And some people think we don't need feminism any more.

I nearly cried when I went to wake up my DD this morning. What kind of world is she going to grow up in? I'm so glad she's only 2 and I don't have to explain this to her.

We live in angry and uncertain times.
The misogyny during the campaign was just shocking.
Angry

This does seem to be the case. I'm speechless and sadly feel this will embolden those inclined towards sexism and racism around the world.

Of course it will trying. Look at the surge in racist hate crime post referendum here. I would be terrified to be an ethnic minority in the US today. And only slightly less frightened of be there as a white woman.

Sums it up perfectly - how could any women vote for him?

*By a woman who stands by another man accused of assaulting women.

Thought I'd correct that for you.

Yep, Hilary was held to a far higher standard than any man. I am disgusted by the misogyny and racism that is openly spouted by "the people."

Right now I want "the people" to fuck off, I am sick of them trashing my world.

Lumpy And yet you see it as your world. Says more about you than them.

I am so horrified. I've just been told to "stop making it all about women". I can't look my daughters in the eyes. It seems so pointless trying to pass on my beliefs to them when the world clearly thinks otherwise.

Yeap.

It doesn't matter how much power he'll actually have, the USA has just proved that any male no matter how unqualified and immoral (not to mention criminal) is still better than a woman.

It's said that sexual assaulting women and boasting about it is ok. As someone on another thread said it's proof that a rape accusation doesn't harm a man career…

I predict in the USA that sexual assaults will increase and convictions go down.
Homophobic and racist attacks will increase.
Shootings of in particular young black men will increase but seem to decrease as it won't be reported as much. Or will be deemed justifiable.
Attacks on abortion clinics will increase, the few that are left, that's if it's not outlawed totally.

Scarey scarey day

I am sickened by this. Cant even think about it for too long. The next four years are going to be horrific.

Its so ingrained that men can do a better job that a fuckwit is now president. Hilary clinton was researching universal healthcare 20 something years ago for the US he wants to build a fucking wall.

It certainly looks that way. Hard to fathom how America can vote in Obama one election and Trump the next...

The only saving grace is he has to get his ridiculousness through senate.

Jerry in part it's a reaction to Obama. If you listen to Trump's victory speech you can clearly hear people shouting 'Jail Obama, Jail Obama'.

Saw someone on a friend's social media earlier claiming to have 'survived' Obama too...

Seems that the only thing worse than a black president is a woman...
