Archers Thanks due to @PseudoBadger for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads and to @DadDadDad for being our resident statistician and keeping the ball rolling when Pseudo stepped back a bit. Thanks also to all those who contributed to the thread title, principally Dumdedumdedum and MikeUniformMike on this occasion.

Archers All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to be Susan's best friend or other odd unusual views. Grin

Archers Spoilers: not on this thread, please. We don't wait for the omnibus to discuss the weeknight episodes, but we do try our best to avoid cross-contamination from this thread, where spoilers are positively welcomed!

So, to business: will Helen's new cheese be a success? Will Kate succeed in keeping her visiting Brummies under control? Will Pip, Toby, Tom and Natasha fall into the slurry pit, leaving Rosie to be brought up by Anthony Head Robin Fairbrother? Will we ever hear Lee again, and will he casually drop in a mention of his fine collection of framed Bruce Lee posters? Grin

Thanks GabrielleNelson

I'm looking forward to Jazzer telling TomNTash where to stick their job. Will Tash have to haul on her designer wellies and help out with the pigs?

Thanks Gabrielle.

From the last thread:
You know that bit on TA when the "agricultural adviser" is credited? Presumably so we can better imagine the likelihood/credibility of Johnneh having to put his arm up a cow's doo-dah?
They need to get a business adviser on. Big time.
They really need to do this. When TA started, back in the day, information and data was hard to come by, so a programme that broadcast such facts was really useful. Now we are in the age of the internet; we all have information coming out of our ears. What is needed is not so much agricultural advice; what is needed is (REALISTIC!!) business advice, especially on non-farming/diversified projects.
TA needs to update its remit.

Natasha was so out of order talking to Jazzer like that. Love the idea of him going to work for the lovely Rex.

But there is a business advisor in TA no need for one on the production team. Peggy. What an incisive commercial mind she has .., Do
More of what produces profit.

And as ene fule knos, Natasha sourced the mud thing for Kate.

Regarding the app, there's already a website that does what their app is going to do, although I don't know if they've got an app. It's called Big Barn, you put in your postcode, and it lists the suppliers near you. You can also order online from their site, instead of having to go to individual producers websites to order.

It's been going for years, so the idea is not new.

Having been in an inter generational set up - where everyone including family referred to my then dp’s ex as my kids’ granny - I am attuned to CMR/ Freddie as some weird step dad/dss vibe. Particularly as he was the vice principal. Very very dodgy for the family dynamic. Lily and Lizzie spectacularly dim for not seeing it. Your sister’s boyfriend asks you where you were last night? And expects an answer!

I was rather hoping with not for. I’d like Jazzer to go up in the world.

Hold the phone, what did Natasha say to Jazzer?

A dark and un-Christian part of my soul (Shula?!) is really enjoying the Natasha credit card debt storyline......sort of hoping she's ordered supplies for the new 'business' from Debenhams....

Thanks for the new thread, Gabrielle. I can't believe that none of you noticed that the title of the previous thread had a missing parenthesis (and I really can't believe that you did notice and are too polite to point it out Grin ). You'll be glad to know, I've gone in and firmly bracketed off the previous thread. Smile

So, Kate and Peggy seem to getting along so well. What do you think is going to make Peggy snap? Kate taking the wrong books to the charity collection? Muddy footprints on the carpet?

Kate v Peggy’s best beloved books is a given ...

Just hope it doesn’t literally break Peggy’s heart.

birds - you have insufficient data to reach such a conclusion. Grin

(Anyway, you're wrong: I've got some of the skills needed to be a good statistician and I know how to use statistics, but I don't have the full toolkit and practical experience of a professional statistician).
