Hope your feeling better Connie, don't feel guilty about being off work - if you're ill, you're ill!

Well I have maintained this week - I weigh myself daily and had lost 3lbs by saturday - then I went to flippin Pizza Express and blew it on a starter, pizza and a yummy pudding, and when I weighed in I had put those 3lbs back on!!!!!!! Oh well, try again this week! Not sure Im going to meet the mini target I set myself of losing a stone in 4 weeks - only lost 5lbs so far, 2 weeks in!

Fuzzy, I'm not preaching or anything, but it's really bad to weigh yourself daily... Your weight can fluctuate from a loss to a gain in a matter of hours & leaves you so disheartened.

What did you have to eat at Pizza Express? Was it a whole pizza? 'Cos I've seen the syns in one of their pizzas & it doesn't make pretty reading!! Seems a lot for something to nice.

I have a taster evening on Wednesday, any ideas of what I should take with me?

Hope you are feeling better ConnieComplaint, we have swine flu doing the rounds at my work, am pretty scared about catching it tbh, but what will be will be. You never know, it might help my weight loss!

I used to weigh myself everyday but have been so good for the past couple of weeks. I had a 1lb loss this week which was rubbish really, but then it is star week and I had 2 takeaways (naughty but soooo nice!)

Hope you're feeling better connie. Can't be any fun being ill in this weather. At least in winter you can snuggle up warm.

I onceweighed myself before and after breakfast (a bowl of cereal) and had put on 4lbs - and I'd been to the loo in between!

Aw thanks! I still feel poo but I'm also bored with not having been out all day.

Well done on the loss Kid, especially with the two take aways!! I had beef chow mein on Saturday night, well, I had half a portion, as for some reason I can't eat full portions anymore.

I'm feeling a little peckish now but not sure what I can have apart from fruit as I think I'm on an EE day so far:

B/fast/Lunch: 1 slice w/meal toast [HEB], scrambled egg & bacon (ate the whole slice toast but left the rest)

Dinner: sw chips, fish with beans (ate most of the fish and only a couple of chips)

snack: 1 cadbury's rose & some angel delight

I know I'm sick, and it might be a bit old fashioned, but I still like to sit at the table with dh & the kids to hear about school etc... so I had small portions when my throat would allow me to swallow!!

Would love an Alpen light bar but have used my HEB.... though I suppose I could syn it.

Wow Ria, that's great!

AM - I've just been searching the sparkly place for gooseberry recipes and found your post asking for the same. I've got a couple of recipes in the dessert cookbook which I think could easily be adapted, do you want me to post them? One for blackcurrant fool and one for fruit crumble.

Hi everyone, im new here. Just joined SW, need to loose half a stone.

Started yesterday and have been doing really well.

I am after a couple of answers please, you know those pasta packet meals where you add water and milk and cook on hob? Are they free or have very little syns if only cooked with water? I had one for lunch but only used water in it.

Thanks.

I didn't WI at group today, its a long walk and im not allowed to drive untill stitches are out, my scales are saying i have lost 1lb so thats cool.

I did go to Pizza hut today with FIL but was really good.......

Connie, ahem, I had mushroom bruscetta (with a creamy sauce on it), a whole pepperoni pizza, and then a toffee fudge sundae...oops!! I know I shouldnt weigh myself daily, Im a bit obsessed to be honest so I find it a hard habit to break, but I know it isnt healthy.

well done Ria! 4lbs is a great loss!

npg - the batchelors pasta n sauce tomato one is free, the ones where you add milk have only 1 or 2 syns in, if you count the milk as your HE and dont add any butter

Report
ConnieComplaint · 30/06/2009 22:23

Fuzzy, you can kick my behind... I weighed myself this morning & this evening again... don't know why.. it's cos the scales were in a place that they never normally are because dh had been 'rearranging'.........

npg1, most of those pasta n sauces are free (Batchelors) but there are ones with syns in them, they're the cheesier ones tho so steer clear of them (though they're still quite low syns, not 10 or anything!)

The fact you used water will mean you are saving a HEA on the milk

And never add the butter they 'suggest'... it doesn't make a difference taste wise but uses syns

Hi, hopefully you don't mind me being on your thread, I'm not doing SW but DH is. I am the cook in the house, so I need help with meal ideas etc!

At the moment I'm trying to work out a nice marinade/ covering for pork kebabs (green day with pork as HE). Nando's Peri Peri sauce is only half a syn but I can't find one for Reggae Reggae sauce (it's packed with sugar ) - any ideas for good low-syn marinades?

Report
fuzzypeach · 01/07/2009 08:54

mrsjamin - i make a marinade with honey soy and chinese 5 spice, you only need a bit of honey and its 1syn per tsp, the rest is free

Report
MrsJamin · 01/07/2009 12:31

That's a great tip, thanks fuzzypeach, did just soy and chinese spice the other day and it was too dry so honey is a good idea.

Report
Rialentless · 01/07/2009 13:21

honey, garlic and soy is nice.

the harissa paste on the chicken breasts didn't work too well though.

Just bought some fat free pre-biotic yoghurts from marks and spencers - do you think they are free? looked online at the syns, but think they are new and arent included on there, not sure if its just mullerlights or all fat free yoghurts?
