Beat me to it!

BigotedWoman · 20/10/2018 17:45

Yes good comments. Story presented entirely without comment by the Mail, they know what they're doing.

FlaviaAlbia · 20/10/2018 17:46

Did you notice the 7.6k shares?!
That's a lot of publicity with the consultation extended now!

Mrskeats · 20/10/2018 17:49

One of the few times I’ve agreed with Mail readers. The comments are heartening.

heresyandwitchcraft · 20/10/2018 17:50

The photo from the podium really does most of the work, doesn't it? When you SEE it visually, it's so hard to argue against. Unless you're so deep in the ideology that your brain can't even process the image properly.

Oblomov18 · 20/10/2018 18:02

" 'Trans women are women. We must compete as women."

But that's not correct, is it? A woman born female is a woman isn't she?

Not a man born as a male.

PeakTrans · 20/10/2018 18:06

This is not the same as the civil rights movement

Clearly the winner has a physical advantage over the runners up

Mumfun · 20/10/2018 18:11

I wish the tabloids had picked up more on Pip Bunce.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 20/10/2018 18:11

Im just so angry

The fact that the third placed competitor makes a comment anout how unfair it is and then has to issue a grovelling apology due to a back lash

Really beyond angry,

MyEyesAreNotDeceivingMe · 20/10/2018 18:15

It’s this kind of coverage that can easily peak trans the casual observer. When I showed DH the photo earlier in the week he said - that’s a bloke, look at the size of his thighs. He’s a cheat. No one likes a cheat. He’s a bloke who couldn’t make it as bloke.

I wish the tabloids had picked up more on Pip Bunce.

I agree, but Pips Bunce, to a casual observer is slightly comedic. Even his name Pips Bunce, has comedy value.

Rachel McKinnon on the other hand is the personification of trans entitlement in all its competitive glory . And the photographic evidence of physical advantage is undeniable.

Obvious man is obvious.

Rubidium · 20/10/2018 18:36

I wonder who leaned on the third placed woman to make her apology?

AspieAndProud · 20/10/2018 18:39

I think the forced apology is the worst part. It’s like having to respect the pronouns of some thug who punched you.

CallingDannyBoy · 20/10/2018 18:52

Aspie but that never happens........

Callmejudith · 20/10/2018 18:53

It's the first time I've seen the video linked to in the article. Makes it even more obvious. The Mail know exactly what they're doing with this one.

TheCraicDealer · 20/10/2018 19:05

I think the non-apology she released is fair enough. She's saying sorry to McKinnon but still saying she's unhappy with the rules and working with a group to get them changed. She's done as much as she can without looking like a bitter, sore loser.

AspieAndProud · 20/10/2018 19:05

The difference in height is a good visual indicator of the physical advantage men have over women but it doesn’t show the magnitude of the differences in testosterone levels.

Men have twenty times as much as women so we are really talking about a difference in scale like this.

AspieAndProud · 20/10/2018 19:05

Gah, picture missing.

McKinnon doesn’t seem to realise that there really is very little difference between people who have different levels of pigmentation in their skin, beyond the colour of their skin, so it isn’t comparable at all.

Gncq · 20/10/2018 19:27

If you compete you accept the rules, otherwise, don't compete. I can only imagine what she had to go through in her life to be where she is now, how hard it is to fit in.

Helping someone to "fit in" is no reason to destroy sports for women.

And besides, this is another myth perpetuated by the trans cult isn't it, that it's oh so veh hard.

So this Mckinnon, decides to fulfil his wildest sexual fantasy of portraying himself as a woman full time. Realises he could win a bunch of gold medals and break world records in the process.

What a tough, tough journey.

merrymouse · 20/10/2018 19:29

and then has to issue a grovelling apology due to a back lash

I think it was more that she could see that there was no point in pursuing the argument on social media. The problem is the rules.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 20/10/2018 19:34

merry

Its was this bit i had a problem with
