TRAs lobbying Cow & Gate

TRAs are lobbying Cow & Gate to disassociate with Mumsnet.

Setting aside the events of the last few days, can anyone who is able please tweet @cowandgate to show your support of Mumsnet and of the platform they give us.

TRAs are using the "whistleblow" data breach of EH to facilitate their arguments. Let's not let the damage caused spread any further!

Don't bother, MN don't accept adverts from formula companies.

It's great if the TRAs waste their time on this.

I suppose any advertiser needs to consider the key question "Do more women/mothers or "Men who self-id as women" buy my product(s)?". Based on the answer to this they can decide whether they wish to boycott mumsnet (and in return have many mners boycotting them) or risk a boycott by "Men who self-id as women". I suspect that not many "Men who self-id as women" buy Cow & Gate products.

Zerofox I can't post a screenshot as this is a replacement account and I haven't posted enough, but the food pouches carry the MN rated logo.

the food pouches carry the MN rated logo

Thanks I wasn't aware. Does MN get any money for use of the logo?

What’s the association between c&g and Mumsnet? I thought they didn’t accept ads from formula co’s (rightly so)?

Never mind!

Brands that are awarded a Mumsnet Rated badge can then pay a licensing fee to use it on any offline or online marketing material for that particular product or service, for a period of 12 months.

It's like a mutual advertising thing I guess. MN must gain a little traffic by use of the logo, and the product bearing the logo may sell more as a result.

Grandmaswagsbag The baby food note - not formula carry the MN rated logo.

Mumsnet is the biggest parenting site in the country.

I'm sure the CEO of Cow and Gate is going to say yeah, let's not advertise to potentially 12 million mothers. Because of someone else's ideology.

This is just ridiculous, and self-defeating.

Looks like I picked a bad day to give up being ashamed of being Trans.

Oh come on. They are not going to pull their advertising a company that predominantly consists of its key target group to a tiny group of woman hating nutters.

Once more, a very visible absence of logic in this group.

Poor Cow & Gate. It's like fight club on their twitter mentions.

Hopefully they'll take the same stand as Justine and stand up for speech.

I hope the transactivists boycott these companies, how much exactly are they spending on these products?

I’m newly pregnant, I also have a house full of kids. I debate in a reasoned, educated, informed manner that doesn’t include violence, threats, intimidation or fear. I’m pretty certain these companies want to keep the business of me and others like me.

Would companies like to be on the side of women who read, discuss and debate or the side of those who scream, deny biology, close down debate and beat 60 year old women?

I'd love to know how much TRAs spend on spaghetti-bolognese-mush.

It would actually be hilarious if C&G did fold under TRA pressure resulting in an MNer boycott - would they be expecting sufficient numbers of self-IDing "toddlers" to make up for the lost sales?

Yup to 'self-defeating'. I wonder how many employees of C&G will peak trans as a result of the company being targeted?

I hope the TRA's threatened boycott works on Birds Eye.

Then Birds Eye will have to gain new customers by reinstating their original battered fish fingers recipe and I will be once again their best customer 😉

What I'd give to see a bunch of TRA with jars of C&G baby rice.

Poor Cathy at Cow and Gate. Imagine being an intern and having to put up with all that shit when you probably normally get a couple of tweets a day.

Wombman · 20/04/2018 22:55

I think cow and gate can cope. Theyre down to earth. Last time I looked their formula said Follow-on Milk ... should not be used as a breastmilk substitute...

Not Chest Feeding milk? Oh dear, perhaps they've already chosen the side of rationality and science.

Sorry everyone, exactly why are the TRAs protesting against Cow&Gate? Is it something to do with pregnant 'people' instead of pregnant women?

Report
MadBadDaddy · 21/04/2018 01:58

C&G advertise on 'Mumsnet' and the rest is a big stupid pointless mess.
