Hotel/place recommendation in Scotland

It's DH's big birthday in June and I was looking to book a couple of nights away for both of us and our 18 month old since we're unlikely to get away abroad this year.

So far we were looking at a hotel in old meldrum but does anyone have any other recommendations? Preferably within a couple hours drive from Edinburgh/Glasgow and family friendly.

Thanks!

Auchrannie Resort on Arran, added fun of the ferry journey (no need to take a car over, they will pick you up).

A third vote for Crieff Hydro, much more family friendly than Cameron house and having stayed there in covid times very, very clean.

KIds stayed at Auchrannie with their Dad and loved it so also a good idea if you want somewhere less central.

DH and I stayed in the Crieff Hydro, not a pleasant experience at all. Absolutely rammed with people, the facilities couldn’t cope.

Kinghorn has a hotel by the river, cannot remember the name though.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
I think I left it a wee bit late, a lot of these places were booked up on our date or just a bit out of our price range.
I managed to book us a wee luxury log cabin just north of aviemore for a long weekend Smile
