Welcome to the April Flylady thread. We will be posting links every day to the Flylady method of maintaining your home and all posters, lurkers, newbies and returners are welcome - there will be a lot bit of general chat too. Post your ta-da successes and inspire others (or join some of us in the naughty corner on a less-than-stellar day, we all have them!) and bask in the support of the fledglings as we swing into Spring and ease towards Easter (avoiding the dreaded pointy stick of motivation)!

Checking back in after going AWOL in March. The new job is great but really busy and I caught a horrible cold from the bloody germ factories (aka pupils) that lasted for three weeks so pretty much nothing got done at home. Thi month will be different. It will it will it will it will...

Today's plan is a lot of nothing plus some useful bits. The house isn't awful since we had friends staying last weekend but there's a lot of washing and general clutter around so that needs sorting, plus I've got to get on top of meal planning or I'm going to be the size of a house by Easter.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone. Grin

Thank you for new thread cotswold and thank you stressy for March!

I had a bad dream last night that I'd volunteered to lead the thread and then I forgot until the 2nd and I had to crawl back shamefaced having not done links. Hmm Blush :o

Thanks for the lovely new April thread Cotswold, big yay for April! ❤
And thank you very much for March Cag and to everyone for being so lovely and welcoming!!

@Stilllivinginazoo take a minute, and breathe!! You have a lot on your plate recently, don't burn yourself out. You are a lovely lady who obviously cares about others and does a lot of community work and fun stuff for your family and that's all what's loved and remembered as kids grow up - not everywhere always being perfect. I know I'd rather visit a lady with a nice smile on her face offering me a cup of tea and a chat than a frazzled clearly stressed lady in a super clean house, & I'm sure most others would too. Look after yourself and I hope your weekend goes well.

@PurpleDaisies I use the flylady version of the Cozi app and really like it. It's and official partnership between flylady & cozi - I signed up online with this link then afterwards downloaded the cozi app and signed in and ot was my flylady version www.cozi.com/cobrand-flylady-signup/

Hope everyone enjoys their family fun day!!

Off to read the morning musing etc for a bit of a boost then want to get all my basic routines polished off before having a walk over to the village spring fair before doing some more work work this afternoon, it's my National Trust work which is super fun at the moment though so it's nice for a Saturday! A bath may also have my name on it this evening...

Ds has a sore weepy eye so I went to the chemist but they can give him anything as he is too young. Said just keep it clean and doctor on Monday. I've been a bit lazy this afternoon just trying to relax a bit but dh has been at work and it's never relaxing with babies and small children is it!!?

Right, I'm here! Thanks cotswold for thread and toostressy and SC for last month

Had a really lazy afternoon as nausea really bad the last couple of days ugh. I'm so hoping that when I get a scan (GP reckons I will get an early one as unsure on dates) I find out I'm further along and this bit will be over quicker! Blush :o

Crappy convenience microwacd food for dinner as DH is doing his run and it's all I can handle. And I can't face a takeaway so I refuse to spend on one that I'm not going to enjoy :o

Ugh, have been out most of the day chauffering DD around with various randomers in the car! I've had a restorative toffee latte and DH is ordering a takeaway. Normal service will be resumed shortly ...

foxes, yes, unlikely to sell anything over the counter for that young. You can clean with wipe / cotton wool with cooled boiled water. dani, I could never understand how to get the Flylady app to work on the App Store - may try again if it is very good though. Purple, I use home routines.

Thanks toostressy I've cleaned it 3 or 4 times and I think it's looking a little better. Dh has admitted he may have got some mud in his eye in the garden yesterday because it was very windy and both children were playing in the garden with dh for ages. I'll take him to the gp on Monday if it hasn't cleared up.

Hope your DS's eye is better quickly foxes

Sorry to hear you're feeling sicky Cag, I was sick most days up to 18 weeks, not fun! Had to eat good food little abd often and not let my tummy get empty but it seems every woman and even every pregnancy can be so different with what helps!

Stressy the actual flylady app isn't on android in the uk yet I don't think but I signed up for the flylady version of cozi a few years ago via the link above then downloaded the app and signed in with the log in I'd created. I like it, it has a family calender everyone can add to, the flylady missions appear on their automatically too. And it has good shopping list and to do list functions all on the free version. I've attached a screenshot of it in the app store.

Ta das part 2:

  • work targets hit
  • decluttered all my gift wrap stuff (a lot lol) out of baby to be room and put it all in a suit cover and hung it up out of the way (another great flylady tip!!)
  • made a nice dinner (beef ragu with courgette, yellow pepper, onion, garlic, fresh thyme, Italian herbs and tomatoes)
  • dinner dishes washed and away and sink shined
  • kitchen sides and stove top shined

To do:
  • relaaaax Grin and dwell on oh how different life is about to become!!

Foxes I remember the recommendation of putting a little breastmilk on the weepy eyelids.

Thanks Dani yep definitely varies even between pregnancies! I'm lucky I've never been sick with pregnancy, just nausea. I'm just taking it an hour at a time at the moment as it's really ramped up and having labyrinthitis as well the last few days must be making it worse. But I'm armed with twiglets, ginger snaps, mints and dry cereal which so far have remained 'safe' in my ickiest moments, and just trying to eat what I can manage the rest of the time. Tiny portions though. I'm just in that stage where you feel all melodramatic and like you'll never ever enjoy food again :o Blush
