Title says it all really.
Tell me about the lovely things you have been making, any craft. Pictures/Ravelry links would be great.
I like to crochet but I've found myself in a bit of a rut and want to be inspired and find some motivation to make something, even if its a totally different craft.

I made a little tote bag on a one morning bag making course a few weeks ago. I don't have a picture yet as my sewing machine seemed to struggle with the thickness of it and the stitching around the top is wonky. I am going to the National Quilting Championships with my mother tomorrow and hope to find some ric rac there to try and cover it up. I'll do a picture at the weekend when it is finally finished

Other than that, I have been knitting squares for the various MN blankets and have done about a third of a knitted stole for a friend.

But really I am posting just to have a nosy at the lovely things other MNers have been making and I am marking my spot. Grin

Hi cloudpuff and niecie,

Last week I made 9 beeded necklaces (6 for the bridesmaids for my friend's wedding, 1 for my friend and 2 for myself Grin) it was the first time I attempted proper beadwork on wire with crimping beads and clasps and pliers and all! Very satisfying.

I also made my partner this roll up spanner holder, then realised it was coming up to my BIL's birthday so made him one too,

and then very quickly made this carrier bag holder for my sister so she wouldn't feel left out!

After all of that, I haven't made a single thing this week.

I can tell you what I'm contemplating. A quilt made from vintage embroidered tray cloths I just got for pennies at our charidee shop. Picture here of the cloths. I'm going to use some 30's style charm packs too and then put a ruffled, liberty style edge on it. Am v excited!! Blush

My facebook page has lots of my crafty antics too:

I'm in a mumsnet flickr group but haven't visited recently. Will have a look.

I've finished the blanket!!! It needs a final iron, but it's all done - going to blog about it later.

New project, some bunting for my children's bedroom - another wallet with oil cloth outer, dribble bibs (commision from a friend, and some for DD too)

that will keep me busy enough!!

Oh Kryshees, I was just about to put a link on here onto you, as you hadn't been mentioned, too busy sewing!

Report
OnlyWantsOne · 17/06/2011 18:27

can I ask you all a question -

we obviously all use the internet, and all crafty and sew etc, Im thinking about doing my first craft fair, but I feel wrong or bad if I see some thing on a blog etc and try to emulate it myself?

Kryshees - love your little cutlery pockets for example, I think I may make some thing similar for DD (for example) but I feel like a big fat copy cat!!

ColdcomfortHeart - the quilt championships were great. Some fantastic quilts and the sort of thing that I can only dream about doing. I shall upload some photos at some point. It wasn't too busy which isn't great for the organisers and the stalls but good for those of us who want to look at things. The best thing of all is that my mother bought a sooper dooper new sewing machine (Janome quilting machine) and I am getting her old one which is better than my very basic one and has electronic bits on it and everything .

My mum will have mine to take on sewing days as it is light and easy to move around. So I get a new(ish) machine for pretty much for nothing!! Smile

I now have to decide what to make first when I get hold of it.

You are all far too clever and talented. I am green with envy.

I made a height chart that looks like a giant ruler. Grin it took zero amount of talent. I should be ashamed to post on this thread.

I want to see OvO's height chart

You're on top of my favourite posters list now, OnlyWantsOne. Grin

I shall take a pic later and put it on my profile.
My DH was very I'll yesterday and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance, as I collected a few things for him I walked into my hall to find the paramedics measuring themselves! Grin. It's been a hit so far!
