Looking for advice on Primary schools in Carnoustie

Hi, my husband and I have recently moved from London to Angus and we are thinking of settling in Carnoustie. Does anyone know anything about Woodlands or Carlogie Primary Schools? And if you had the choice, which would you pick? We are aware Broughty Ferry apparently has better schools but unfortunately no houses currently on the market we are keen on. Many thanks in advance for any advice you can offer. Best wishes

Having "sent" Eildon over here from the Primary school topic, I hope some Scotsnetters can help Smile

I'm in Glasgow so don't have a clue about East Coast schools.

Hope this message is better late than never for you! I know both Woodlands and Carlogie primaries and there really isn't much between them. Excellent attainment at both and both in nice areas. Carlogie is an older building but Woodlands has quite large class sizes as it is only 1-stream e.g. a couple of classes over 35! There are quite a lot of houses in both catchment areas for sale at the moment too. Hope this is helpful. Any other questions, just ask!Smile

Didn't go to the primary schools in the area but went to the high school (total shit show, definitely just get apply for out of catchment to go to monifieth or grove). Not much difference except one of them has a lot of work with deaf students which is supposed to be very good if your kid has hearing difficulties. In the country side nearby monikie and newbigging are both excellent small schools with fantastic teachers and playgrounds.

Depending in where you buy, Burnside may be an option. The head teacher is excellent.
