Getting to grips with dating again - how many dates before you have sex?

As many as you are comfortable with. Not sure why being a parent has any bearing on it though.

Don't do anything you're not comfortable with and keep safe.

ThisIsStillFolkGirl is right. The single parent bit, should not make a jot of difference. You take your time & be proper good & ready. When 3 months is right for some, 3 dates may be right for another

It's nothing to do with being a single parent, it's to distinguish between those in a relationship on here and those who are single. Didn't need to add the "parent" bit, just did it automatically!

Whenever I want to, but never EVER when the kids are in the house. Kids and men are two separate bubbles for me, and they don't mix. I've had a few ONS and very casual relationships since I split with my husband (and am now in something slightly more complicated) but there is no way I'd introduce a new man to the kids until we had been together for several months at least and i was fairly sure he wasn't going to jsut do a runner suddenly.

Of course, this is because i have my children's father in the picture, and thus have every other weekend free to tomcat around, and have wild, noisy sex without worrying about little people hearing or turning up unexpectedly. If i was a truly single parent and had no time without my kids...it would be far more complicated. I actually don't really know what i'd do in that situation.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Yes I do have time without the kids when they are with their dad, this is time when I can go on dates. I'd never have a man home when the kids were here, unless it was a well established relationship (here's hoping!).
