After a positive test how many days to get negative result?

Has anyone encountered this? Got test due to travel (work) Result - positive, have retested, got an inconclusive/retest required. I’m going to need to keep retesting but have no idea how many days to allow between tests?

I felt a bit under the weather two weeks ago, no cough, no temperature (In fact was freezing cold not hot), was super tired and vomited. So I didn’t think to test, only in hindsight do I think that might have been related.

Are you not supposed to isolate for 10 days from the test date if you didn't have symptoms?

Why are you going to keep retesting when you've already had a positive? You isolate for 10 days, household isolate for 14. You don't need to keep testing till it's negative?

She says in the OP she was tested as she needed to travel for work. That is presumably why she needs a negative test.

Or maybe she should just follow the rules and isolate for 10 days from her test result

My friend is now 9 weeks in and still testing positive!

Positive test result

A positive result means you had coronavirus when the test was done.

If your test result is positive, you must self-isolate immediately.

If you had a test because you had symptoms, self-isolate for at least 10 days from when your symptoms started.

If you had a test but have not had symptoms, self-isolate for 10 days from when you had the test

You can keep testing positive for ages but doesn't mean you are contagious. I would let work guide you but at my friends work where they need to travel they are tested every 5 days.
