Nice Cardiff Hotel with Adjoining Rooms - ideas please!

Hello Ladies,

I'm looking for a hotel in Cardiff for boxing day night and the 27th Dec. I need it to have adjoining rooms so we can sling the kids in one room and at least watch a bit of TV and abuse the room service for the evening.

Previously we've used the Cardiff Hilton, but they appear to have no availability for those dates having checked online. I'd be up for trying somewhere new anyway. Doesn't have to be in Cardiff. We want somewhere nice cos it's a Christmas treat whilst we visit our IL's (who have cats, so we can't stay with them because we are all allergic).

Ideally no further away from Bridgend than Cardiff.

Any suggestions? The key is the adjoining rooms. Ta.

We got married in the St David's Hotel in Cardiff Bay - it's v v nice. Don't know about the adjoining rooms though but worth phoning to ask.

I would guess most hotels are selling chritsmas packages on 24th Dec x 3 nights.

Think you will struggle to find availability and it won't be cheap.

Have you tried St Davids?

Yes (swoon), we did St David's B.C. and the spa is amazing, and they made a little jenga tower out of my chips. We haven't been back since having the LO's but I'll give them a try.

Mercure Holland House hotel or something like that on newport Road? Dunno about adjoining rooms but you could ask. Similar standard to Hilton.

If central Cardiff not essential try Miskin Manor or Vale Hotel... ? The Egerton Grey is supposed to be VERY nice.

We went to a wedding last weekend in the millenium Copthorne Hotel in Cardiff - was a gorgeous "family" room, with curtained off huge bed for us, and sofa and two beds for kids in the other bit.

Coed Y Mwster (sp?) out in the sticks nr Bridgend is also supposed to be nice, not sure about the rooms though.

Should have said they do adjoining rooms too as we know others that had them

Ohh, St David's do adjoining rooms! Have found a deal online where rooms are £115. Spoke to someone at the hotel who said if you use an online service just make sure you ask for adjoining rooms in the special requirements bit. Do you think this site seems kosher?

They want £37.50 non refundable deposit, which is taken as part of the payment, not an additional payment, IYSWIM.

too good to be true?

Anyone got an opinion on whether this offer looks kosher before I splash my hard earned cash?
