ive only been mistaken for a man when in jeans and a jacket, never in a dress

I will definitely be shopping at DP more now. I no longer visit Primark or Top Shop because of their backwards policies re safe spaces for women.

No female should be placed in this position though. It's selfish of Darcie to place the shop worker and female customers changing in this position.

I wonder if Darcie, who said they were there with their wife, was doing some version of this at Dotty P -- not quietly walking into a cubicle but making a performance of it, using the corridor part of the changing room for a catwalk and announcing that they are a transwoman in their quavering lady voice.

I think its worth writing to Dorothy Perkins for clarification on their policy. The social media person on duty apologised and said it wouldn't happen again, but she may have been trying to be nice and making it up on the spot.
