Hi folks,

Some of you might have already seen, but Protected Species are offering Mumsnetters 40% off their lovely range of coats, which have proven very popular on MN in the past (if you don't believe us, take a look at this thread from last year).

Now you can keep the summer showers at bay with 40% off the Waterproof Mac, Waterproof Parka, or Waterproof Commuter. Just enter the code MUMSNET40 at checkout. Enjoy Grin

(Code not valid for use on the Rain Bomber, Waterproof Winter Parka, or Waterproof City Walker. Code expires 18 August 2019.)

Mumsnet carries some affiliate marketing links, so if you buy something through our posts, we may get a small share of the sale (more details here).

Got two more today. I buy them in a size larger as I like to layer up underneath them in very cold weather and when it is milder I prefer the oversized look.

This time I got another parka and my first commuter coat.

Thank you for the generous discount.

I was planning on buying a PS jacket in the coming months but obviously couldn’t ignore the amazing 40% discount! Just ordered a Commuter 😊

Check your emails if you have bought from them as they have sent out an email to existing customers only, giving them a chance to get 50% off a small selection of their coats in limited sizes!

So I bought another one! Grin

Morning everyone - I've got some good news! Protected Species have extended the code until 18 August 2019. I have updated the OP to reflect this. Enjoy Grin

Not sure you've linked to the right thread there @HannahGMumsnet

That one seems to be largely people thinking they are frumpy.....

I'm currently emailing them as apparently the code isn't valid on the city walker, it's currently out of stock in my size, due in on August 10th, so when the code is still apparently valid but they say no discount Sad on new stock. It worked when I checked last night, but they have removed it this moring Hmm. Perhaps you need to update the offer here as otherwise you're going to have similarly disappointed mumsnetters.

Hi @DoctorNicoleWatterson - thanks for letting me know! I've been in contact with Protected Species this morning, and I will let you know what they say. I will also be sure to update everyone if the offer has changed.

Hi everyone - and thanks for bearing with me while I got this sorted.

Protected Species have been in touch, and say that the discount code listed above can only be used on pre-existing stock. This does unfortunately mean the code can't be used on the City Walkers which have been newly restocked.

I have updated the OP to make sure this is reflected, and am sorry we didn't pick up on this sooner @DoctorNicoleWatterson!

CW10 will get you 10% off their new colour range in the city Walker if you are an existing customer like me.

are they breathable? I keep finding that waterproofs are set up to be sweatboxes, especially on long walks.

PS I know it says they are - but many companies say they are...!

Yes they are breathable. Very lightweight to wear as well. I can wear mine in very cold weather with a base layer and a fleece and they are lovely and windproof as well.

I always buy a size bigger as I like to layer underneath. But when worn with a light tip they look fine as well.
