Mumsnet users share what they're looking forward to post-lockdown with IKEA

It may be hard to think beyond the lockdown, but we’re all looking forward to getting back to doing the everyday things that we might have taken for granted. With this in mind, IKEA would love to hear what you’re most looking forward to once lockdown has been lifted.

Here’s what IKEA has to say: “Life at home has never felt more important than it does right now. But it’s brought some fresh new challenges. Whether it’s dealing with new colleagues that bark or cry, or finding distractions around every corner. Whilst we’re conquering the great indoors and enjoying time at home, we’re looking forward to getting back out in open spaces and catching up with friends, family and colleagues.”

What everyday things are you most looking forward to doing once the lockdown is over? Perhaps it’s a much needed post-quarantine haircut or being able to nip out to the supermarket planning for the entire week ahead? Are you looking forward to a quick visit to a friend or family member’s house for a cup of tea? Maybe you’re even looking forward to resuming your commute? Are you eager to have the freedom to be able to decide on an impromptu trip to IKEA for some meatballs?

Whatever you’re most looking forward to, share on the thread below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a £200 IKEA voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

It depends when we're allowed back out... I'm pregnant with our first baby and can't wait to get to shops to buy for baby boy's nursery and to choose a pram and car seat etc.

If lockdown lasts for much longer then I'll be sad to have to buy online, rather than go and touch and feel things to enjoy the buying.

Most of all, I can't wait to hug! My mum and mother in law So want to touch my belly and to have hugs. We're going to go round and hug people like mad when we can!

Me and my partner are buying our first home together but due to lockdown we've had to put it all on pause. On the one hand I'm grateful that we're able to stay at my parents to keep safe but I think my partners going mad living with his in-laws! As soon as they announced that house moves will go ahead from Wednesday I've been non stop looking at furniture for the new house. Just can't wait for this to all be over so we can finally move in!

I was talking to my DH about Ikea earlier today. We were wondering when it will open again. Honestly, after lockdown I'll probably be going to IKEA! I've got my eye on some garden furniture and I need some more tea lights.

I am looking forward to seeing family and friends plus having them meet my new baby that'll probably be born before I see any of them!!

Ikea trips does sound so superbly fabulous as well especially if we get to move when baby is a few months old. Stock up on all the usuals and enjoy the restaurant again

I am genuinely looking forward to going to IKEA! As a family, we love our local IKEA and the kids love starting the day with a small cooked breakfast and a play in the interactive children's play area. During lockdown, like many I have started lots of home projects. I have my list ready for all the household bits and bobs I want to buy as soon as it opens again.

I'm looking forward to going OUT. I'm shielding so have only been out for hospital appointments. I think a day out on the Northumbrian coast with DH and our DDs, including a picnic, fish and chips and a castle or two would be perfect. D1 is hopefully off to university in October and I hope we'll be able to take her there and help her move in to her room.

Being able to plan a day trip out with the kids. The Easter holidays and Bank Holiday weekend we're both very strange as we usually go out somewhere for a change of view.

Also finishing my son's bedroom which we were getting new furniture for but the deliveries (understandingly) has to be cancelled.

Seeing my family and giving them all hugs; having a cup of tea with a friend; playing badminton again.

And on the shopping front I am really looking forward to IKEA reopening, as I have just seen all your new summer textiles and products online - all the turquie/orange/tropical colours look lush!

Seeing my mum. I've not seen her since Feb half term.

I still have meatballs in my freezer, as I happened to stock up before lockdown, but I wouldn't mind a Daim cake.
