Join Sheila Jeffreys, Nicole Jones and Anne Ruzylo for the We Need To Talk event Inconvenient Women on Wednesday 13th June 7-10pm in London.

Lesbian feminists Sheila Jeffreys and Nicole Jones discuss the implications of transgender rights activism for women and children.

Sheila Jeffreys, Professorial Fellow at the University of Melbourne, will analyse the Yogyakarta Principles, the foundations of the promotion of gender identity in international law.

Nicole Jones is an art sudent student and activist and will discuss how these laws will affect us. Former Labour Women's Officer and trade unionist, Anne Ruzylo, will chair the meeting.

This meeting will be filmed by TV broadcasters and live streamed.

Due to violent opposition to these meetings from transactivists we cannot disclose the venue details.

Meeting point is Costa Coffee, 1 Duke's Road, London WC1H 9PJ near Euston station from 6pm. There will someone there to direct you to the nearby venue until 7pm.

Both the cafe and the venue are fully accessible for disabled attendees.

Yay! I'm definitely coming, and I can't wait to meet you all.

I don't know anyone yet. Will there be a sign or something so that we know who to approach in Costa?

Pratchet · 05/06/2018 20:27

Bought me ticket👍

spontaneousgiventime · 05/06/2018 20:32

Venice, I left you a message on the other thread, you must have missed it.

My daughter lives around 30-45 mins out of London, she wants her and I to attend a London meeting, she can't make this one as her hubby is working late so won't have child care. Will there be another meeting in London soon? I can travel to London from the NE, meet her there then stay at her house that night but advance notice would be fantastic to arrange booking days off and making sure her hubby will be home. Thanks.

Love the title! Hopefully I'll be watching the live stream.

The title is perfect. Like the suffragettes!

I've got my childcare sorted and I'm definitely coming.

Really looking forward to meeting some of the FWR crowd in Costa.

BeyondSceptical · 05/06/2018 21:28

Anyone driving from South Wales? Grin

drradfem · 05/06/2018 22:27

Hi London - see you there 🌟

J4nice · 06/06/2018 03:55

I'm coming but you won't be able to tell I'm an activist because I will be volunteering at the venue and don't worry I already know where it is and have been invited 😆

J4nice · 06/06/2018 03:56

I won't be chasing any trouble I just want to have a good laugh and chuckle to myself

J4nice · 06/06/2018 03:57

@drradfem

Will there be security at the venue? Since it's a fairly central location, I can imagine the TRAs will easily get a big group together to try and intimidate us.

If not, would it be worth informing the police before the event?

drradfem · 06/06/2018 16:36

We will have security and a police presence. These meetings usually start with high drama. If that's not you're thing, please watch the live stream from the comfort of your own home
