Happy 2016 everyone!

If your new year's resolutions include more exercise, come and join our little band of (almost) daily exercisers. The idea is loosely based on Juneathon, and you do some form of exercise most days each week (we take rest days too). The exercise can be whatever you like, swimming, running, DVD/ gym classes, yoga, stretching, etc, but we post here to keep motivated and encourage each other.

Our previous threads are Octoberathon and Juneathon

I'm planning to get out for a short run later today, fingers crossed it stops raining at some point!

Oh, I'll join. I planned for a walk today and to achieve my target steps on my garmin. I've achieved both so far. I'm hoping to do Davina 5 week fit tomorrow, if my tight hamstrings have eased off a bit, if not, it will be another walk and some stretching.

Hi Kanyes - thanks for the new thread!

I'm a bit later today - we were out earlier, so exercising had to wait until the evening. I still haven't committed to a new pattern of circuits as yet. Today I did NMTZ, but I really do need a plan to keep me motivated.

I think my personal goal for 2016 is going to be that I will aim to do some exercise on 300 days. Of course, this will rely on me staying illness- and injury-free, but I hope it is a realistic target.

So: 1 day down, 299 to go Grin

So much for my run. The day went a bit hell in a hand basket, so I ended up doing a 20min stretching video instead. I'm horrified at how little flexibility I have in my hips Sad think I might try to do it on rest days.

300 days in the year is a great idea, Oubliette. Tomorrow will be my first proper day.

Ooh hello, I just popped on to look for something like this.

I've just ordered a zumba dvd and downloaded couch to 10k. I also want to do a 30 day challenge alongside these.

My plan is -

Couch to 10k sat, Mon, Thursday
30 day lbd workout
Zumba dvd Sunday

I'm reasonably fit but about 3 stone overweight and flabby. I want to be toned and strong.

I will do day 1 and my first run tomorrow.

I've done some Davina 5 week fit today, as well as the warmup and cooldown I did the HIIT and boxfit sections. My garmin has given me a target of 6908 steps today and ive done 6694 as of now, so i'll easily outpass my target for today.

I'm planning on doing some proper focussed heart raising exercise 4-5 times per week, along with hitting my target steps on all the days.

I need this. I am so lacking in motivation at the moment. I went a walk yesterday and should really go do a run today shouldn't I?

My gym reopens tomorrow, that's been my excuse.

Sounds great - can I join in?

I did parkrun today and yesterday so covered so far. Felt very sluggish but I did it. I'm aiming to hit my calorie target every day with my Fitbit by any means possible!!

Did you get out for a run RJ?

Day 1 of couch to 10k done. Need to do the lbd bit shortly, when I've recovered! My new zumba dvd arrives tomorrow from amazon too.

Is park run good chutney? I kinda like the idea of it I think,

I've got a hazy notion of doing a mile per day in January, be it running, walking or on the exercise bike. So there should be a practical option for any day and weather...

I've done an hour of spinning, a 4 mile walk, and an hour of Pilates today. Back to spinning tomorrow! Confused

parkrun is fantastic glen I'd definitely recommend it.

I'm thinking about doing a Jillian kickboxing dvd.... Might browse MN a bit first.

No 😳 I will get back on it tomorrow I promise. I feel bad now.

Our local park run has been flooded off since Christmas Day.

Hi all, great to have such a busy thread already!

I walked a shopping centre for an hour today, but I'm not sure I can count that! Dh unfortunately had to go to a funeral this evening, so no run when I got home. I have to put together dd's new wardrobe after I put them to bed, so if that isn't too much of a workout, I'll see if I can find something on YouTube.

Rae, there's no way I'd be walking after all that! Do you do it regularly? Chutney, I've given up on park run for the moment...I'm so slow I was last at my last run -- even the 300 year old man was faster Blush. Glen, which c2 10k are yiu using? I need something to push me more when I'm running, but I don't know what.

Hi everyone - and welcome to anyone who is new. It's very friendly here!

I'm sticking with my Jillian DVDs at the moment - I'm not keen on exercising outside (especially not in winter).

Day 2 completed Smile. Today I did 30DS L1D2 & 6W6P L2D1. I think I'll work through these two (interspersed with NMTZ) and see how I go. I am quite tempted to look at some of the Jillian DVDs I don't yet have (maybe a kickboxing or a yoga based one), but I need to check my bank balance first.

Yes, I do realise it is Saturday. I've decided to forego my usual rest day and push on through for the moment. Especially since I had a couple of rest day mid-week.

I'm using the sender fitness one. It let's me have my music playing over it, I like it so far!

I think that's what puts me off park run. I'd be overtaken by elderly dog walkers!

Ray I am seriously impressed. I barely managed my run and 20 seconds of plank!

Ive done NOTHING today. Apart from lift dd a million times - shes attempting to crawl so needs continuously rescued Grin

Plan to do some pilates tomorrow. Got darcey bussells which i quite like. Just need to do it!

I treated myself to a Jillian box set before Christmas Oubliette which I told myself was a bargain. I've been doing the kickboxing one over Christmas (and did drag myself off MN long enough yesterday to do it) but want to try the yoga inferno one today. I'm a bit scared though Grin

My children have burnt away any humiliation at my running pace. DS has actually been known to cry with embarrassment at how slow I am - at parkrun I hasten to add as he has to run with an adult. He's not stood watching me overcome with embarrassment and tears running down his cheeks Grin

I am dreadful at pushing myself so need a program to help me along. I thought training for a 10k last year would help improve my pace but it didn't. I'm hoping this thread will help too!

Thanks for the new thread Kanyes Smile.
Did a walk yesterday but have done no Jillian for a fortnight so will be back to it this week. Will probably do a few weeks of 30DS L2 & 3 to get back into the routine....

I'm seriously considering that box set chutneypig - I already have one of the other ones (30DS, 6W6P, NMTZ & BFBM). However, as I've just bought a secondhand piano Shock and agreed that DD can have piano lessons, I might have to make do with my existing Jillian DVDs for a bit.

Anyway, this morning (day 3) I did 30DS L1D3 & 6W6P L1D2.

Ooh, count me in. I am desperately trying to get back into an exercise routine and shift a stone (and a half, really). I ran/walked for 40 minutes on Friday and 45 today, and walked on Saturday laden with loot from the sales. Tomorrow is meant to be a HIIT workout in the morning and a walk after work. Going back to work tends to be my downfall, though. I'm pretty good about exercise when I'm off but rubbish at getting up before work to fit it in. Hoping a trip planned for the Easter hols will keep me motivated.
