Hi Smile

I have a significant birthday coming up in 5 weeks time.

I really really want to lose a stone by then. I'm 10st 8lb now. I have been creeping up from 9 1/2 stone since autumn last year. I'm best at 9 1/2 stone, I feel like "me" and my clothes fit properly.

I've been snacking and being lazy. Buying junk I know I don't need. Telling myself I'm going to start "tomorrow" every day but failing by teatime. I really don't want to have this extra stone on my birthday.

Does anyone else fancy joining me for support/tips swapping/motivation? Apparently, if you've made a written commitment, it's 58% more likely to happen than if you only thought it. Or something. All I know is I want to lose this stone and a few buddies along the way would be great Smile

Anyone in with me?

I'll join you - starting tomorrow though as currently snowed in and lacking in healthy food at the moment! I think I'm a similar weight.

I’ve been away for the weekend eating hospital canteen food. There’s no fresh food in. I was dreaming of vegetables last night....I’m two stone overweight at 12.5 stone.

I need to buy veg, cut out the snacking at work and have fish not pie for tea tonight. There’s s plan.

I'm in - similar weight to you and this prolonged winter hasn't helped my vague thoughts of getting fit "when spring is here". My plan is to cut out/reduce sugar and carbs, and move more.

Hey! Can I join please? I am same weight as you, I’m aiming for about 10st though.

Less snacking and less carbs is my aim.

I’m joining in !
Going on a cruise holiday the first week in May ( no pressure )
I’d like to lose a stone , but I have no willpower at all
Definitely been comfort eating this winter , which seems to have lasted forever
I’m going to try and cut down on the wine , and top up with fruit and veg

Joint in here-I'm about twice your size OP at my largest ever & had enough. I've successfully done slimming world in the past but it's not what I need. Am trying the Paul McKenna programme which is 'just' changing your mindset about food etc

My worst time is the evening when I like to drink wine & eat crisps so my plan for this week is to drink a herbal tea at 8pm & go to bed at 9pm to read! No wine until Saturday 😬

I have about 3 stone to lose. A wedding to attend in August so would like to be down a dress size at least!
Am planning to drastically cut down the booze, exercise more, eat mainly plants.
Going to go swimming today!
Have a great day all & good luck! StarStarStarStar

5 weeks will see me at the London marathon start line

Would love to lose a bit more....lost just under 3 stone with slimming world. But I've been over doing the carb loading and just eating rubbish under the mistaken belief 'I will just run it off'Hmm

I'm back on it today!!! Thankyou for the thread op

Yay! Friends Flowers Grin Hello and welcome all!! Let's make this be a really great positive place where we will get to where we want to be!

Genuinely it's really great to see you all and I love the variety of reasons - London Marathon - wow!!! Weddings, cruises... I do find having a goal in mind keeps me more focused, otherwise I find it too easy to not care from one day to the next... I'm determined to be back to my usual weight on my birthday.

I'm putting out my positive thought for the day (the old "writing it down and it'll happen thing - why not?! Smile

Today, I'm going to make better choices so when I wake up tomorrow I'll be lighter than I was today. It's one day at a time in the early days!
I have already swerved some left over chocolate roll that is to be honest a bit stale and not very nice but I'd have eaten it anyway usually. NOT TODAY though! Smile. My downfall is evening times when I can snack forever so I'm going to load up on some fruit for that. Also drink more water. (a bit of planning ahead).

Anyone else have any favourite tips to share? Smile

My best tip is not having snack food in the house-I’m my own worst enemy though as can’t resist buying them. Easter is my fav time of year for the treat food too-not helping!

I also try and think of the money I save from not buying treat food. Sort of helps.....? Plus all the lovely clothes I have that will fit nicely again, I’ve got a dress I’ve not worn yet hung up where I can see it as a reminder.

My best tip is go to bed early and brush my teeth.... not tempted to come down 2 flights of stairs to raid the fridge! ( townhouse)

Buster - I definitely agree on the not having snack food in the house! If it's in the house I snack on it, simple as that, or else what's it doing there? Grin

And the hanging a lovely outfit up tip - that's a favourite old trick of mine which I used to do and forgot about, so thanks for the reminder! As it happens I have a very nice but very fitted Karen Millen dress which I've only worn once when I was properly slim enough to do it justice. I'd quite like to wear that on my birthday. I'm going to dig it out as a reminder. Maybe put a photo of it on the fridge too!

Run - going to bed early also another great tip, thanks! I can do a lot of snacking damage in the last half hour before bed. Plus the extra sleep is good for you. Win-win really Smile

I'll join! I have a friends wedding in 6 weeks and want to be less wobbly!

I've lost 2 stone since having my baby 14 months ago but have reached a wall. A wall made of chocolate and chips!

Am loving the hang an outfit idea, although I fear DH will keep tidying it away!

Just one curiosity

So you are fine. You see I can't stop at one

I've just run 4 Miles. Short run today, but need to eat properly tonight as I'm aiming for half marathon distance tomorrow so I need to 'fuel' it correctly

I'm in that awkward stage where I've done a run and got a big run planned tomorrow so my inner demon voice is saying 'eat the easter chocolate/pizza/' you will run it off it's fine'Hmm

But no. I need to sort myself out!

Would love to join! But not sure if I'm mentally ready.

Pretty much same stats as you OP

Had my DS 6 weeks ago and have lost 2 stone since then (despite grazing on junk)

I'm finding it hard to feel motivated as I'm so tired but at the same time hate how I look!

I need a kick up the bum!

Wow curiosity and Cheshire, both 2st down after having a baby! That's fab. It's so hard to get back into the groove after a baby, for me it's the sleepless nights meaning energy levels are low at odd points of the day which means reaching for the biscuits... Confused

And run, 4 miles, I'm v impressed! I really need to do more regular exercise. I'm just so crap at running! Have you been going running for a long time?

I've done my usual thing of starting off really healthy, then the day got super busy, I wasn't prepared with fruit and healthy snacks etc so I've ended up pinching some of DH's pizza for dinner instead Hmm... I'm a bit disappointed with myself tbh. I wanted to start and finish properly. But, I guess at least I didn't have loads of pizza... (clutching at straws).

So plan for tomorrow's food is: buy stuff in for DH & DCs that I don't like (but they do, of course) and lots of fruit and healthy snacks. I've hardly drunk any water today either.

But overall, I'm slightly less calories in than usual (I think, I hope) so I'm fingers crossing it's not been a total disaster.

How has everyone else done today?

Hello, I’d love to join in, please. I’d like to lose a stone in time for going to a festival in late July, so I won’t feel like a frump when I’m there surrounded by twenty somethings. Also trying to grow out a Mum bob so planning on biotin as well. Surely I can sort it in four months?

Evening snacking gets me. Especially if I’m low carving, I’ll eat nuts and olives (and drink wine) way too much. Trying to sit here tonight with herbal tea and water. Think I’ll go to bed soon as this is a bit boring!

Havent quite lost 2 stone after having my baby 6 weeks ago but i was overweight to begin with so need to lose another stone to get to pre-preg weight then another two to get to goal 10.7.

I'll join too. I put on half a stone since Christmas making me 10 st 6 lb so more or less the same as the OP. I'm addicted to crisps so I don't buy them during the week but I end up snacking endlessly on crackers and hummus or cheese to satisfy the craving for salt. I'm going to try to get to Friday on three meals a day with absolutely no snacking. I need to cut down on the endless teas and coffees too.
