Hello, a very boring request but does anyone know a good and trustworthy garage in Cambridge? I have had problems before with garages in London and would really welcome some recommendations? Thank you!

We use the one in Newnham and have found it fine! They have told us options and said what bits they would do and what bits aren't worth worrying about it!

Archdeacon Motors! They don't advertise (don't need to) but are very good. Go to Tesco on Newmarket Rd, then instead of going into car park bear right around the corner down Cheddars Lane (past a couple of other garages and the city church etc) and after the bend, at the very end you'll find Archdeacon.

C and D Motors on Hope Street used to look after us pretty well when we were in Mill Road area. I will remember Archdeacon though, thanks orchardy.

Can you return with your feedback, Cambridgenewcomer?

I definitely reccomend Carlton motors, on Cheddars Lane, right next to Tesco's as well.
Been there what feels like hundreds of times (have had many old cars in the past!) and never felt ripped off.

Wasn't that impressed with Archdeacon the one time I went there I'm afraid...

Archdeacon motors have been fantastic, the picked the car up and dropped it back on the same day and were reasonable, I was very happy with them. Then this Sunday my car broke down again, (it is a very old car) and so it is back with them and they took it in on Sunday and have been great about it - so far I would really recommend the service but you never know!

Barr Tech up on Cowley Road near the Science Park - they specialise in fancy sports cars, but I take my battered old Vauxhall there regularly and they are cheap, honest and reliable. And it makes me laugh to park next to a Porsche....
