help finding overnight stop in france in august

Really hoping that someone out there will be able to help. I need to book an overnight stop on 9th august for 2 adults and 2 children. We are driving back from Toulouse to Calais so needs to be around the half way mark, poss le mans or tours area.

I am having a nightmare finding family rooms available. We really just want somewhere to crash as need to have an early start the next day and obviously don't want to pay too much.

Please if anyone can give me some names i can look up i would be really grateful.

all links welcome..thanks in advance x

We've used quality/comfort inns before. Their family rooms are good value, and the one we stopped in (near Dijon) was 2 rooms separated by an arch, with plenty of room, double bed and bunk beds. Its about 5 years since we stopped in one, but it cost us about £40, including breakfast

Try B&B Hotels: www.hotel-bb.com.

Le Mans South is showing a four person/four bed room for 54 Euro.

May be other availability which is more convenient.

Haven't stayed in them, but have noticed they are one of the few places that seem to accept more than three in a room. Having driven past a few they seem generally new-builds just off the autoroute.

Good luck!

We stayed here in a lovely family room. It's about 15 mins south of Le Mans.
Nice family owners, warm welcome, good breakfast, in a pretty village on the river for a quick leg-stretch and shop for picnic before setting off again.
Highly recommended.

We stay at the Novotel in Chambray-les-tours most years, and then eat at the Flunch!

I found a website called drive-alive was helful but a tad slow. You add your starting point & destination, & it brings up the main roads and identifies hotels/B&Bs near them. Found a a good one in Le Mans this way.

Or, if you're feeling flush, try Alistair Sawday's website for B&Bs.

Good luck!
