We've been tiptoeing round each other for days, things got slightly less frosty over the weekend but not much.
This morning he got in a strop because I asked him to turn down the radio as it was a bit early and it was too loud. He was annoyed because he turned it up to listen to a specific song and I was being a killjoy as usual and spoiling something he wanted to do. He accuses me of this all the time mainly related to him playing his musical instrument. Again this morning I tactfully said perhaps it was a bit early to be playing it so loudly (it was about 8.30) on a Sunday morning and the neighbours might not appreciate it. Apparently I pull a face of utter contempt which he can't bear.
After these two upsets, he announced that the marriage isn't working and that he agreed that we should get some counselling for the sake of the children. I pressed him on this to find out if it's just for the kids' sake and he said he wanted it for us too.
I still think he is being far too sensitive and that not all of this is my fault.

Also AIBU to ask him to give it a fucking rest with the music practice, he clearly thinks I am! It's my bloody house too. Am I not allowed an input in that?

Exactly DoreenLethal, it does sound childish.

I get up earlier than DH. I like loud radio and loud music. It helps me wake up.

I wear headphones.

DH didn't have to ask me. We didn't need marriage counselling for me to decide to wear headphones. There was no shouting. No stropping. No discussion even. Just normal consideration for another human being's comfort.

Is your DH spectacularly thick? No? He just wants to piss you off and have a fight then. He is not sensitive. He likes stropping. Maybe he likes petty cruelty too.

Why do you think he behaves like that?
