Hope this link works:

Please have a look. If your MP is on there, is it worth another quick email to them? A link to BetsyM00's amazing resource thread?

I feel a bit sick now, like the bit in Indiana Jones where the huge ball drops and starts to roll.

DAMNIT why can't I do clicky links?!

MacaroonMama Thu 19-Oct-17 08:54:45

Twitter. I think we need to tweet them? Do we? I am tempted to set up a Twitter thing just for this purpose. The Early Day Motion accepts all these crazy recommendations which are presented without any evidence to back them up. Aaagh!

Ereshkigal Thu 19-Oct-17 08:55:52

I can't see it on that page. It says nothing there.

MacaroonMama Thu 19-Oct-17 09:01:53

Rats, sorry Ereshkigal I will try again...

MacaroonMama Thu 19-Oct-17 09:02:55

Is that working now? Xx

MacaroonMama Thu 19-Oct-17 09:03:38

Thank you duck xx

Ereshkigal Thu 19-Oct-17 09:05:09

No it says nothing there. Is this the one you mean?

"recognises that verbal, physical and sexual assaults towards those with a non-cis gender identity is the highest of all minority hate-crime, with over half of transgender women reporting they have been sexually or physically assaulted"

Really? I'd be interested in seeing the data on that.
Especially after what's gone on over the last couple of days.

MacaroonMama Thu 19-Oct-17 09:06:38

Yep that's it. Sorry my link not working.

Ifitquackslikeaduck Thu 19-Oct-17 09:07:24

Ok, ignore me, just realised it says 'minority hate crime' and women are obviously not a minority.

jellyfrizz Thu 19-Oct-17 09:09:01

"recognises that verbal, physical and sexual assaults towards those with a non-cis gender identity is the highest of all minority hate-crime, with over half of transgender women reporting they have been sexually or physically assaulted."

^^This is just factually wrong for a start.

Ereshkigal Thu 19-Oct-17 09:11:50

It's shitty, but I don't think it's too much to worry about in and of itself. We know that's what they think after that ridiculous inquiry. It's interesting to see who has signed it. We need to raise more awareness. I'm more concerned about Theresa May blithely saying that the law will be changed yesterday.

Ereshkigal Thu 19-Oct-17 09:13:46

I think that assault stat is bullshit. They are not assaulted more than women.

jellyfrizz Thu 19-Oct-17 09:14:30

Also non-cis? And why only 'transgender women' mentioned in terms of assault reported?

Ereshkigal Thu 19-Oct-17 09:16:06

It was probably drafted by Paris Lees or someone.

jellyfrizz Thu 19-Oct-17 09:20:20

And how does self-ID lead to less discrimination and assault?

MacaroonMama Thu 19-Oct-17 09:20:44

Yep, that bit about "specialist GPS" reminds me of that meandering Trans Agenda - do you remember? The one about wanting all this NHS spending etc.

It is the 'accepting in full' that worries me. Not even questioning where this stuff is coming from.

Ifitquackslikeaduck Thu 19-Oct-17 09:21:36

"And how does self-ID lead to less discrimination and assault?"

Exactly. I really wish they would answer this.

Ereshkigal Thu 19-Oct-17 09:22:07

The Edinburgh Action for Trans Health one that people thought was a joke at first, it was so ridiculous in its many demands?

MacaroonMama Thu 19-Oct-17 09:24:30

Exactly jellyfrizz - people who assault and discriminate are not going to suddenly change their minds in the presence of a GRC! It is illogical.

Speeding up such a life-changing process is a really bad idea. If people really wanted looking after while transitioning (the genuine transgender people), surely they would want medication that has been tested and is safe, and lots of counselling/psychiatric assessment to help them through it?

MacaroonMama Thu 19-Oct-17 09:25:23

Ereshkigal yep that was it. It read like a very bad performance poem...
