At least not til I get to about 6 cm.

Up til then, its all over the place really.

Is it just me?

Me too - contractions all over the place and thejn this strange urge to push! Usually 7 or 8 cm before i get to hospital where they shove me in a side rm til my contractions get regular. Followed be a mad panic 15mins later whe they decide to check and find im 10 cms and head is crowning!

yes I would like, just once, for it to be like in the films

as in, waking dp in the middle of the night, with "darling, I think its time."

Not-"gosh, was that 5 minutes or 7 minutes between those? How CAN it be 10 minutes, it was 3 minutes last time? Do you think we should call someone?"

And then there is the fact that "painless Braxton Hicks contractions"- well thats a load of bllx, isn't it )

This made me think of a friend - she wasn't convinced she was in labour, contractions on and off, nothing too serious, but phoned mw for homebirth anyway. Baby popped out before MW arrived .

Bonus for me was i never got to hospital only to be disapointed by being 2 or 3cms!
As a vbacer it would of meant hrs on a bloody monitor. In fact, next time i'm thinking of not going to hospital and just saying it took me by surprise - one minute they were between everty 3 mins, then every hlf hr and then a baby fell out!
